Unsolicited Text Messages

I'll start by stating that I have not read the entire thread on this subject. But I'm going to offer a couple basic observations anyway.

Some states, and perhaps the federal government have passed, or considering, regulations or legislation that will prohibit unsolicited text messages. And it is already illegal, at least in theory, for telemarketers to call your cell phone.

But the restriction on unsolicited text and cell phone calls is driven heavily by the fact that that incoming text and calls are billed to the customer.

If the message is free, the restriction may not be applicable.

In general, unless you opt out, the restrictions on unsolicited advertising do not apply to companies with whom you have an existing business r ...

Aggravated with my local store...

I've tried TWICE now to get the E815 from my local store/service center, no dice either time. Both times I was assured earlier in the day, or the previous day, that they had it in the warehouse meaning I could order it if it wasn't in stock at the store.

I was there tonight, apparently there's none in the warehouse despite what I was told yesterday, so they can't order it even. The guy showed me the screen showing no stock. He told me it's due for release on Monday, I said "funny, I heard it was supposed to be a national release this past Tuesday", one of the other employees just got a blank look on her face.

He started writing up my upgrade paperwork for that and another line on the plan, plus upgrades to the plan, then put a not...

VX6100 Question

In my moms house, her VX6100 gets like 3 bars of signal, but it fluctuates...goes down to 1, then up to 4, then 2 etc...It seems she can still make and receive calls fine though, she's really only cut off on me once, and she said the battery on it was low at the time too...Well, yesterday morning she woke up and it had full signal on her phone, but instead of the "1X" it had an "A". The retail rep at the store told me analog would be indicated by a triangle icon, so what is the "A"? If need be can you make the phone manually select that to get a stronger signal??

Just switched to Verizon, but the sound is not as clear as T-Moble

I just switched to Verizon Family plan and love the overall deal.In tex and Picture for $5.00 Great!!
One problem, the sound is not as clear as what I got with T-moble. I purchased two V-815 and a V 265. Love the V 815 features and that's why I switched , but the sound is allot less clear.
Has anyone else noticed this? Is this a location thing? I get a full signal at home with T-Moble and about half as much with Verizon. I expected Verizon to be better all around and was surprised about the sound clarity.
Any ideas? 😕

OK... so when WILL you have the V3 razor? seriously!

I know about the testing .. yeah yeah .. but for some reason vz seems to have the least attractive selection of phones. don't get me wrong, i've been with vz 10 years (gte first) and the service is fine .. but they seem to get the good phones later and later and sometimes not at all .. so now that cingular is already selling the v3, when will vz finally offer it?

bottom line on transferring cell phone pics and video?

I have heard that VZW phones do not allow for the sending of pics to another phone directly without a seperate fee (besides air time) but I have also heard that if you do not sign up for a service they will charge you $0.25 for each pic you send. A text message with a web link will be sent to the email address of the recipient and they can view the picture and download it / print it for free.

Can they view it on their cell phone If VZW customer and if they are another carrier?

What are the charges for sending / recieving video clips?

Backup Phone- workable idea?

Hey, I'm switching to Verizon. Primarily because of the coverage. I really want to get the e815, I'm fairly certain. However, it does not have analog support, which blows, especially as (ideally) I would love to have a phone that also does GSM for when I go to Europe. Not As important to me as awesome service where I live, which is why Verizon over Cingular, and why the e815 as my phone over a tri-mode.

Now, is it possible to have a second phone, which I use as a backup phone, and activate and use it where I need analog coverage? I don't really want to pay $20/month for a second line, just want to do, basically, an ESN swap when neccessary, but I'm not sure how quickly those would take effect, or if Verizon would care about, potentia...

New Samsung Phone, maybe?

Is there going to be a new samsung candy bar phone, with a slide out keyboard, sort of like the A630 from motorola. I could have swore I saw that a phone like that was going to be coming out soon, I just can't remember the model and if it is samsung or another manufacturer. Anyone know anything about this?

EVDO question

I am planning on buying the new LG 8100 when it is released. I want to access my MSN email account using the Mobile Web service as I have on my v710. Does the Mobile Web service work in conjunction with the VCast service so that the Mobile Web will take advantage of the hi-speed connection, or will it use the same (slow) connection like my v710? Can I access my pop3 account using VCast?

Wow-bad service yesterday from Verizon, caused them to lose a sale also....

I have the LG VX-8000 and am now getting my THIRD phone in 5 months due to software issues. I took this (2nd one) into the store, earlier in the week, and was told they need to replace it but they didn't have any in stock. I called Customer Service and they noted in my account that I would try another 8000 and if it glitches again then I can try another phone. I called Customer Service yesterday to see if that was still the case since I haven't swapped out #2 for #3 because the store is still out of refurbished stock. The CS clown told me that that was not the case and that I would have to keep replacing the phone (for 1 yr) until I could change equipment. He was rather rude and I will be sending in a complaint to Verizon.

The sad thi...

Porting over, but are there any new phones coming?

Ok so for many reasons I am leaving Cingular ASAP to come to Verizon. My cingular phone has horrible reception in my area since it competes with Canadas towers and cingulars phones dont allow me the option to stop it from roaming. Also the phone I have has horrible sound quality. However, I dislike verizons phone selection. Does anyone know if any new smaller verizon phones are coming out? If you do it would be very helpful. If no new ones are coming out soon, I will try to port to Sprint or maybe go back to T-Mobile which I had before Cingular and actually liked it pretty well. Thanks for all your help if you can provide it.
