Verizon subsidiary in Puerto Rico??

According to the new AC coverage map, Puerto Rico is partially covered (the map is very similar to Sprint's coverage in PR).

When I traveled to PR, my Verizon phone had very good signal in basically every place I went ("Extended Network, flashing roaming indicator). Now, I understand that Verizon has a very strong presence in PR. Over there, they are called "Verizon Wireless Puerto Rico" and THEIR coverage map is different than the one from VZW USA. Their map actually covers basically all the island. That map would explain why my phone received good signal almost everywhere I went. But, why are the maps different? And why did my phone (VZW USA) display "Extended Network" while in PR, when Verizon's presence in PR is solid? (well, remember...

over worked and underpaid?

Authorized dealer reps:
Does anyone else work 9 or 11 hours shifts without breaks or 40+ hours with no overtime pay, or how about personal commission quotas that are higher than what the whole store sells?

(just wondering if I am alone in this biz)

p.s. or how about selling returned phones to customers as if they are brand new?

Samsung SPH-A680

I see on phonearena.com that Verizon is supposed to be releasing the Samsung SPH-A680. Looks to be kind of a tri-mode version of the SCH-A670. Anyone know if that is true and if so, any rumors of a release date?

New LG models?

Has anyone heard anything on LG coming out with anything new for VZW? I have the 7000 and I'm due up soon.. but the 8000 doesn't thrill me.. It's too big and bulky (the 7000 is already to big in my eyes), and I don't get VCast coverage where I live yet. Help? 🙄

Wallpaper...

Does anyone know where I can get wallpaper for this phone. I have the data cable and can use that to transfer them. I have searched online and came across some sites with cool wallpapers, but you have to buy them. And you can't take a picture or save it because it has the watermark on it. Any help?

LG vx4700 PTT blunder?

I had a chance to mess around with a 4700 today and I noticed that the dedicated PTT button isn't exactly practical. Has anyone else noticed this? Or am I just crazy?

Signal strength on lg 8000?

Does anyone out there have any info on the lg 8000 signal strength? Is it as good as the v710? or is it real spotty like the 6100? Is this phone (8000) a good phone from Verizon to purchase as far as quality and signal or rf strength??

Missing calls

I purchased a VX6100 over the weekend. Since then I’ve received maybe a dozen phone calls, however I’ve been told four times that people have tried calling me and my phone didn’t ring or ever show a missed call. My reception isn’t perfect in my apartment (where I have received and missed most of my calls), but it’s around 3 bars, so I don’t think that’s what’s causing it, and since it was just activated I’m assuming it has current software (??). Anyone know what could be the problem?

Also, on another note, are there any applications for the VX6100 that can keep track of checking/credit card account balances? I know that the applications on Get It Now don’t do it, but I was hoping there was a site that had what I’m looking for.

Thanks....

Does anyone know when the E815 will be released?

Due to the fact of blatantly false advertising its product, I like many other customers were sucked into buying the V710. We all know the sob story with that and I need not to comment about it. Does this phone also have the blue-tooth features deactivated or is this Verizons way of trying to offer a "oops I'm sorry for deactivating the features on the V710" phone and saying well we made a mistake and now we fixed it by offering a fully functional phone? Maybe offer this phone for a reduced rate or free for the deceived owners of the v710 if all the features are enabled. Any info will help and also does any one know when Verizon is going to offer a high end PTT phone? ex) the E815 with PTT or something like it. All the help or info will b...

v60s and Cellsocket

Howdy!

I am intending to port my home phone number to a new Verizon phone. I then want to obtain a Cellsocket porting station so I can use my home phone lines via my cell phone.

The CellSocket only works with Motorola and Nokia phones.

I want to get Verizon service as it's the only service along the North Shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota (where I spend a lot of time).

Does anyone know if the new V60s by Motorola will work with the CellSocket? I read somewhere (I can't remember where) that the V60s is thicker than the other V60 models due to the speakerphone. When the v60s originally came out, I read that the phone is narrower than the v60P (ptt model) but does anyone know if it's thicker than the other v60 models (like the ...

The LG7000, or the LG8000

Hello,

I am breaking down and going with a new phone, an all digital, and yes, it has a camera, which, I don't need, but, it is there.

I have gone with the LG 7000, The 8000 has the speaker phone, but that is about the only thing that it has that I would like that the 7000 does not have, my area does not have vcast, and I don't know that i would use it. I went with the all digital since where I am at, my phone is always on digital anyway.

My question is..Should I have gone with the 8000 just for the speaker phone. and on top of that, I am already reading of problems of the 8000 shutting off on it's own, and freezing up. I will be under my 15 days yet, so any information will be appreciated on these 2 phones, I have seen pretty go...

Now that Audiovox is GONE, will we ever see Toshiba Phones Sold by Verizon?

I had a great experiences with the Toshiba "built for Audiovox" 9000, 9500, and now the 9900. Since Audiovox sold off their Cell Phone Division, will Verizon make any future attempts to procure the future Toshiba built platforms? 😢

The date by which Verizon must go all digital

Does anyone know the date by which Verizon must go all digital? I have heard conflicting dates.

Also, once that date comes, what will happen to Verizon's roaming agreements with small carriers who still operate on analog? I understand that those small carriers won't have to go all digital by the same date as Verizon. Assuming that such is the case, will Verizon be allowed to continue roaming agreements with these small carriers while they remain analog?

PRL Update Question

I think I'm SOL, but I thought I would ask the question here. Here is the situation.

I have been a verizon customer for a while and using my phone in all kinds of areas. However, I just got a new LG VX6100 from my local Verizon store. I specifically asked CSR if he updated the PRL and he told me yes. And I promptly left town. I am now in a roaming area where other people with the same verizon phone as me have service. My only conclusion is that the CSR didnot update the PRL. Is there anything that can be done or do I have to wait until I get back home to fix this problem.
