Any new, smaller, feature-packed phones coming to VZW?

Well, I've about had it with Cingular due to reception issues in my area. I love my RAZR but have some reception issues since I started a new job. Because I am in real estate, I need my phone to work in more places than it does not. My RAZR is great because I can take it anywhere, whether it's for business or going out at night it slips into my pocket easily without a big bulky mess like my LG VX6000 used to.

Does anyone know of new Verizon Wireless phones coming out? My wife has the Samsung P777 and I the MotoRAZR. We went to Verizon Wireless today and were appalled by the selection. Even my wife thought the phones were large, bulky, and looked like something she would've carried five years ago. I know the RAZR is expected late ...

Good VZW CS experience

Since we see a lot of negative stuff in here, figured I'd post some positive.

I called regarding my most recent bill, I thought it was supposed to have my updated rate plan on it (upgraded 7/11), but it's not supposed to start until 9/4.

While on the phone, I asked her about the equipment coverage since I thought that, at the very least, would be effective immediately. She was a little confused about why it wasn't and was about ready to have me fax in my slip from the upgrade proving I had requested it. She decided to look one more place, found that I HAD requested it, made it active retro-active to when I upgraded. This will now charge me almost 3x the monthly fee on my next bill since the first 2 cycles missed it. She then info...

Nice to know its coming though... I think I want either that or the Nokia 3155. And a 'thank you' to the guy on the Howard Forums who found this.

avoiding VZ data plan made me a Skype user

Several months ago I changed PDA phones (I went from a Kyocera 6035 to a Kyocera 7135) and VZ kicked me off my minutes-only data plan (MOU?). My Palm-OS wireless applications, like DA (directory assistance with map/directions), VNC (remote desktop), and IRC (chat) became so incredibly expensive (no free nights/weekend airtime) that I just gave up. I bought a Sharp Zaurus SL-6000 and I just became a beta user for Skype. The downside is that battery life is relatively short when using Skype (or any other internet application ... the Zaurus runs linux desktop called qtopia that does everything the new Samsung i730 does) and Skype doesnt support voicemail on the Zaurus. How ironic that my first VZ phone (a qualcomm 860 circa 199😎 had a wap brow...

Verizon Owned the Quarter. Now What?

Seems pretty obvious to even the diehards of other carriers that Verizon did indeed own the quarter.

My question is, where does Verizon go from here? Do they need to step it up a notch and make some changes (for example, some marketable way to deal with overages, a la F&F or Rollover?), or is it really a case of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it?".

The 2Q results really blew me away. Knew they'd do good, didn't think they could do THAT good. 😳

Charge for Cust Service

Since the start of the month Verizon has begun to charge in-stores for many customer service tasks. If you go into a Verizon store, you will find that there will be a $15 processing fee for all ESN changes, phone upgrades (excluding New Every 2 upgrades), and telephone number changes. In addition, there will be a $10 fee for all phonebook transfers. However, the full extent of these changes is starting to take effect. Now, these terms will also apply to telephone customer service. Thankfully, Verizon does fully support an Online ESN Change system that allows customers to switch phones online at not charge. In addition, Verizon customers are having difficulty changing VCast phones to non-VCast phones online, being informed they must call cust...

BackUp Assistant and

I really LOVE VZW's Back-Up Assistant but have a question. It updates every night around 1:45am (EST) or so. When this happens my phone (V710) blasts a loud one tone chirp. Is there a way to disable this or at least lower the volume? If so, how? Before anyone asks, yes I did read and re-read my manual ;-)

One more question. On "get it now" I see where there is a an application (Verizon SuperPages 2.0) and I was wondering if there was any benefit to buying that application versus looking up a phone number via the web-browser?

Thanks, Scott

pix plae question

Why is it that I can send multiple pictures up to 9 to one person from pix place and be charged for the one pix message but I can not do that directly from my E815. Alternatively I can send one picture to up to 10(?) receipients from my phone (and be charged ?).

forget about referring to the pix monthly plans.

How to get the most out of 'New Every Two'

Hi, I am a month away from being eligable for my $100 new every two credit from verizon. I talked to a rep on the phone yesterday and she told me that when the time comes, I should be able to go to the "Upgrade Phone" section on my account on verizon's website and the credit will be reflected there. The problem is, there is a very limited selection of phones available there. And even with a $100 credit, they are still much more expensive then getting a phone with a new two year contract. So since my contract ends at the same time as this new every two, is there any way I can just do a new two year contract, get a phone for really cheap, and keep my number?

Also, if I go to a store, will I have more phones to choose from for my $100 dol...

V-Cast Phones Billing Problem

Ok, well to start this one off, my bill has been wrong for several months now, since i renewed my contract in May.

I keep having to call VZW because they are charging me for mobile-to-mobile calling, and not using the correct data packages, and text messaging packages.

When on the phone with vz last month, they told me that they did not yet know how to bill V-cast phones! Instead of getting text messaging i was getting data transfer, somthing like the blackberry package, and not text messaging. I think its quite simple, I want the $5 txt messaging package! Then, I thought that I really might have sent more than the 50 out TxTs so I raised it to the $10 plan, but that wasn't even on my bill!

Bottom line, the vzw supervisor said th...

How does IN messaging really work

I have a question, how does the in messaging really work. I have been told by numerous Reps that if you can do it, such as send a text message, and it is to another verizon number, then it is considered "IN" messaging, same goes with pics and flix, even if you are in an extended network. Is this true?

I am looking at my online account information, and it is listing 2 different text messaging. One is the In texting, and the other says other domestic messages. What does that mean. I am not texting any thing but to other verizon numbers, so what exactly does that domestic messaging mean?
