What is the DIfference?

I am due to upgrade phone and sign a new contract. I was wondering if it matters whether you go to Best Buy or Circuit City or go to a Verizon Store. They all seem to have different deals on phones just wondering what the difference would be.

Thanks

In the spirit of Christmas.........

Customer service and store reps would greatly appreciate it if customers would not verbally abuse us because you are not eligible for an upgrade. We understand you want to get the new phone for Christmas but if you are not eligible, you are not eligible. Swearing and screaming at us excessively will not change that upgrade date.

So please, in the spirit of Christmas (you know, goodwill towards men and all), please show some restraint when we advise you are not eligible for a discount.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! 🙂

National Access

Anyone know why National Access Server is down, or when they will get it back up? Tech support thought it might be my phone, and referred me to the VZW store where I bought it 3 weeks ago. We switched it out to a new treo and that didnt fix the problem, called Tech Support again, said it could be the phone and to replace it again, or it could be the server. Replaced the phone again and it still wouldnt connect, called tech support again... Said he could troubleshoot but that would probably not solve the problem and that they were having some "issues" and to call back in the morning....anyone know anything about this?
3 Treos in under an hour, 3 calls to Data Tech Support...and nothing resolved ☹️

This is absolutely outrageous!

Good morning.

I hope a good number of you read the stories on the front page of phonescoop.com like I do. The one at the top of the pile this morning completely pushed my buttons!

Magistrate Judge Gorenstein of the Southern District of New York issued an opinion this week permitting the United States government to use cell site data to track a cell phone's physical location WITHOUT the government having to obtain a search warrant based on probable cause.

Knowing full well that technology has had this capability for a while, and it can certainly be assumed that in some cases this has been going on for a while anyway, every single one of us who lives within the letter of the law should be absolutely outraged at this breach of civil...

Service

Does Verizon support "800/1900 MHz CDMA plus AMPS band." I was on Nokia's website and noticed the 6155i model which looks pretty nice and just wanted to know if it would be supported by Verizon's service.

New non-PDA phones

Are there any new non-PDA phones coming out soon? I am not a big fan of the CDMA RAZR, so I am holding out for something else. Thanks!

Dial Up Netweorking & Bluetooth

Does Verizon offer any phone that offers Bluetooth and also still supports Dial Up Networking? I don't care at all about MP3 players, spiffy cameras, etc. But when I'm in an airport or a hotel, it is very important to me that I be able to use my cell phone as a modem for basic dial up networking like I can with my old LG6000. I'd like to upgrade the phone to one that also allows a Bluetooth headset. Anyone know of such a phone? The LG8100 sounded good until they killed of the DUN feature.
Thanks.

view from the top

I have been enjoying this forum as a spectator for a few months and after consuming many of the posts both bad and good I've decided to jump into the fray! Not with a bashful toe poke but full on splash.

First for the consumers. It's just a phone give it a rest. Nothing and I mean nothing in this world is perfect. Including the cell service you may subscribe to. READ THE MANUAL PLEASE. READ YOUR CONTRACT BEFORE YOU SIGN. STOP WHINEING ABOUT THE BILL IT'S IN ENGLISH (MOST OF THE TIME). NOBODY GETS A FREE RIDE AND IF YOU CANT AFFORD IT DONT BUY IT! YOU DONT HAVE TO SPEND 300.00 ON A PHONE JUST TO MAKE CALLS. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS LIKE ANY OTHER ENDEAVOR SOME PEOPLE KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING SOME DONT BE YOUR OWN BEST RESOURCE (SEE ABOVE). IF ...

cell phones vs. gas prices

For all you consumers out there who think it's Verizon out to get you with retail pricing on phones. Get over yourself. It doesn't matter if it's Cingular, Verizon, or much any other carrier for that matter. It's no different than the price of gasoline. Gas prices have been on the rise for quite a while now. They don't do it because of fairness to the consumer. They do it because they can! No matter how many people out there think it's unfair and unjust to have to pay $300+ for a phone at retail price when they're not eligible for upgrade, there are still the same amount of people out there maybe more who will continue to pay that retail cost. Why? Because they need a phone to use with the contract they signed for service. All whil...

Just had my first customer expecting...

the Razr for free. "Well I've been a customer for 3 years now...surely Verizon should give me that phone." Me, "For three years did your calls go through when you hit the send key?" Customer, "yeah". Me, "When someone called you, were you able to recieve that call?" Customer, "Yeah." Me, "Were you charged a long distance charge on your bill if you had to call California?" Customer, "No, I get long distance with my plan." Me, "Sounds like Verizon has already given you what you paid for. The service. So, now you and the phone company are even. Let's look at this phone, but understand Verizon Wireless has already given you product for your money. This phone..."

Needless to say he didn't buy. He still felt that he should get his c...

Treo 700

Are there any plans for Verizon to introduce a Treo 700 that uses the Palm OS (rather than Windows) and which can utilize EVDO?
