Verizon Firewall Blocking Some UDP Traffic?

Anybody else seeing this? Or have an explanation?

We have an application that involves two handsets communicating with each other by way of a server in the middle. The traffic is a combination of TCP and UDP. It's been working fine for about two years now, until lately.

We've lately been having trouble that looks like a firewall somewhere in the middle preventing the server from talking UDP to the handset until the handset has first talked to the server. Once the handset talks to the server on a particular port, the server can send UDP on that port freely for a few minutes. Then after a few (idle) minutes, the curtain comes down and the handset has to initiate again before the server can get through to it.

We started having thi...

slider's

I have noticed several different slider phones in the pipeline from Samsung and LG and a couple of outher manufactuers. Does anyone have any inside info on Verizon carrying any of these models? I love the style of the slider but i also want quality so when i saw the sam's and the LG i thought they may have developed something solid.

Any info would be great.

Question for Verizon Sales peeps

I'm switching from a regional carrier due to a new job. I'd like a national carrier and don't know much about them. I do not want to sign a contract because I will be moving around alot due to a job change don't want to be stuck with penalties if the service is unavailable or spotty. Verizon seems to be a good choice.Anyway, Can I buy a phone say off of Ebay and get Verizon month to month service? I see alot of good prices there on some really nice phones that do not have a specific service mentioned. I don't know if they can be used for Verizon or not.
Thanks

Verizon surpasses all expectations
By Dan Meyer
Apr 27, 2005

Surpassing even the most optimistic forecasts, Verizon Wireless said it added 1.64 million subscribers during the first quarter of this year, ending the quarter with 45.5 million total subscribers. The results topped larger rival Cingular Wireless L.L.C.'s 1.4 million net additions as well as the 1.39 million subscribers Verizon Wireless added during the first quarter of 2004.

Analysts were expecting Verizon Wireless to post around 1.4 million net customer additions for the quarter.

People who are reeeeeally behind on things

Do any of you get calls from people looking for PrimeCo? I receive no less than four calls a day looking for SBC Wireless, and I figured the problem couldn't be isolated to only one company. If it is, I think I'll cry.

Corperate stores

I've been reading this forum for months and finally decided to post on this. I saw the statements about how Verizon Wireless has gone down hill in sales rep knowledge and customer service.....

Well sales rep knowledge, I would like to start with I am alot more knowledgeable then any other rep in my store, yet I do not know everything and will tell you I dont know. A customer comes in and says my calender isnt syncing with outlook how do I setup active sync to make the computer sent the calender to the device? I dont know, I dont own a treo, But I do as you should have before you came in the store and I open the book and show you the answer.... There is to much for anyone to know everything about every phone, they have become very complica...

2 More Weeks

If you go to Verizon's website today, they are endind the promo on their buy on get one camera phones in 10 days!!! They spell it out on their front page.

This would lead one to belive that soon after they end the promo for their old phones their trying to get rid of we cant start to expect to see the release of their new ones... the e815, tr650, a970, vx8100, etc.
