V Cast Free for Two Months?

My husband and I just bought the LG VX8000. We knew we had to get VCast to fully take advantage of the phone's features. Do we still get the first two months free?

thank you Verizon for excellent superbowl coverage!

I am currently in Jacksonville for the super bowl and I would just like to send out a big thank you to verizon for providing excellent coverage down here, while my family members (who all have cingu-crap) were dropping calls constantly. Thank you verizon for once again proving why you are #1.

Abou this worst phones reputation!

I have verizon wireless for a little over a year now and i can not understand why everyone has the impression that they offer the worst phones? what makes the phones that other carriers like cingular and t-mobile offer any more amazing (aside from bluetooth which only a small percent of customers ACTUALLY use)? I find the lg6100 and cdm9900 EXCELLENT phones

will verizon ever go GSM????????

I have a question for all the tech buffs out there. Does anyone know or as has anyone heard of Verizon ever converting to GSM? I've heard from people on both sides meaning both Cingular and Verizon that Verizon will eventually have to switch over to GSM.

I don't personally see why they would ever have to switch seeing as how good and reliable there network currently is! But what does the future hold for CDMA? is Ev-DO as far as it goes? or is there something even better in the works?

If anyone else has some knowledge into this please let me know. Who will ultimately have the better service in say a year Verizon or Cingular?? Also is live T.V. coming to Verizon now that they have ev-do? you know like mobi tv?

When will Verizon get new phones with qwerty or thumb keyboards?

I want a phone with a QWERTY or thumb keyboard but I do not want a phone/PDA combination. Does anyone know when Verizon is going to start offering phones with this option? All the other carriers have them why is it taking Verizon so long to provide its customers with the newest and latest equipment available?

Pay my ETF and I'll switch tomorrow

I came home from work today to find my pre-approval notice from the office of the Vice President of Cingular, Jace Barbin. I guess he considers me a good risk. Probably because I am.

So here's my offer. If Cingular pays my ETF I'll agree to leave my one year contract with Vzw and sign a 2 year contract with them. I can remember not so long ago a csr telling me that MCI would pay the cost of switching my phone service to theirs, and to switch it back if I wasn't satisfied.

I would much rather be contracted with a wireless provider that allows me to use my phone the way it was designed to be used, rather than with a provider that dumbs it's equipment down in order to squeeze a few more pennies out of me.

So what do you say Cingular? A...

One last gasp. Need RF Phone Recommendations for Fringe area signal--ASAP!

Here's the deal. I'm in a 1900 (PCS) area and am experiencing very marginal RF reception on a 6100. I know I can force mode to the 800 band but I don't want to or have to be switching back and forth necessarily. Currently the LG 6100 hunts in and out between the main network, extended, and occassionally, no service throughout the day at my desktop at work.

I've tried a 7000 and an 8000. Similar results though obviously digital only switching.

I can't take it any more.
For me a 710 is out of the running. My questions are this:

FOR THOSE WHO HAVE ONE:
--Will a Moto v265 pull stronger than the 6100 in an identical area? Enough to make a call where the 6100 will not at -104 or so Rx. power?

--Same question for the Nokia 60...

Newbie questions... (phone/service related).

I'm a newbie here, but I've been a Verizon customer for probably around 8 years now (back then it was Bell Atlantic Mobile in my area)... anyway, recently I started looking into phones such as the Samsung SCH-i600 and Kyocera 7135. One of my biggest needs is being to synchronize with my Outlook (at work), have my To Do list, etc. Just your basic Outlook/Exchange type stuff. As I started looking more into phones I also realized I'd like other features as well, such as bluetooth; finally there's such a thing as a 'universal' car kit since I can use any phone which supports bluetooth if I used a Bluetooth car kit.

My questions are as follows:
1) Am I able to buy and activate a 3rd party "unlocked" phone which may not be offered by Verizon, ...

What are my options?

Hello, I am a VZW customer, and have been with them since early 2000 in the days of Ameritech cellular. My current phone is a Samsung SCHa310 (the thing is literally falling apart, so I need a new phone), and my contract expires at the end of April.

If VZW offered a Treo 650, I would stay on with them. They don't. So, I could switch to Cingular (which seems like a good option for Chicago) or Sprint (which is sucky in Chicago). Or I could get another phone from VZW (which might be okay, as a lot of friends are on the IN-network), but I would like a comparable phone to the 650.

So, here are 2 questions:

a) Would Cingular buy out my contract if I switched?
b) Is there a cool Treo-650 like offering from VZW?

New Phone

Hello,

I am already a Verizon customer and have LG VX6000, however I would like to purchase the LG VX8000. The only thing holding me back is the fact that I am still under a 2 year contract with them. So that would mean I am not eligible for the New Every Two or to get the phone at a cheaper rate than the $389. Any help?

Thanks,

Dan

Palm SmartPhones?

However, does anyone know and willing to unofficially disclose if VZW is planning to offer a new Palm-based Smartphone.

Rumor has it that VZW is not planning to carry the Treo 650 and frankly, I understand VZW's decision since it doesn't support EV-DO and the way it uses memory. It also doesn't have WiFi.

I currently have a Treo 600 which has an SMS bug which VZW & Palm is addressing some day.

In the meanwhile, I purchased the VZ6600 and I'm not altogether pleased with it so far. The phone is fine as far as PPC devices go (great screen and multimedia capabilities) but I prefer the form factor and intuitive nature of Palm Smartphones. I have a laptop and don't need to carry an equivalent in my hand.

I know VZW doesn't like to p...

I'm going to be in London for a week this summer. Is there a rental program through VZW, and how much is it going to cost?
