I hear Cingular is raising the bar. Does anyone know why the guy in the convertible in their add has to Drive all the way to San Fran to use his phone?? The poor girl didn't even have time to get ready due to his poor communication ability with his Cingular phone.

samsung i640/645, samsung i730

I called verizon customer service to ask about these phones. They said they didnt have any information on it, but the woman was nice and put me on hold while she called Samsung. Samsung told her that they didn't have any information on the phone other than that it was going to be released overseas first. I called Samsung after that and they wouldnt give me any information. Does anyone know anything about this, cause I'm dying to get one of these things

A familiar plea...

Just to get this out of the way, I've read through the forum and the user reviews, and am posting this message only to get information to supplement what has already been said.

My NE2 is about up, and I'm trying to decide on a new phone. The problem is, I absolutely require analog (yes i really need it, and not just that I think I do).

I've thus far narrowed my selection down to the 6100 or the v265. The most important thing for me is reception and call quality. I plan to use it for communicating and could care less about the camera (so i don't need to hear about how crappy the v265 camera is). Also, I'm aware of the volume bug with the 6100. What I'm looking for is anyone who is familiar enough with both of these phones to be able t...

Cingular VS. Verizon??

Cingular added over 1.8 million Customers in 1 Quarter alone, churn only decreased 0.01%, also distracted by the merger of two large companies we were probably only 75% focused, and we still made history, Verizon 100% focused couldnt do that in one of there good quarters what do you think will happen next?

Laptop for email or smartphone? Switching to Verizon

I am dumping Nextel for Verizon next week. I was thinking of a smart phone but only occasionally need to check email remotely. Am I better off with laptop for email than a $500 smart phone and the monthly $44 web fee?

If I don't get the smart phone then I am looking at the LG 6100. Good Choice??

Calls from Bermuda

My wife is in Bermuda on a business trip. I need to find out how per/minute the calls will cost. I called customer service twice this morning and could not get an answer. I was told by the International Calling Department that they do not have info on Bermuda. Will these calls be $1/min or $10/min? Any help is appreciated.

Buy via Internet or go in person

I am up for the new every two and I want to get my new phone. I am just looking for advice as to where the best place to buy a phone is. Are there better deals online than in the stores and if so what websites have you used to get your phone (if it is different than verizonwireless.com) I have already checked out phones in the stores so I don't really need to do anymore lookin but I do want to get the best deal possible. Thanks in advance.

R.I.P Nokia 3589i...Hello, Samsung a650!

My Nokia finally bought the farm (4 and 6 keys no longer working). I replaced it with the a650. Hopefully my good luck with Samsungs will continue (God bless the a500).

P.S. I even got it for $45 without extending my contract!

8940 vs. 890

On Tuesday, I purchased the 8940 because of its compactness and features (esp. speakerphone). I noticed two major problems with the phone.

First, the reception was significantly worse than expected. I carried the phone along with the Motorola V710, and found the 710 found signal and received calls consistently in marginal areas where the 8940 did not.

Further, in marginal reception areas, the 8940 as expected would switch to "extended network." When I returned to normal reception areas (4-5 bars of signal strength), the phone remained in extended network mode, but would not receive incoming calls. A caller would get 5 rings and then be diverted to voice mail.

These problems persisted despite my exchanging the original 8940 for a new...

Class Action Arbitration Filed in New York

Kirtland & Packard, in partnership with a NYC law firm, filed a Demand for Class Action Arbitration in New York on January 20, 2005.

An arbitration usually gets relief much faster than a lawsuit. The firm is seeking, among other things, damages, updates to V710 phones sold to date for full Bluetooth capabilities, and to stop Verizon from selling V710s with disabled Bluetooth.

Anyone interested should fill out the form on this page:

Push To Talk

I know this has been a common thread, so I apologize in advance.

I heard this service was being re-worked and they were going to re-launch with new phones, but I haven't heard anything since and none of the reps seems to know anything about it....

Is there anyone who knows what's going on with this service???
