Warrenty replacement V710?

My V710 is really retarded. It has several issues. First of all, it will send me the same text message over and over every 2 or 3 minutes until I leave it off for a couple of hours. During this time, it won't let me send or recieve messages. Second, sometimes it drops a call and then won't let me recieve or make calls until I turn my phone off for a few hours (which is irritating since this is my only phone). Third, and this one is new, the phone will freeze, turn black, go to no service, and then go to the home screen. So if you are text messaging, then you lose everything. I called in and was directed to a store. Went to a store and he called in and said I had to go to a corporate store, and since there are only two in the entire state, th...

Battery Charging

I probably should have put this in the LG forum but it kind of applies to all phones and answers are slow to come over there so I am giving it a shot here.

My questions are about the wall chargers that you put your battery directly in. I have 2 LG 6100 phones, for which I have bought extended life batteries. So I have 2 regular and 2 extended batteries for each.
The reason I bought the extended is because my wife is bad about not charging her battery for days and then having to plug it in and not being able to carry the phone. I charge mine daily so I could use the regular battery and be fine, which I would prefer to do and go back to a smaller lighter phone because of the battery size.
If I use the wall charger and keep one batter...

How to switch Verizon sellers in 15 day period?

Hi,

my situation:
a week ago I switched from Sprint to Verizon and bought two e815 phones ($100 ea) at CircuitCity for a shared plan. I also moved over my phone #s.
Now, after a week, I figured that I don't like my e815 so much and rather want a treo 650. But CircuitCity is really expensive ($399), so I looked on the web and found younevercall.com with a treo for $199 and an e815 for free with new activation.

How can I best undo my circuitcity sale and get the phone deal from younevercall.com and still keep my phone#s?

All my stuff is in returnable condition, so I could cancel the entire CircuitCity-Verizon transaction within the 15 day period and start fresh at younevercall.com. But I'm not sure what would happen to my phone #s...

19% off you monthly bill!

If you are a New York City worker you can get 19% off you monthly bill! Very Happy You just have to fax your info and ID card to (212)533-2094 or Just call up and they will send you the form to fax back to them.
I'm sure it's not just here. So if you work for the man in another city I would give a call and give it a shot.
Oh it's just for service. Not for extras like get it now or vcast.

Wireless Internet Cards and Apple Laptops

In about a month I will be purchasing myself a wireless internet card for a laptop with the 59.99 Unlimitted National Access plan, however that's been settled already.

I'm also interested in purchasing an Apple product, laptop specifically. I want to purchase an iBook for simplicities' sake, however I run into one problem: I'm not sure if you're able to install a wireless internet card into an iBook. There are no external ports, and I'm not sure if you can install one without much problems on the inside...

Hidden charges on Mobile IM

I got Moto E815 a few days ago. Even if I was not going to do IM, I downloaded Mobile IM, just out of curiosity. Registered ID and password, explored the software, and ... when I checked my account info, it said I sent and received over 30 text messages! I didn't chat with anybody at all. I have never used text message service.

Today I found out every single exchange of data between the cell phone and the server is charged. Logging in, getting the buddy list, etc. This is crazy. Even the tech department did not know this and kept saying I (or somebody else) did "chat" using my phone. After this call, I found out the fact from a web site.

Does everyone know this?

2Q Info

From looking at the VZW website is looks like the 1Q results were filed with the SEC on the 12th of April and posted on the 27th of April. Following this logic I'm guessing that the 2Q may be out just not posted. Does anyone know if this info can be found anywhere else before it comes out on the VZW website? I can't find it on the SEC website.

May switch to Verizon. But have questions.

Can anyone tell me what advantages that Verizon has over Sprint, and Cingular. I have Cingular and they are charging me for stuff i didn't pay for then go back and say it a computer error. Does Verizon do this? Also if there are any disadvantages to Verizon please note these too.

store sales ethics

I was in a VZW store to copmpare the e815 with the vx8100 in my hands. Unfortunately they did not have a live E815 on hand (due to VCast software issues). While there, I overheard a sales person talk to a customer about the 8100 and then the 710. At no time did they mention the updated 710 (E815). Nor did they mention the history of the V710.

