I am currently a T-Mobile employee and looking to find out what you really think of the job. Do you enjoy working for Verizon? Does it pay well? Can you possibly supply a range of pays? Hows the benefits? Please advise.

Firmware question

My GF's roommate is in BAD need of a new phone. VZW Nokia is fallin apart and she's nowhere near her upgrade date.

I've got an ALLTEL v60x that should work, given the proper firmware and programming. Here's the question: Were I to accompany her and speak with a rep in a VZW COR store (she'd never know what to tell them) would it be possible for them to flash my ALLTEL v60x with VZW firmware in house and let her use it? On the flipside, is it possible to flash it with the proper firmware from home? (I'm not sure if online updates are offered by VZW, but it's worth a shot.)

She really needs a new phone and I hate seeing my perfectly good phone go to waste.

Frequency Question

Just curious, is the Enhanced Services Network (VZW owned towers) run on straight 1900 MHz or both 800 and 1900 MHz?

Raising The Bar?? When is the last time you have seen a report like this regarding Verizon Wireless

Food for thought for those thinking that Cingular is raising the bar, but heck they did have a great cop out in the story below from WirelessWeek.com

Cingular Service Disrupted in San Diego
By Susan Rush
April 8, 2005
news@2 direct

For a few hours yesterday, some Cingular Wireless customers in San Diego found themselves temporarily without service.

The network outage, which caused intermittent service disruptions, lasted a few hours yesterday, according to Cingular Wireless spokesman Ritch Blasi. Service to all customers has since been restored, he says.

Cingular Wireless, with 50 million customers, merged with AT&T Wireless in October to create the largest wireless service provider in the United States. The outage was no...

Potential New Verizon Customer

I recently tried Sprint but the coverage was so bad (I live in Las Vegas - Summerlin actually) - that I returned it under their 14 day policy. I hear that Verizon has better coverage (not only here but in many parts of the USA) - here are my questions:

1) Are there any Las Vegas/Summerlin Verizon users that can tell me how their coverage is and whether they have a decent signal in most parts of Las Vegas.

2) Also, we may be moving next year to the California Central Coast (SLO/Pismo Beach) area - how are Verizon's signals there?

3) I keep reading that a couple of new phones will be arriving shortly (LG 8100 and the Motorola 815) that will be a great improvement - would it be better for me to take out a new contract AFTER those pho...

Here is the deal

I heard about this site, thought I may try and set you all straight.

The arguments presented are: Cingular is the best; Verizon is the best; T-Mobile is the best; US Cellular is best, etc.

The problem is: Most base these claims on facts that are mad up, or grossly manipulated. You see, I have worked closely with a wireless carrier for quite some time. I will not disclose that carrier.

SO lets dive into this issue hip deep.

Network quality/coverage:

Cingular- Has the largest all digital network.

Verizon- has the most dependable (according to unbiased un affiliated sources)

T-Mobile- Has a satisfactory sized foot-print, most urban/sub-urban users have dependable coverage.

US CC- Has an Orwellian Nationinal network (Orwe...

Moved to WV and no Verizon Service...

I just moved out from NJ to Morgantown, West Virginia to finish off my college experience at WVU and i was wondering if it would be possible for me to swich from Verizon (which has no coverage) to Sprint who does have coverage in the area and not be charged for the early termination fee.

My hats off but the Grave is dug

I just wanted to congratulate Verizon on a good run you managed to get up to 44 million customers but now you are going to fall behind in the market because of Cingualr and T-Mobile and the GSM technology did you know their is a global association that is trying to push this technology all across the world due to it's overwhelming success in Japan and europe. Verizon you just arn't going to be able to keep up in the future and bet you in 10 years you will have dropped far below Cingular and even be behind T-Mobile that's not an insult or anything it's just that these are the 2 major GSM companies and the potential this technology has is going to put those 2 companies at the top and keep them their unless Verizon thinks very seriously about h...

Seriously what has either carrier done for you that you would sit and post some bogus posts.

Moto V710

So my contract is coming up, and I need a new phone. I work for cingular (although it isn't available in my area) so I know a little bit about phones, and I want a cool phone. I was set on the LG8000, but after holding it, I realized it was ugly and heavy. I'm thinking about the 710 (I felt it at a store), but the one thing I loved about the LG phones is I could record ringtones, by recording sound (I know the quality isn't great, but it's better than paying Verizon for them)..can this phone do it? Has anyone had the 8000 or 7000 and do they have an opinon either way?

Amazon.com cell phones... good or bad idea?

I just noticed you can get cell phones through Amazon.com and they offer insane rebates so even a phone like the Motorola V710 ends up being free. For other phones they pay you $100 to take them. Is this too good to be true? If I were to buy a phone through them could I bring it to a Verizon Wireless store if I ever needed help?

Any thoughts would be appreciated ๐Ÿ˜‰

Best phone for me?

I'm switching from AT&T to Verizon on the 13th, I was looking at getting the e815 but that doesn't look like it will be out by then, was hoping it would be out like april 1st...I want something with tons of features, camera, can use with my laptop to get online, preferibly IrDA or bluetooth, memory expansion, and mp3@128k quality ringtone support, is there anything like this for verizon? I suck at picking out phones as my last 2 have ended up sucking, not that at&t had a vast selection...
