Any truth to this???

I was in the Verizon store in Manhattan on 42nd and 6th the other day looking at phones and I heard a rep tell a customer that the Samsung a670 was discontinued when the customer pointed to it. I heard the rep tell the customer that the phone was already discontinued and that there was no stock left. The customer than asked what was going to replace it and the rep had no idea. Is there any truth to this statement?? I know this phone has been out a while and everywhere I look I see people with the phone. Would Verizon discontinue the phone and have no equivalent ready to replace it. (For example, I know Verizon is trying to get rid of the Motorola V265 so the V276 can replace it). The only other Samsung phones that I know of are the a570 and...

Any new PTT phones?

Are there any new Verizon PTT phones coming out in the near future. I'm thinking of signing up for LG-VX4700 phones, but wonder if new stuff is forthcoming.

Thanks...

Question for employees?

If a phone is returned under the 15 day period for another phone, Is their a time frame that you could still return the second phone for a different phone should the customer not like the second phone either? Or is that it. thanks

Not to beat a dead horse....8100 or 815 (yet again?)

I just cant decide between these two phones. I had the 710 and loved the blue-tooth and its reception, but thats it. I now have the 8000 and like it except for the camera and reception. Actually, the camera is not bad, but I hate the close up lever that never stays where it should, but tends to migrate in the middle. After reading the reviews, I find that they are biased by a lot of people bashing one in the review area, then praising the other. In other words, most of the reviews i don't trust because the same person posts on the same day in both. I NEED SOME HONEST ANSWERS!!! I am not loyal to any brand. I like motos reception, but hate their menus and build quality. I love LG's build quality and menus and overall navigation, but ...

We're Getting the Nokia 6255?

Don't know if this means anything... but I was walking through a mall in Sacramento just yesterday, and came across this cell phone kiosk. You know, one of the ones that sells just about every carrier.

They had all the phones grouped by carrier. In the Verizon cluster of phones, was a Nokia 6255. Does this mean anything, since I've seen no official announcement as of yet? And does anyone know what the other Nokias are that VZW is supposed to be getting soon?

I've heard that the 6235 and 3155 may be coming also.

is it just me, or what is so special about the RAZR??

-OK...it's thin.
-It has bluetooth...so do plenty of other phones. (If you want a hands free headset, you have to get a BT headset, don't even have the choice of using a regular plug in one-there's no port)
-Only some versions have video capture
-only GPRS
-what about for the people like me who like gadgets but are kinda clumsy...I mean it's not built poory, but it's not as hearty as some other models
-what you lose in thickness you gain back in width

I mean it does look really cool, but it just seems to me for the price, you could really get more with something else.

Is the cdma version that's supposed to be coming out going to have any other features than the gsm version?

vzw store cable for transfering contacts and pics from one phone to another

My local VZW store has stated that they can not exchange the pics stored on my 8100 to the e815. In fact they could not efficiently exchange even the contacts. They said it is very slow and often does not work.

What are other store managers experiencing? Can the pics be exchanged. I was told a cable for this purpose is not made.

Question for call center reps

I'm in the process of getting a job at one of the call centers. Can anyone go into detail about the discount on phones and plans and give me a rough idea of what a phone would cost me and how often can i buy a new one? I also have a personal account with Verizon are they able to apply a discount to that I do I need to set up a demo line with them? Can they also tranfer my personal account to a demo line? I would appreciate any answers to these questions. Thanks in advance.

Slider phones...Qwery Keyboard?

I just had the chance to play around with Cingular's LG9100 phone which is a bar phone with a keyboard that slide out. I just about fell in love at first site. Does anyone know if Verizon is going to come out with anything like that in the near future?

e815 + Palm Zire

I've been looking at this new moto with EVDO and I'm wondering if Verizon limited its Bluetooth like it does with a lot of other phone's features. I'm interested in possibly using the e815's bluetooth to get web on my zire. Is that possible?? Do I need some sort of hack?? And is there a way around paying the $80 for unlimited internet and just used the $15 web package?? Thoughts and comments please...

Internet not working on PDA anymore when BToothed to V710

I have had my V710 since last August and have been browsing the internet on my Dell Axim X30 PDA Pocket PC. I have been using the #777 in DUN over bluetooth. Never had a glitch.

Now I am having issues. I can connect to VZW's #777 fine (the connection icon on my PPC turns green and shows I am connected with Packet Data). But when I launch my PPC IE Browser, i keep getting an error "The page you are looking for cannot be found". So I connect to VZW but cant browse any webpages! Did Verizon disable browsing from DUN?

Have they disabled DNS? Is there a proxy to now browse through?

recharging connector

While I have been a fan of Motorla phones, I have always been puzzled about the poorly thought out recharging connector. On the other hand, the Nokia connector is simple, always works, and is better in every way that I can tell. I came across this link from John Dvorak's column that talks about this issue. Any comments would be appreciated.

Any truth about rumored SECOND software update for V710?

I have heard in howardforums that there my be a possible second software update for the V710 in order to make it more like the E815.

Examples:
Improved camera quality.
Customizable outer display.
Speakerphone with flip closed.

Any inside information Verizon employees have would be very helpful and much appreciated to all V710 owners.

Thank you.

Testing the Samsung A970

After trying the LG 8100 and returning it and not having sufficient faith in the 815 (afterall it's a Motorola and cheaply made) - I was looking forward to the release of the Samsung A 970. Someone wrote the below message on the Samsung 970 forum:

rand1124 said:
"i'll make this real easy for you, the samsung a970 is not a good phone. its bulkier than the lg 8000 and while the picture quality is nice you cannot take a picture with out the screen turned which is father flimsy. also the menus are harder to use than anyother phone out there and using the camera option is a whole job unto its self i would not get this phone if it was the only one avaliable for verizon"

Claims he tested it and...
