Replacement for the Motoroal E815

I am looking to switch over to Verizon from Cingular Service. I have been told that the Motorola E815 is one of the best phone currently available on Verizon (especially where reception and call quality are concerned). We are wanting to make sure we have a good phone but are not surprised in the next month or two that a replacement for the E815 is around the corner and we did not know about before we lock overselves into a phone and 2-year agreement. So, do anyone know of a replacement from Motorola in the works for the phone or a competitor that will bring a better phone to market in the next two months?

Thanks

Coachtim: Mini-Review?

Hi Coachtim,

I think my question to you last week got lost amongst all the holiday posts.

Might you be willing to post some thoughts on your first week+ with the V325, for those of us who are considering it?

Thx in advance, xari.

V325 in Retail Stores, When?

Okay, so we know that the V325 will be available via the internet starting on December 6.

Anyone know the specific date that it will be available in Verizon retail stores???

What's with the new process????

I went into the Verizon store last night to get my phone looked at for the volume fluctuation problems (LB VX8100) and I have NEVER seen so many disgruntled customers and potential customers in a Verizon store in my life. Here's why:

They have implemented a new process where everyone who comes into the store has to register with this touch screen computer system. Then you simply wait and wait and wait. Most people said they were in the store for about 2 hours before anyone actually acknowledged them in any way. This is going to be horrible for business, in my humble opinion. At least before this system, sales reps said "hello, we will be with you as soon as we can." Now, they don't even know you are there until your name shows up on...

NEW THREAD

I'm still full from turkey day 🙂 Any black Friday horror stories guys? I didn't see much from the carriers over here in Washington. Cingular didn't have 1500 for 39.95, verizon was doing nothing but sales, and lagging their typical asses off on the razr release. I did talk to a Sprint guy and he did bust out the blade for me to play around with. I liked it a lot, not enough to leave verizon for it though. I had sprint for one year before, my experience was decent.

hmmm..........................

Well.. we now know when the Razr phone will be coming out. We also know that the Nokia has full obex... The 9800 doesn't have full internet access. The new blackberry is out, and we all survived "Black Friday" (or lack their of). Verizon Wireless still starts at 9pm. The i730 is the last phone with Wifi, that VZW will support. The 3rd quarter numbers came out and we were number 1 again, and still don't offer free phones with new activation. The music on demand is starting in Jan. and VZNav, is going to start up very soon. They finnaly came out for a phone for kids. EVDO roll out is happening more and more. Cingular's CEO says they are 2 years behind us in every aspect of business. And GSM carries have cooler phones. Radioshack sucks, and I h...

Phone Purchase Options...

So many times and so many different discussions on this site and they almost all relay back to a bad experience purchasing handset equipment at a VZW store location. Verizon Wireless is simply a service provider. When your landling phone equipment craps out on you, do you call them? No, the average person huffs and puffs and gets their happy a** to wal-mart to buy a new one. Just a little point to put out there for all you anti-purchasing a phone in-store consumers. It is NOT a requirement for the customer to purchase their phone from a Verizon Wireless retail location. It is simply a convenience. You can get your phones directly through the manufacturer, or off of E-bay, and hope to god later on down the road if you happen to have pr...

Holiday Minutes

Who else besides Verizon has stopped the free holiday minutes? This sucks and a 10 year customer will now switch to Cingular or TMobile. At least I will be able to get roll over minutes and a Razr without the wait and promises.

V710? 2 Hour Waits? No Holiday Minutes?

WOW! It seems that verizon is really going downhill faster than expected. Some very interesting threads. WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO BUY A V710? Someone tell that guy that there is a lawsuit and a recall on the phone. Verizon will give a FULL refund including accessories, or you can get out of your contract if you wish. The phone is that bad. Worst phone Motorola ever made.
The 2 hours waits are not the norm, but 45 minutes to over an hour is. Then the take away of a simple thing like holiday minutes seems like verizon is living on their past laurels.
Can not wait to hear how the verizon reps reply to the new posts today and the problems that verizon denies. If they are number 1 in customer service then customer service as a whole in this c...

Using bluetooth in your car to access voicemail

In order to access your voicemail, you have to dial the phone number, wait for the prompt and then enter your pin number. When you enter your voicemail phone number into your car's address book and dial via bluetooth, how do you enter the pause and pin number?

Thanks for your help.

Is there a limit to the 15 day trial period?

If I go to best buy today and upgrade my phone the the VX9800 (side question, can they give me the 2 year agreement rate, and how does this affect my ne2 which I get in september), then in 15 days I don't like it, can I go into the VZW store and return it, and purchase a different phone? Then, lets say that phone doesn't cut it, can I go back in another 15 days and return that?

Just wondering. Thanks for your help.

Where to get Motorola V710

Happy Holidays fellow Verizon customers,

From my earlier post, it sounds like I should get the Motorola V710 as it has the tri-band coverage.

Unfortunately, it has disappeared from Verizon's website.

I am elgible for promotional pricing at Verizon stores and online since I'm in my 23rd month of my phone.

Does anyone know how to get one? Should I call customer service and see if they will sell one to me or do I need to go to VZW stores so see if they have any left?

I was thinking the new Nokia 6256i would also be an option but once again, VZW doesn't carry it in their stores.

Thanks for everyone's assistance!
