Why Verizon gets rid of phones that work?

I figured that there is a way to start a list as to the phones that verizon gets rid of because they work, and probably because they work to good

I will start the list out with this phone.

The Lg 4400, phone works like a champ, don't drop calls, and probably works to good, so, verizon dropped it....and the 4500 is not a replacement for it, not even close. And, if verizon kept offering that phone, Lg would still be making it.

What are some of the phone that you people have had in the past that you feel were great phones and probably just worked to good?

Oooo..I want a nice phone, but I'm broke lol

Okay, so I'm renewing and looking at phones. I've been rather deprived when it comes to new phones considering that I also end up going with the lower end free phone. Well not this time around. I want a camera, video phone and I want it to record sound (my friend has an LG and it does this. He can record music and use it as ring tones, and even though the quality is not very good, I think I want to do that.). I'm thinking I'm going to spend 100 to 150 with a 2 year contract...what do you guys recommend?

SBC vs Verizon

For those of you who keep harping on Cingualrs losses, do some homework........

SBC is a healthy holding company (despite Cingular Wireless) and can and will support Cingular though any storm...in fact if you care to look at the stock price this year Verizon is down 15% from Dec where SBC is only down 5%

and that is the REAL market talking....Can you hear me now?

The execs are certainly burning the midnoight oil over there at VErizon....they have no SBC to bail them out should they start slipping.....Vodaphone?

Bluetooth Lawsuit

Okay, I'm a Verizon Wireless customer service representative, and I'm going to comment on this.

Of course, what I'm about to say is my personal opinion, and I am not speaking on behalf of VZW.

Advertising and hype for the V710 led customers to believe that file transfer would be available through the Bluetooth technology in the phone.

None of the collateral explicitly stated that it would be available, and verizonwireless.com has a page that explains that VZW currently supports only the DUN, handsfree, and headset profiles for Bluetooth. But this page is buried in multiple links. Even some salespeople might have thought that OBEX file transfer would be available on the V710, especially during the hype before the phone was released a...

Does Cingular phone work on Verizon network?

I was wondering why Cingular phones can't work on the Verizon network since they seem to operate on the same frequency? I'd assume it would be simple switch (software..?). Does anyone know if this is possible? Of course, my motivation is the Treo 650, but I realize that if this were doable than so many others probably would have by now but since I didn't see anything out there regarding this I thought I'd ask.....

TOLD YA SO........VErizon is weak...

I posted nearly a year ago predicticting Cingular will overtake VErizon. After shopping for new service and finding the VErizon reps arrogant and condescending, I decided to go with Cingular.

After friends of mine could not get a reliable CDMA signal in Atlantic City, Las Vegas and Branson MO, I decided to go with Cingular.

After checking out phones and features and prices, I decided to go with Cingular.

After realizing Verizons' huge network is mainly bragging rights to getting a signal in the deep woods where the buffalo roam...and not necessarily metro areas I decided to go with Cingular

Its been a year, I recently drove from LAs VEgas to Myrtle BEach on I40 and had signal every time I needed it.

I predicted Verizon will f...

new question for the "no roam" plan

I just tried to add a line to my family AC plan, I am on the older one that allows roaming, I asked them if I add a line if I get to stay on the older plan, and the answer from not one, not 2, but 3 different sales people was NO, you have to change to the new no roam plans if you add a line, if I don't, then I am grandfathered in and will stay on the older plan, they also said that I can renew my contracts for new phones and keep the old plan, but not adding a line.

I am assuming that this must be true, but, if there is a verizon rep out there that knows different, let me know.

They also told me that on the new no roam plan, that when you are in an area that is no service, your phone will say no service, but, you can still make a call ...

Hat's off, VZW

As many of you know, VZW is being sued for blocking certain bluetooth functions of one of it's phones. Well, I'm not sure if this has been suggested or not, and if I missed it in a prior post I apologize.

Bluetooth uses a non-secure radio frequency that spans approximately 30 feet. With devices that are enabled to share data, bluetooth can link up and "talk" to eachother.

So today, my friend asked me if I thought it was possible to hack into someones phone and access their addressbook, phone etc...using another bluetooth device. Honestly, I didn't know if it was possible. With all the talk about vzw getting sued for bluetooth crippling, t-mobile getting some bad press for a server being hacked into we decided to test that theory. Her...

Moving / Changing Numbers ?

Having to do some contracting work for a network firm, getting sent out of state. I figure since I'll be there for 6 months I'd get my number changed... can I go to a VZW store here or just call *611 and have CS set that up before I get there or will I have to locate a VZW retailer in the state I'm relocating to??

Thanks guys, like always!

Wireless Telecommunications Consumer Protection Act

What would happen if it became illegal for carriers to blacklist blocks of manufacturers' electronic serial numbers - requiring that carriers honor any third-party handset on their network?
