great customer sevice vz(come to sprint)

We know that times are tough for both businesses and customers. So,we are not terribly surprised to hear that a Verizon Wireless customer could not make the $308 payment due on his monthly invoice. It is what the rep for the carrier allegedly said that takes this story to another level. Al Burrows, the customer, worked out a 90 day payment plan on the debt with the assistance of a Verizon collector. Not terribly long after both sides agreed to the deal, another Verizon rep made a call to Mr. Burrows and even though he was aware of the deal, the rep demanded immediate payment and threatened to "...blow your m***** f***ing house up". Burrows, who admits to being scared about the threat, is suing the carrier and filed the case w...

Cheap Liars

I think it's funny when customers try to purchase smartphones with no data package, saying "i only want it for a phone and to text, but i like this phone; i don't want internet".

I would like for just once, a customer to say "i want to have the phone that everybody else has, but i don't want to pay for it. i want to get over on the system for once in my life (or "i'm used to getting over on the system so this shouldn't be different)."

I can understand being cheap; I'm cheap. I just think that it's amazing how many people try to get smarthpones with no data. That's all.

Texting Problem Between Verizon CDMA Phone and European GSM Phone

🀭 I bought an unlocked quad-band GSM phone and a European SIM card with a +44 UK phone number, for an upcoming trip to Europe. I loaned the phone to a friend who just arrived in France after traveling from the USA. When I, or others, send text messages to my GSM phone in Europe, the messages don't arrive. Similarly, text (SMS) messages sent from Europe are not arriving back here on my Verizon Wireless CDMA phone. Voice is working fine @ $0.46 per minute to call back to a USA cell phone or $0.30 per minute to a USA landline. Text messages would be free to receive in Europe and $0.15 per message to send back to the USA (if they worked).

As an experiment, I went into an AT&T Wireless store and sent a text (SMS) message using one of thei...

So has anybody else come to Vzn because of being disgusted by the deformed Backflip from AT&T?

I'm just wondering if any others have come to Verizon due to being fed up with the deformed Motorola Backflip as being the only Android option on AT&T. Here we are it's now the 1st of June, and still, only the retard Backflip is the only Android option.

So has anybody else given up on waiting for AT&T?
What about those of you who work @ Verizon stores, are people like myself porting from AT&T due to the Backflip being the only Android option on AT&T?

AT&T Changes Smartphone Plans, Will Verizon Follow?

CNNMoney
By David Goldman, staff writer

http://money.cnn.com/2010/06/02/technology/att_iphon ... »

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- AT&T announced new 3G pricing plans Wednesday that will make iPhone and iPad bills less expensive for most customers, but will also put a stop to unlimited data plans.

Under the new pricing scheme, 3G data service for AT&T smart phones (including the iPhone) will cost $15 a month for 200 megabytes. If customers download more than 200 MB, they will be charged an additional $15 for each subsequent 200 MB that they download.

For iPad customers and heavier smart phone users, AT&T will start offering a $25-per-month plan for 2 gigabytes of data. Under that plan, if customers exceed their allotment, they will ...

First Appliance (Non-Phone/Smartphone/Aircard)

What would you want the very first appliance that is LTE ready to be? And why?

I would love it if the Nintendo DS was LTE ready. I know the Nokia N-Gage was similar, but Nintendo makes the best portable gaming units and the DS is by far the best out there!

Texting Price Ripoff

I posted this in another thread in answer to a question. But on second thought, it really deserves its own thread.

Here's what David Pougue, the Tech columnist for the NY Times had to say last year about text messaging cost ripoff:

TEXT-MESSAGING FEES Why has the price of a text message gone to 20 cents, from 10, in two years? There was no big technology shift. There was no spike in the cost of electrons.

And speaking of anticompetitive: IsnΓƒΒ’Γ’β€šΒ¬β„’t it a little fishy that all four big United States carriers raised their text-message fees at essentially the same time?

Furthermore, why do text messages get special premium treatment at all? Why are e-mail messages (which require much more data) included with basic Internet servic

Android Fragmentation

So, it is unfortunately obvious that Google doesn't think there's an Android fragmentation problem. That's a crying shame, but I was thinking about how to fix the problem and I came up with an idea.

Frankly, there is no real incentive for a manufacturer to update OS versions rapidly, especially for phones that are end-of-life on the production scale. The handset makers have already collected all their money on those phones, so what's the incentive to improve the experience for existing users when you could simply try and sell them a new phone? Really, what's the point? Where's the incentive.

So, I have a thought, what if Google took some of their 30% commission on Android Marketplace sales (the software developers keep the other 70...

Back to selecting a phone.

Well, to make a long story short, I am back at researching for a Verizon phone.

If I cannot find anything, I will accept the LG VX8360 that has been offered.

But now since I have to pay $9.95 more, I might as well look among the rest of the phones which I earlier did not look at.

The one thing I can say is that the several people who have been emailing me trying to help have been so very good and doing their best for me.

Droid app security question

Just got my incredible a few days ago and am trying to get up to speed on it. Call clarity is #1 for me and it's been very good so far.

I have a droid newbie question. I have been concerned about the disclaimers on most of the apps that are available. It says many of them can track your location, accsess your phone calls, browser etc.

Is any of this a concern as long as you are not a drug dealer or terrorist? I just don't like the idea of the New York Times or MSNBC knowing everything I do on my phone. Am I mis-interpreting how these apps work?

IPHONE--Verizon rep says JUNE!?

I could not believe it yesterday when I was in the Verizon store contemplating the purchase of the droid (or waiting for the Ally). In walks a customer and they ask when the IPHONE is coming out. The verizon rep said JUNE! I was shocked! Could this be true!?!?!?

Giving up LG Env Touch for Android?

I have great voice and connectivity with my LG Env Touch. I canceled the Vcast after getting it as I did not like the Touch internet experience. I have internet access at home where I spend much of my time. What interests me about smartphones are the apps. These too are not essential but I keep thinking about a new toy frankly. I have no landline and the LG has never failed me (nor have other Verizon phones). I have read extensively about voice and connectivity problems with each Verizon Android. Not just a few. Although I would enjoy a new toy, my first requirement is a very reliable phone.
Would appreciate some feedback especially from Epik and other Verizon employees as well as other Verizon users. I live in Orlando.
Thanks to everyon...
