service and phones

several weeks ago i asked about reception issues with my lg6100 and riverdale(bronx) ny around where i live. i exchanged the 6100 3 times and the verizon tech people were useless with helping me. i called 611 and got a supervison. he offered a new fru for a lg 5200, kyosera, audiovox, and lg7000. i picked the 7000 and was told i could pick it up at a local store. went to a local store in yonkers and they were out of stock. their wearhouse was also out of stock. i finaly found one in rockland county.
the lg7000 works great so far. pain in the ass but looks like i finaly got a phone that works

Radio Shack and Verizon customers...what will happen?

Just curious if anyone knows how Verizon customers will get treated in RS after this year. Especially if they bought their phones from RS. We have a RS in the mall I work at and I'm wondering if I'll be getting pissed off VZW/RS customers coming in soon. Thanks for any information.

It just sucks to bad

i have never used the verizon ui until i got my v3c the other day. i tried real hard to play down what I wasn't able to do anymore with this communist red bar UI. The fact they will continue with this ui on all upcoming phones really sucks. verizon is great but I'm a city dweller and seldom travel. And even though some lucked out with obex mine does not work. BS...Tmobile is my new best friend. I'm porting out after work! Any reason I should stay besides verizon great network?

gotta love people...

had a customer in my store today having problems with his Audiovox 8910 (doesn't everyone). He just upgraded his phone online. I am an indirect...I can't handle these returns. But here is where it gets really good. I had a few slow days last month so I looked up all the customers that I had sold 22 months ago. I looked to see if their numbers were eligible for upgrades. I typed up a letter that all I had to do was enter a couple pieces of information into the letter, print it, sign it, and then mail it. This was one of those customers. The dialog went something like this:

"Hey, I got your letter in the mail a week ago. Thanks, I thought I had to wait the 2 years before I could get a new phone."

Me...explained the upgrade proces...

GSM Phones Mess Up iPods?

Saw this today. Anyone ever experience it? :

Meanwhile, the analyst acknowledged there may be a minor radio frequency interference problem with Apple's latest iPods where the players will go "crazy" when placed very close to a ringing GSM cell phone.

However, Wu believes concerns over the issue may be overblown:

"From our checks, it appears to impact GSM and not CDMA phones and only on Nanos and video iPods," Wu said. "When a ringing GSM phone is directly in front of the clickwheel, the iPod could go 'crazy' and its volume could fluctuate uncontrollably (reminds us of R2D2 when shot by a laser gun)."

Stolen Verizon Motorola E815

My Verizon cell phone is lost or was stolen. I don't think it will be recovered. What will stop the thief, or someone he sells it to on ebay, from using it? Will Verizon know this when it's re-activated? And will they do anything about it? Thank you.

This is just the begining.... Network Integration is starting to show what was promised.

"Cingular's New York-New Jersey network has tied for the top ranking among wireless carriers in its market in Telephia drive test results conducted in October and November.
Our network was dead even with Verizon in performance for overall reliability. Our accessibility and retainability metrics both exceeded 99 percent.
"After three years of trailing Verizon in this market, we are now challenging them," said Steve Breheny, Executive Director – Network Services, New York-New Jersey. "We have a solid plan, dedicated team and unwavering commitment to overtaking and staying ahead of the competition."
Telephia, an independent market research company that provides syndicated data on wireless use in the consumer market, rates the performance of ...

LG VX8100 vs. Nokia 6256

Sorry for another one of these, but I REALLY need help with this decision. I need a reliable, dependable phone that can last me 2 years. Last new phone I had was the Moto t720 and regretted that purchase the whole life span (2 yrs of that phone).

Some things I want: bluetooth, mp3 capability, good battery life, camera. I love a small phone- I'm not looking for a PDA. I was initially interested in the Razr, but looking for something with expandable memory. I don't know much about VCast- is this very desirable on a phone? I like all the bells and whistles in a cute little package 🙂 .

So now I've narrowed it down to the LG 8100 and nokia 6256. I'm just trying to figure out the big difference between these phones. I know the LG...

$20 Processing Fee/MyAccount

Well, I'm sure this will result in a lot of people asking for a supervisor but effective today (in the NE area at least), the $20 processing fee is no longer being waived even if the ESN cannot be changed online. I'm sure this will be as slow in being recognized by all reps as it was for the $20 fee to start being charged in the first place.

But, just giving you all heads up in the event you get a rep that refuses to waive the fee. Not all reps stay up to date of new changes, so it's possible you'll still have a few that will waive it but eventually (once everyone is coached and/or informed) the $20 will pretty much apply. Keeping in mind that the $20 processing fee does not apply to regular phone upgrades, New Every Two upgrades, phones...

Best Verizon small phone?

Can anyone tell me what teh current best Verizon small flip phone is? i.e. best ringer, call quality, battery life, speaker phone, etc. Nothing fancy... just small and quality. I bought my wife an Audiovox 8910 a couple months ago and it is the worst phone I ever had... can't even hear it ring on high, call quality is poor... battery life is poor.

To trolls.

Please!

If the information you're proving is unrelated to Verizon (but related to Cingy/Srinxtel/TMo etc), plz post it on the Cingy/Srinxtel/TMo forum, where it belongs. Why does this have to be such a hard thing to do?

If you don't like Verizon - fine, you are free to leave, nobody's holding you. I hate crybabies so freaking much! If you have a problem with your phone, address the issue politely (not "my #$@%& $#@# phone doesn't work, #@#$%@ Verizon!!!!"), if you are unhappy about the Vz policy, post if that is related to you personally (not “I'm with Ne#$%&, but I was told that Verizon has/did/disabled etc...”).

Finally, if you're lonely and have nobody to talk to, don't use the forum to engage people into flame wars. Use IRC ins...

TO VZW CS folks

Can somebody out there help me with this question.
I ordered a new phone the other day from vzw Telesales. I have purchased phones from VZW telesales in the past using my Credit Card.
But On the customer recipt that was in the box it would say Payment Info "CR" which mean credit card. This time the Payment Info has a code of "ZD" What does "ZD" stand for? VZW could not answer my question. And the balance is zeroed out.

any info would be great.
thanks
