any info on the 8100 yet

Verizon is swapping my 8000 out for the 8100, is this a wise thing for me to let them do, anyone have any experience with the 8100? I am not to concerned with the mp3 player, ect, I am more concerned with using it as a phone, reception, speaker phone, sound quality, does it drop calls, ect...Any information would be appreciated as I dont want to use the 8100 if it is junk.

Need VZW employee expertise!

🤭 I feel like an idiot asking, but I have a question for any of the knowlegeable VZW staff who frequent the forum. I bought a vx8100 last week which suffers from the fluctuating volume problem. I want to exchange it (within my 15 days) for the samsung a890. My questions are 1. will LG fix the volume problem so I can keep the ultra cool 8100? 2. If I get the samsung will it be a new or refurbished unit? 3. I am cheap, and since I bought 2 GIN games will they let me get those for free on the new phone (bought unlimited if it matters). I appreciate all of the help, sorry again to have to ask. ☹️

Cell phone and Fax

I need some assistance here guys...

I have a customer who will be porting from Cingular (reasons not important), they will be getting PTT phones, the customer is on the road constantly and wants to hook up his phone to his fax machine to be able to receive faxes, I know in a lot of phone there is a fax option (however I have no idea how this is functional).

Any ideas on how this can be accomplished if at all?

Thanks

Need Some Quick Advice From Verizon Experts

We took out our Verizon contract a few days ago - service was good - the LG 8100 was not. I don't want to take a chance on the 815 and don't want an older phone because we want Bluetooth. My wife is still on her month-to-month Cingular contract - and I can do without a phone for a few months.

My thinking is that in the next six months perhaps the 8100 and/or the 815 will have had updates and be better phones - or there will be better phones released (like the 970) that will make it more worthwhile coming back to Verizon.

Is there anything wrong with my logic? Also, I know we can bop out of the Verizon contract and return the phones (both are 8100s) - since we are still in the first week of usage. Is there any reason we couldn't enter ...

Fluctuations in Reception Quality - Trouble Ticket??

I'm in the Kansas City metro area. I just switched from the LG 4400 to the 8100. About 4-6 weeks ago, there was a noticeable decrease in signal strength in my office. I am in an inner office, on the ground level of a multi-story building. For the past year, since moving to that building, I typically had 2 - 3 bars on my 4400, and call quality was very good. I did not have a problem with call quality, dropped calls, etc.

About 4 - 6 weeks ago that changed drastically. I was only getting 1 - 2 bars on my 4400, and with the 8100 am gettin 0 - 2 bars. I am now not getting many calls, they go straight to voicemail, and those I do get I'm constantly worried they will drop, or the quality is poor.

I called VZW, and they won't put in a ...

Change of plans question?

I have a question for any one in the know out there. I thought I read something the other day to that said a VZW customer can change plans at any time and it would be retroactive to the beginning of the billing cycle. Is this true. Here is an example of what I am asking.
Say that I have a illness or death in the family and spend much more time on the phone than usual and by half way through the billing cycle I am 100 minutes over my plan. Can I call VZW and raise my plan to a higher price plan to cover that month and avoid the overages. Then lower my plan back to the original plan the next month or the month after that.
Also could I go back to my original 1000 min plan even though it is not offered any more or would I have to pick one...

Billing date

Besides calling and bothering a rep how do I know when my billing date is. I may be calling it the wrong thing but I mean the date that my minutes start and end each month. On the web it says bill date 21 Jun. Does that mean that my minutes run from the 21st thru the 20th of each.

Thanks to any who answer.

Family Plan vs. Individual Plans

I need some quick advice: I was able to get a corporate discount and I activated today. It was my understanding that the discount would apply to my primary line as well as the 2nd line for my wife (we took out the 700 minute plan for $69.99). Verizon CS informed me I only get the discount on the primary line - I just want to be sure that is correct. If so, would it make more sense to take out two individual plans 450 minutes at $39.99 - as CS informed me I would get the discount off of both plans - plus she informed me on the new phone every two years on the family plan just pertains to the primary phone - but if I had two individual plans then the deal is for both phones.

Is there any reason I should stick to the family plan as opposed ...

Just got Verizonwireless......a bit perplexed....

I posted earlier(switching from Cingular to Verizon, in Los Angeles area) and maybe I had some false or unrealistic expectations.
Phone(Vx8100) is pretty cool but the reception is a lot worse than Cingular. My 1st call..very 1st call was dropped...and I was actually calling my family with my new Verizon phone in my room and it got dropped or the other side could not hear me but with Cingular....everything was fine..
Maybe the grass looked greener on the other side and thank God I only signed up for 1 year..but then this is my very 1st day so I am not going to try to get a refund..maybe it was the 1st day thing..... but I like the phone a lot lot better than Cingular though.
By about this time next year, Cingular should have really cool p...

not trying to be rude

i work for cingular, in the past year or so i have seen alot of changes, and heard of alot of things that are suppose to happen, my question is this
there is a big debate from whether or not the CDMA network is better than GSM or vice versa

now we all know to an honest point of view that both networks are solid networks, gsm is more of a " major city network" and CDMA is more of a RURA: Netork" just because it is cheaper to implement CDMA than GSM

but here is my question i have seen that verizon is very into building up there EV-DO network and focussing on network, because in years upon years verizon has been known as the best provider for service. HOWEVER my concern is that isnt verizon a little bit worried since right now all carri...
