$6 per Gig sounds fair to me

McAdam was careful to also mention that the cost of carrying 1 megabyte of data across its LTE network will cost one-half to one-third what it currently costs

Current 3G rates for AT&T and Verizon are $60/ for 5 gigs, or $12 per gig. If they can get the economies needed to drop the price to $6 per GB, with something like a $15 per month per SIM minimum, I think it just might take off.

$60/month gets 4 devices (cell, PC, camera, refrigerator?) sharing 10 gigs used any way you want them? That would sell out all day long.

People using way more data then that need to buy a DSL or cable modem connection, anyway. Heavy, heavy users will never be acceptable in wireless. It's just too costly, even at 4G economie...

Upgrade soon....HTC Droid Incredible or Palm Pre Plus?

I will be eligilbe to upgrade my phone in about a week. I can't decide on which phone to get, the HTC Incredible or the Palm Pre Plus. Ive done substantial research regarding both phones and Ive been played with phones. I like both even though they are totally 2 different phones and have different operating systems. I guess I cant decide because the mobile hot spot on the Palm Pre Plus is such a great option and this seems to keep my interest in possibly purchasing the Pre Plus vs. the Incredible. But on the other hand, the Incredible is newer, fast and has lots to offer regaarding Android and the Apps Market.
Does anyone have an opinion or advice to helping me decide between the two phones? Your thoughts are much appreciated....Thank...

Ten Keys to Being Happy with your Service Provider

1. Check your bill EVERY month and make sure you understand every single charge on it, even if it doesn't change month to month.

2. Understand that YOU are responsible for keeping track of your usage (voice, internet, texting, etc). Your provider is not going to hold your hand when it gives you many options to do it yourself.

3. If you have a problem with your phone, do NOT call for support while talking on it! Make sure you have a way to get on a different phone, even a pay phone (calling 1800-xxx-xxxx is free on pay phones).

4. When on the phone with a rep, act professional when they are trying to help you. They are people too. The nicer you are, the more willing they are to help you and the easier it is to help. Do not rant ...

Advanced Billing Question

OK can i really ask why Verizon bills you a month in advance for a plan you haven't even used yet? Because that sounds like a rip off to me.

Overclock my Droid!!

So my Moto Droid like everyone else's now has 2.1 and I'm just not that gee-whiz with redoing cell phone OS. 😕
Alot of the rooting & overclocking instructions I've found doing a Google search are old posts when the Droid was running 2.0.1

I just want to bump it up to say 600-800Mhz but I just need some easy to follow instructions to do it. 😳

Vz getting tablets?

Remember reading earlier that Vz would be getting some tablets this year; the article on Engadget today about HP releasing a WebOS tablet by October got me dreaming... wouldn't that be nice 🙂 just in time for Christmas maybe.

Info

Summary: If you’re keeping score, this is what we call a double-double. For the second straight year, Sprint customer‘s satisfaction with their Sprint wireless service rose by double digits – further proof that customers like what they see in the company’s turnaround efforts.

What you need to know:

In May 2009, Sprint’s satisfaction score in the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) increased by 12.5 percent from 2008 – the largest improvement in customer satisfaction of any company included in the index, both inside and outside the wireless industry.
This year, by making the largest improvement in the wireless category (we made an 11 percent improvement from 2009), we have now jumped ahead of A...

Verizon leases fiber from ATT, who knew.

I'm sure this is common across the cellular board.

But today internet went down at work (provided by Verizon). Siad it was a major outage in the area, a cut fiber optic.
Next message said it was owned bt ATT and that splices were on the way.

Like I said, who knew. 😳

Initial iPhone Exclusivity Agreement Between Apple and AT&T was for Five Years

According to legal documents uncovered by Engadget, the initial exclusive iPhone distribution agreement between Apple and AT&T was five years. The 2008 court documents cited by Engadget include the following statements made by Apple: "The duration of the exclusive Apple-[AT&T] agreement was not 'secret' either. The [plaintiff] quotes a May 21, 2007 USA Today article – published over a month before the iPhone's release – stating, 'AT&T has exclusive U.S. distribution rights for five years-an eternity in the go-go cellphone world" ... and ... "[T]here was widespread disclosure of [AT&T's] five-year exclusivity and no suggestion by Apple or anyone else that iPhones would become unlocked after two years... Moreover, it is sheer specula...

can I really learn to love the software keyboard if I text???

I am able to type pretty fast without looking, and I like to text people without looking too much. Has anyone gotten used to the android software keyboard who likes to text frequently and without spending too much staring at the keyboard?? Seems the Ally has the "right" keyboard, but the Incredible has the "right" everything else.... Suggestions please??? 😳

So far I am extremely dissapointed by how litle news is coming out of the Google I/O conference that is supposedly taking place right now.
