Pix question

I just had a customer come into my store with an LG VX6100 asking for a cable that he can get the pictures from his phone to his pc with. I am not aware of such a device, to the best of my knowledge he would have to pay the 25 cents each and use his e-mail. Or he can subscribe to a pix messaging plan. He then said RadioShack across the street told him to come in here that I would have this cable. They were the ones that told him about it. They said if I didn't then definitely the Verizon Wireless retail store that is 30 miles away would.

Hello?!?! I haven't heard of such a cable. Am I missing something?!?! Or is (as usual) RadioShack just sending another person on a wild goose chase?

LEAVE CONTRACT WITHOUT ETF. GUARANTEED!!!!

In the next several days, Verizon should begin notifying customers there will be a new “Administrative Charge” of 40¢ per line effective October 1st. The announcement of this new charge will allow subscribers to terminate early without incurring an Early Termination Fee (ETF), since it will have a “material adverse affect” as detailed in the Terms and Conditions of Verizon contracts. Customers will have 60 days to exercise this right from the time they are notified by Verizon. In other words, roughly now until then end of October you will essentially be out of contract.

This means the new contract you just signed (remember that thingthat gave you $150 off your phone) can be broken without getting charged $200 for doing so. What doe...

VZW Tones for Audiovox CDM 9900

I need some help with my failed attempt to download a ringtone from VZW Tones via Get It Now last night.

Using my PC, I located the sample file at vzw.ztango.com/vzwtones. The search initially indicated that it could be downloaded to my Audiovox CDM 9900 phone. I then used the GIN feature on my phone, only to find that VZW Tones was not a selection that I was able to reach. It seemed to limit me to going to the SONY and Univision download sites. I tried the SONY site , only to find that they don't list the particular tone that I need.

I then phoned Verizon Wireless GIN customer service via landline. I was told that VZW Tones was no longer a selection that could be made on my cellular phone. Was I given correct inform...

Any truth to this??

I found this while browsing the web. Any Verizon employees here that can tell me if this is legit or not?

All Federal Employees (including retired) are able to get a discount on
their personal cell phones by calling their carrier and mentioning the
"Federal Telecommunications Act 1996 Discount to Federal Employees Past
and Present."

Said something to the effect of being able to get 19-25% off and up to 2 free upgrades per year. Seems to good to be true, but I figure what the heck I may as well ask. 🙄

www.verizontrings.com; Anyone use this for ringtones?

Cost $12. I have not joined yet because I don't know if they have the ringtones I want OR if it will work at all.

Claims on their website that VZW phones like 8100 and 815 are available for ringer downloads.

Hmmmm 😕

Cingular Vs Verizon (repost)

I have heard a lot of people who claim to know what network integration is. Very few people understand the complexities of merging two different networks. Plus trying to merge two different customer care departments. AT&T wireless died they killed themselves with freebie's and bonus minutes and credits and adjustments. AT&T also did not complete their GSM overlay before the merger there is a lot of TDMA still on the AT&T network. Completing the GSM overlay on AT&T and completing the upgrade to UMTS is very important. Cingular completed their GSM overlay six months before the buyout. While Cinguar is trying to complete the absorption of AT&T Verizon's service and technology and coverage remains consistent and grow by default. Cingular custome...

Wow....

I'm new to these forums and have been here over a week. I have learned a lot that I didn't know about cell phones, plans, and carriers. I've had the pleasure of reading some well-written and thought out posts, as well as some that you really can't do anything but laugh at.

Before discovering this forum, I must admit...I did bitch from time to time about my provider, Verizon. Nothing over the top, (I'm intelligent enough to realize that a cell phone plan is a choice, NOT a requirement!) just your typical griping about costs of plans, phones, and binding contracts.

Problem is, I think it comes down to 2 things. First of all, as many have been pointing out, sense of entitlement in this country is ridiculous. It's absolutely astound...

How "IN" are ported numbers?

Ok here's a question for the VZ reps here:

If anyone ports their land line to VZ for example, how does the IN "computer" know it is really an IN call and not just some land line call being placed. So when another Verizon customer call the ported number, do they both get the call for free as part pf their previously subscribed IN calling plan?

Does Verizon connect the IN dots just by exchange assigned to them as a carrier (which worked well prior to Number portability) or does the database specifically list the entire number, irrespective of its original location or previous life as a land line?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Thanks

Billing/Account Setup Problem

I checked my minutes yesterday by dialing #646, and I was struck by the large amount of out-of-network peak minutes that I had used only being half way through my billing cycle (I have never gone over my minutes in the past 2 years), so I called VZW to check and make sure that there wasn't an error billing me for airtime for data usage (I have the V-Cast VPak).

The guy I spoke with told me that he cannot check to make sure of anything that is current until the statement closes at the end of the month. So I decided to do my own test....

I purposely did not make any out of network phone calls last night after 9PM. The only thing I did with my phone after 9 was go on the VZW wireless web and go into Get It Now. Due to me having V-Cast,...

Why and when you should have BOTH Cingular and Verizon Service

I have to repost this in it's own thread because there seems to be a constant fight between both users and employees. I have both and here is why you might consider that as well.

There is a great economic reason to get two phones along with MANY other reasons.

1. Instead of paying one carrier $100 and suffering with only their feature set and coverage You can pay 2 $50 each and have the BENIFIT of BOTH carriers and feature sets! No brainier there. Or split $200 etc.

2. You now have 2 numbers like most people have anyway, Except both are with you all the time.

3. Where one phone does not work usually ALWAYS the other will. Better coverage for the SAME outlay.

4. Redundancy. If you lose one phone you can forward the number to ...

upgrade: by store, online, or by phone?

I'm hoping to upgrade my phone this week and would love some help making a decision.

My wife and I currently have a separate accounts with Verizon. I'd like to switch both of us to a family plan and upgrade both of our phones. My wife doesn't care what kind of phone she gets and I'm leaning towards the Treo.

I'm wondering if there are any advantages/disadvantages to buying online, by phone, or in store.

I'm hoping to switch this week, so any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Venting!

Customer comes in. His phone is 14 months old and it quit working (won't go into details on what was wrong).
He went to where he bought the phone (RadioShack) and they told him to come see ME! I am an indirect agent. I do not have techs. I do not work on phones. But they told him all they could do was sell him another phone at full retail. He has the total equipment coverage on his account. He told them he uses his phone for business so he couldn't be without a phone. They told him there wasn't anything they could do, but maybe something I could. In general conversation about what his REAL options were (take the phone to a tech and the extended warranty should cover as long as there isn't any liquid damage or physical damage, which ...

Any new phones for Verizon any time soon?

I have been considering the purchase of the Motorola E815, but have heard numerous people complaining about the "echo" in the phone. I am now wondering if ANYONE out there knows of any new phone that Verizon may be releasing any time soon?

Prices on Motoroloa e815

Does anyone know when (or if) the price on the e815 is going to come back down to $100? I'm due for an update in a few weeks and I'm starting to get a little anxious about having to pay 50 bucks for the phone. . .
