Tethering with minutes of use

I currently have AC1 and can use my phone as a modem. I get 1x access and I am charged minutes of use. I am considering getting the E815, which has EVDO capability. It seems that it can be configured for DUN. My questions are:

If I go to AC2, will I still be billed MOU?

If I use EVDO, will I still be billed MOU?

Does VZW have plans to phase out MOU for data?

T-Mobile USA Possible Sale Damaging Verizon

It is said to be a viable option for Deutsche Telekom to sell T-Mobile USA.

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/07/04/deutsche_tel ... »

http://www.mobiletracker.net/archives/2005/07/03/t-m ... »

If Vodafone were to buy T-Mobile USA, this would surely spell doom for their stake in Verizon Wireless. Doing so would give Verizon Corp. full ownership of the wireless division, but they would be losing a very deep-pocketed financial backer in Vodafone. This could potentially put a huge burden on both Verizon and VZW to continue to invest as much money in their wireless network and services as they once did.

Any thoughts on this completely hypothetical situation as of now?

Higher fees for intenational dialing

The fees for international dialing have changed. Canada and Mex, which were $.20 a min plus airtime, are now $.49 a min. Calling most other countries is now $1.49 a min, with some as high as $2.50 a min. If you make international calls, check the website or call cust serv to find out for sure how much it is now. From a quick glance at the new rate structure, the Virgin Islands and a few others are still $.20 a min.

I'll take a better look at it today and report back.

As far as I know, if you have the international value pack, your rates still remain the same.

NE2

My wifes VX 6000 is up for NE2 discount on 8/10.
She is not very good about charging the phone in house and usually lets it hooked up to a in car charger. Last month, our son accidentally pulled the car charger out and didnot push the side buttons to release it and the charging port came out also. Now if I don`t bring the phone in , it doesn`t get charged. Do we have any early options to get a new phone?

That annoying volume problem with the a650

Does anybody have a workaround or know something I don't in regards to how the Samsung a650 volume controls work? If you have the 650's text messaging alert set to ring or beep...you can't control it further with the rocker switch on the side of the handset. In other words, if you're in a situation where you want to set your phone to vibrate, you can do so by using the rocker switch...but it doesn't control the messagimg alert. So comeone could call you and the phone would vibrate, but if they text you or leave a voicemail, the phone will still ring or beep quite loudly. Quite an annoying move on Samsung's part. From previous experience with Samsung models, the rocker switch on the side would control ALL sounds, alerts, etc...

v710 and what to do cause it dont work

I've had a v710 since last august and for the most part liked it. However they have replaced it 2 times so far and now the new replacement i just received is doing the same thing the old one was, which is rebooting when trying to send messages or read them and last night started doing it while trying to answer the phone. Tech said that they couldn't duplicate the problem and can't replace it again. Id rather have the new e815 but I'm not paying full price again, they cant do an early upgrade (not that i would like to pay for this) and they wont replace it until tech says so. What do i do??

Hey Verizon Sales Reps....

Do you guys have problems with third party sites like wirefly? We always have customers that want free V3 and of course being 199.99 on our site, we can't match that.

Out of stock??? WTF?

I placed the order online for the E815 last wed. A DAY AFTER IT CAME OUT, I just called to find out about the status of the order. They said they don't have any. This is a day after it came out... How can this happen? I am furious. When asked about when they'll be more available she just said: "I don't know" maybe next week... She also said that they sent me an email to tell me this, but I'm on vacation. I can't check my emails from work which is why I called to find out in the first place. How can a phone go out of stock the next day it comes out? I thought this would only happen at Cingular.

v710 vs e815

I am now told that the e815 is on hold because of a software issue. Are the differences between the e815 and the v710 so significant that I should wait or should I just get the v710 now? The price is the same and I don't anticipate much usage of the video features. Will the lack of analog limit me at all? I need a good phone. Period. I am stuck with verizon for a variety of reasons too painful to elaborate. Thanks.

update to Samsung a890???

Any word (confirmed or otherwise) on an update to Samsung's a890?? I'm thinking of switching over to Verizon but would like to take advantage of their EV-DO service.

1. How has EV-DO been so far?? Anyone noticing the difference is speed increase??

2. How is the a890?? I'm asking about updates to it because I would prefer to have a phone with Bluetooth.

3. I should be able to use whichever phone I get as a wireless modem for a PDA and still take advantage of the broadband speed right??

Thanks.

Was the E815 NOT a national release?

I'm in the capital-district of NY, in the Eastern part of the state 1/2 way between NYC and and the USA/Canada border for those that don't know geography. I was in my local store today, after I was told on the phone that the E815 was available through the warehouse, and they told me they had no in-store date for it yet. Apparently (this from another conversation last week) EV-DO isn't available here just yet, but it is in areas South, East and West of us such as NYC, Syracuse, Rochester, Hartford.

My local Circuit City ad had the E815 in it, and it shows on the site when I specify my Zip code, so it SHOULD be available in my area. The person in the store at the moment had no clue about the phone.

On another note, I plan on orderin...

Get it Now....you mean get more charges!

Ever since I started working in a call center for another much better company, I've been more anal about what charges I see on my phone. I noticed that I had used 200 or so minutes in 15 days one month compared to my usual 50 in an entire month. To say the least, I was puzzled since 99% of my calls are "In" and during the nights and weekends. (ha ha...just to give you an idea..in the same 15 days I had used 850 in minutes, and 300 nights and weekends). So I investigated further. I looked at who was on my phone bill. I continue to see this charge over and over that is from 000000007. And I have no idea what that is! So I call customer care, and after speaking to two people, I find out that it's the Get it Now feature.
I had it on my home pa...
