International charges...please help!!!

I'm in the USA and will be in SE Asia in a few weeks for business, Verizon charges $2.49/min. for roaming. To my understand this fee is for CALLING OUT from this one country in SE Asia. Is it correct that if someone call me from home (USA), they just deplete your minutes from the plan you have, like nornal when you're back in the states (except no mobile-to-mobile)?

Thanx

Why do Verizon phones suck so much?

I live in Washington, So I need to have a Verizon phone if I want service in the subway, but their phones suck. I have my blackberry nextel and then my verizon cell. I wish I could just have a verizon blackberry, but they only have ****ty versions of the blackberry and they charge a lot more for their blackberry's compared to other carriers (nextel/cingular/t-mobile). Anyone know if verizon will be getting the 7100 series of blackberry's?

I thought about the XV6400. It's so much larger than the blackberry, and I don't like having to slide it open to use it.

I know Cingular charges me in kilobytes whenever I connect to MEdia Net to download ringtones and stuff; but they use EDGE.

e815 vs. VX8100 ... need help deciding on new phone!!

I just switched to verizon from sprint this past weekend due to better service in my area. I am trying to decide on a new phone and currently have the e815. Size is a huge issue for me. I love the big, colorful screen and all the features of the e815. I also do a lot of text messaging so the large keypad is nice to have. I am not too concerned with the mp3 differences between the phones but the size is a big issue for me. I went to the vzw store yesterday to play with the vx8100 and liked the size a lot better but to be honest it was quite boring. The graphics and display were disapointing. The front display was vivid but very small. What should I do? I have another 13 days to trade my e815 in for the vx8100 or I could wait, anyone know of a...

VZW Sales Rep pay question

Question for Verizon Wireless sales reps. I am a Cingular sales rep that will be applying for a position and am curious about pay and goals before I apply. If you were to ballpark commission + base pay a year, what are we talking about? And I'm not talking about super reps, but the average meets goals and above each month rep. I am currently making about 45k a year, is that about what you guys make? And how is Verizon to work for? F.Y.I. Cingular 😈 does not treat their employees very well. i.e. disposable ā˜¹ļø . Thank you for your information in advance! šŸ™‚

Contract renewal with new rate plan?

I tried to address this a couple months ago. But threads die out, and new questions come up.

As usual, my comments are limited in scope to the Midwest and Great Plains markets. But much of what I am going to say applies to the entire country. At the same time, part of the problem is that even within my market, there are some important differences that pop up when you compare different departments.

The question of contract renewal with a rate plan change is extremely complicated. Even once you understand it, it remains too difficult and time consuming to explain to a customer. You end up talking to a deer in the headlights.

Phone pricing comes in four varieties: retail, one year promo, two year promo, and New Every Two. I’m no...

International dialing

Heard a few people complain recently about the rates going to $1.49.

For those that are slow at math: add the $3.99 Idial feature for 20 cents min rates to England, most standard countries etc..

Even if you just had the feature for 1 day on your account, for one, 1 min call, it's saving you money.

$3.99/ 30 days in a month , feature ends up costing you 13 cents a day. I just made a one minute call to the UK for: 20 cents min + 13 cents for the one day the IDial feature was on my account, costing me 33 cents, for the same $1.49 min call.

Some people just don't see the value in anything.

airtimesonline.com

is a website vzw offers that anyone can visit to stay onto of new offers coming out. It currently mentions the new pricing offers and the start date. Usually if one were to call customer service however, we would not disclose the launch date of new offers. well.

The E815 and Future Verizon Phones...

I need some help...I just purchased the E815 today. Seems great so far with tons of bells and wistles, most of which i wont use. That being said, I have 15 days to return it if i choose and am wondering whether Verizon will be coming out with any new phones in the near future. My only prob with the 815 is the size. Its not huge, its just that I like a smaller/thinner phone. (I've been using the old motorola flip - looks like the 2way phone and really like the size of it.) Any chance the Razr will be available in the next 6 mos? Anyone aware of any other top of the line phones coming out?

Also, I've been reading threads about enabling the Bluetooth and the OBEX. Not quite sure what everyone is talking about...anyone who could explai...

PRL updates

Is there a way, such as the Verizon website, that you can find out if there is an update to available for your phone. Presently I try to update every month or two, but I hate to waste the time doing three phones if there is no update out there.

Just Curious - How many Verizon Stores use Kiosk Check-in?

I'm in Overland Park, KS - suburban Kansas City. Within the past few weeks, the VZW store closest to me has added an electronic kiosk just inside the door where customers check in. It's kind of like taking a number, but you put in your mobile number, name, and select, from a menu, your reason for coming in. Your name is then called in the order you checked in, and, theoretically, the appropriate person, CSR, techie, etc., is helping you.

Anyone else seen this?

New Verizon Customer - Re: Cell Phone Number

Quick question: I am going to be taking out a new family plan with my wife - she will be porting her Cingular number over to Verizon - I need a new number. Is there any secret way of ensuring that you get an easy number or at least one that makes sense to you? I am not necessarily saying I want to pick out a particular number, however, I am just wondering if the number that the computer generates for you is not to your liking - what are your options at that point (without incurring an additional fee)?

Thanks in advance

Calling Voice Mail uses up minutes

When you dial *86 to check voice mail, anytime minutes are decremented from that which is alloted based on your plan.

I used to be that calling your cell number would be considered a cell to cell call and you would not charged anytime minutes.

When did this change and how can VZW tout the service as FREE when it costs you everytime you use it?

So I called Verizon the other day

to get a new phone and new 2yr contract. Since I was on an old National Single Rate plan going to AC they said, "We'll have to mail you a contract. You then sign it, return it to us and then we send you your new phone."

I think - OK, it'll be in the mail tomorrow, I'll have it by end of week and back to them - and I'll have my phone by the end of next week - give or take a couple of days.

So it comes to Saturday (day 4 after calling VZW) and no contract. I call VZW and they say, well of course you don't have it - we only send mail out on Saturdays. WHAT????

first of all - that was never mentioned in the original call. I may have changed my mind and endured the wait and idiots at a b&m VZW store.

second - WTF? Verizon only send...

Moto v276??

I work at vzw and on our price strips it says on some of them you get a v265 or v276 for free after rebates... I can't find anything on a 276 at all. Any ideas on what this phone is or why it's on our price strips when we don't carry it. Intranet says its for when we run out of 265's but there are plenty of those..
