Cingular and Verizon in Atlanta

Hey all I currently have Verizon and live in Atlanta. I live in the metro area so cvg is good wherever I go. I was wondering which one (if you live in Atlanta) is better. Both pretty much offer same plans at the same prices and Cingular has some pretty cool phones. In regards to Verizon, coverage has been awesome. What do you all think??

a friend of mine lost a phone. is it possible that if someone found it and tried to set it up for them own personla account, verizons computers would show the phone as lost/stolen, take the phone away, and contact my friend that the phone has been found. or is the phone lost forever and whoever finds it can use it for themselves?

thanks

VZW in StL

this was taken out of the latest news article on the home page of phonescoop.

Bidding on Auction 58 closed yesterday raising a total of $2.25 billion in 91 rounds of bidding. Metro PCS's $374.5 million dollar bid for Los Angeles remained the highest single bid for a lot since the first day. Metro PCS also won spectrum in a number of mid-sized cities in Florida, helping their proxy to remain the top bidder. Verizon had two proxies, finishing second and third in spending, and so was the top bidding tier one carrier. They won lots all over the country, most notably spending $141 million for St. Louis and winning one of the hotly contested lots in both Houston and San Diego. T-Mobile was high bidder for one of the lots in both Seattle and Cl...

New Any 2 Question

I did a search and couldn't find an answer so sorry if this has been posted before.
My new any 2 is in april and my fiancee is up in may 2005. How early will they allow you to use that? ideally we would ike to use our ne2 at the same time and then switch to a family share plan.
Please advise.
Thanks

Bluetooth & Lexus Question............

I have paired the v710 (Verizon) and the Lexus.

It mutes the radio and auto answers the phone. OK...great so far.

I have heard that you can load the phone numbers one at a time.

Is this possible and how?

If it is not possible, how do you put phone numbers in the phone system on the Lexus?

I just can't figure it out. I am willing to manually put in one number and name at a time, but cannot figure out how????

Thanks.

Verizon's new voicemail system

I received a voicemail on my phone today from Verizon, informing me that, commencing on March 9, 2005, Verizon will be instituting a new voicemail system. The voicemail said that one of the differences between the new system and the old is that it will be possible to access all functions with one key and another is that it will be possible to save or delete the messages before listening to them in their entirety.

Does anyone know anything further about this new voicemail system?

Where is the best place to buy VERIZON? RS or VZ Store?

I wanted to know what everyone thinks about the different places you can buy Verizon. The main ones being the Verizon Store and Radio Shack. I know for a fact that Radio Shack is cheaper.

phone upgrade

Does anyone know, when Verizon changes prices on phones? I'm eligible for an upgrade, but I don't want to buy now & see the price drop next week. I like the LG7000 & now that the LG8000 is out, I expected the price to drop.

question for Verizon rep

I switched from ATT to Verizon 13 months ago. I have had so many problems with my Samsung a530s: had it changed twice, software had to be upgraded twice, and the phone does not work well in my apt. I was told by tech support that I need to switch to a tri-band phone and even had tech support tell me that Samsung are not the best phones in terms of quality.

I have spoken to customer service and the store manager very politely and explained the problem and hassles I have been through. Basically, they want to give me an early upgrade price and will not give me any sort of discount on switching phones.

I am very annoyed about this. Any advice?

Slider's

I saw that LG and Samsung have several slider type phones in production. Does anyone know if verizon has any plans on introducing a new slider model? I know the SE47 was a little unstable but w/ LG putting a line of sliders out there i have to believe it will be built alot better.

thanks

Phone Selection

I'm not trying to start a war here, but I keep reading "Verizon doesn't have any cool phones" ... can someone tell me why that is? I mean as it stands now they have at least one phone that would probably meet your needs of feature combination. The only thing I could think of is the very small % of people who want BT w/ OBEX. Other than that I can NOT think of a popular feature that a Verizon phone doesn't have. Here's my list of features so far:

* Camera: Video, Flash, Zoom, Memory Card
* Speakerphone
* Color Screen: Inside and Outside
* Voice Commands

What else could people possibly want in a phone? (Again), other than the small % of people who want BT w/ OBEX.