If the compensation package provided to sales reps promotes this type of sales than it should be changed to reflect full disclosure and education of the consumer.

I was under the impression that sales reps earn more money from a new plan versus a phone sale so why would a sales rep at a company store do this? Obviously they did not have a E815 to hand the person but they did not give them an...

Reception of New and Old Phones

I'm still using my old v60i, which I'm happy with, but the battery is shot so I'm debating whether to upgrade or replace the battery. I don't care about new features like a camera or color screen, but I was recently in a large hotel and noticed that a friend with an LG VX-7000 on Verizon had a perfect digital signal, while I had none. As far as I know, both these phones use the same CDMA technology. Is there a reason for the different coverage? I update my roaming capabilities (dial *228 ) regularly, but we were closer to his home area if that makes any difference. Would a new phone get better coverage than my current one? What about AMPS coverage? Is this still necessary on the Verizon network? I travel through Vermont, New Hampshir...

E815 or V710

I really like both of these phones. But I'm no expert on cell technology here. When I checked the modes, I see where the v710 has AMPS850 and the E815 does not. What effect does this have on coverage? I travel the U.S., a lot of which is in US Cellular areas and many remote other remote areas. Any comments on how the E815 lacking feature can affect coverage?

Thanks for the help!

Question for Verizon Employees

My friend and I both currently have Verizon Wireless. I am under contract until 2007 while he is currently out of contract. He is leaning towards Cingular and I am trying to keep him on Verizon because I truly believe Verizon is the best Wireless Network available. Cingular offered him 12% off his monthly bill because he was a student at the college in our town. I am also a student there and I called Verizon from the Cingular store and asked if they had any discounts like that available. The CS was very friendly and said unfortunately no, but I can give you 100 extra bonus minutes a month for the next year. 1200 minutes total spread out of 12 months. I was just wondering how are they able to do that? Also what reasons can I give my fr...

Returns

Ok, I upgraded my phone (T720) to a E815. I bought it online. I was not happy with it. The sound quality of the handset didnt live up to the one on my moto V551 (my other cell) anyway, I sent it back, they got it at the wear house on july 22nd. My questions is; how long will it take for my contract to be reversed so I can bring that number to cingular. I am very happy with how much my service with cingular has improved. It hasn't until I tested (I put my v551 on one ear and the e815 on my other ear) that I realized what I had heard before and just couldn't or maybe didn't want to belive. GSM's voice clarity is better than CDMA's.

2Q Results Coming Soon - Any Predictions?

Well, the 2Q results for all carriers should be out in the next week or two... anyone care to take an educated guess at what's gonna happen?

For myself, I have a hard time envisioning a scenario where Verizon doesn't win in customer adds again. And with their Family Share add-a-line at $9.99, while Cingy jumped up to $14.99, it may not even be close this quarter. VZW's rapid EV-DO rollout is probably having some effect as well.

I guess Sprint & Nextel combined might have a shot, but I don't think they're reporting their results as a combined company yet- anyone know when they'll start? 😕

It'll also be interesting to see what happens in churn. VZW reported some amazing churn numbers last quarter, gotta wonder if it can get any bet...

Any call center reps?

I am curious how other centers work than my own. As a general rule, if you are scheduled 2 to 11 you must be at work around 10 minutes early to log in to your computer and be ready to clock in at 2 to take calls. So basically you are being required to work 10 minutes before your shift unpaid, which seems unfair and unethical
Is this the norm for all VZW call centers?

Does Anyone Know............

How the forthcoming Samsung 970 will stack up against the 8100 and 815?

Does Samsung generally have better quality control and on the whole puts out better phones than LG and Motorola?

Anything is possible but I presume the hope is that what we just saw with the release of the 8100 and 815 - will not be repeated with the 970 - can anyone comment on that?

Phonescoop states a 3rd quarter release - can anyone on the inside confirm that the phone will likely be released prior to 9/30/05?

Thanks
