Removing Verizon wireless banner for v710

I know that on other vzw phones LG, Audiovox, etc that you can have a tech shoot a generic prl and remove the vzw banner. However I was told by a few techs that you can't do that to the v710 when because there is a lock on it. I talked to moto they said it was though my carrier. Can someone please help and clearify if it can be done for my phone. Thank you in advance.

push to talk

😕 Does anyone have an inside source when Verizon is going to roll out there push to talk again. I have seen there are new phones coming but when. I heard that verizons PTT is going to be bigger than sprint/nextel?

I want to get a PTT but I don't want to wait for ever either. Sprints customer service sucks other wise I think I would switch to get there Ready link which is the same as ptt.

Motorola Timeport 270c not seeing its Bluetooth module

Hello!

I purchased a Timeport 270c via eBay. It was claimed that the phone is a Verizon phone, and when I called Verizon before the purchase and gave them the ESN, they said they would have no problem activating it.

I got the phone, it activated just fine and works well (LOVE the speakerphone!). The only problem I have is that when I slide the Bluetooth module (eBay from a different seller) onto it, the "Bluetooth Link" menu item does not show up under the Settings > Connection menu as it should according to the Bluetooth module manual.

The phone does not have any Verizon logo on it. It only has a Motorola logo at the bottom of the face plate. I do not know if it should have a Verizon logo, I am just assuming it would, nor do I know...

The REAL Message of the Consumer Reports Wireless Survey...

Its funny how so many people are so worried about who was ranked best in the Consumer Reports survey, when the real message of the survey was apparently not "Verizon is great" but rather, "All wireless carries suck, Verizon just happens to suck a little less".

http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/business/155547_cell07 ... »

http://www.jsonline.com/bym/news/jan05/290088.asp »

To wit, the wireless industries' customer satisfaction scores were comparable to such wretched things as cable companies and HMOs.

Thought provoking stuff. Apparently, ALL the carriers still have a LOT of work to do. That's really the message that should be taken from the CR survey.

Statement from Bluetooth SIG about the Verizon V710

Here is a clip from one of the many articles published today after the Wall Street Journal article:

"The Bluetooth SIG is very disappointed in this (Verizon's) implementation decision and believes many consumers who purchased this (the V710) phone for the Bluetooth capabilities are frustrated and confused as a result," said Michael Foley, the group's executive director. "Users have realistic expectations that Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones will work with their other Bluetooth-enabled devices including cars, headsets, PCs, printers, PDAs etc. While we on the technical side understand that certain profiles must be implemented to enable various usage scenarios, we shouldn't expect consumers, for example, to realize their phone does not have...

HaHa!!

T-Mobile is going to blow Verizon & Cingular out of the water in 2005!! Everyone should migrate to T-Mobile. Cingular sucks & Verizon is too expensive! What the hell is wrong w/ Verizon & Cingular don't they want to "bring in" customers, not drive them out? 😛

How stupid are some of you people?

Ever hear of keeping your mouth shut about the new rate plans? Don't bitch when VZW eventually gets an ass kicking because you gave away the plan to the competition. Rate plans that are, unfortunately, stooping to the level of the competition. And is it a little smelly that a week before Christmas, VZW rolled out the extra 100 minutes with share plans? A reaction strategy, and not the VZW that I used to know. I guess the competition is stepping up and reinventing VZW before VZW had a chance.

Sued!!

Hey, all you freaks at Verizon! If you haven't realized by now, Verizon is getting sued! HaHa! You people spend to much time thinking Verizon is the best carrier, but it's not!
This is Verizon agenda:
- Lie
- Be thieves
- "Sucky" customer service
- Cheap & retarted phones
- Make thier customers life a living "hell"
- Need I say more?

This is T-Mobile's agenda:
- Great customer service
- Good & useful phones
- Great coverage where they have it
- Actually planning on expanding thier coverage
- Afordable rate planes
- Help their customers in every way possible
- Actually go by thier moto "Get More"

Verizon or Cingular??? Which 1 is best?

I have been a customer with Verizon for the last 2.5 years and I was thinking of moving to cingular. Couple of my friends have been complaining that Cingular screws up in billing and they customers are overbilled. I was wondering if this is true??? I have been very happy with verizon but Verizon phones suck!!!

I will be moving out of Syracuse, NY and dont know where I will be moving exactly ..could be to California and dont know which carrier best works there.

My preferences in choosing Cingular or Verizon will be based on the following:

1st priority: Coverage and service
2nd priority: decent phones (not a camera but something with speakerphone)
3rd priority: customer service (I have heard that Cingular reps are rude and dont help...

Verizon Phones

😢
Ok, I have Verizon, and the service is spectacular, BUT the phoes are horrible and no compareson to other carriers phones (ie sony errison/nokia). Does any one have a clue to when their phones are going to step it up and start incorpertating some cool trendy models. What I hate about Verizon phoes: 1) they are all big 2) they are all chucky and dont fit comfotable in pockets 3) my friend has a new sony erricson and the game graphics are comparable to xbox or play station, verizon cant compare,
4) all phoes look alike
- I just dont get it, why wont they pick of Nokia or some better looking phones. ITs to the point that I hate there phones so much, i may swith carriers to get a cooler phone.

Can someone please tell me that veriz...

Verizon bailed on Bluetooth V710?

Are there any new full Bluetooth phones coming out by VZW or did they toss in the towel on all of the owners of Bluetooth cars with that need, like they did on the V710?

All of the forums at HoFo and V710.org are shutting down at the end of the month.

Lacking support from Motorola, Verizon and now the pressure on the user groups from them, and probably lawyers, looks like massive bailout for those with new cars with need for cell phone integration?

question????

Ok, Even though I Work for T-Mobile and have T-Mobile service, I previously did have VZW and was quite happy. Sure I hit some bumps but they were handeled very professionally, and timely. WHAT is up with everyone wanting to sue or yesll our "fraud, fraud"? Is it illegal all the sudden for a successful company to continue making money, and doing it the same way they have been for a long time? What gives?

Anybody heard about the software upgrade for V710 yet?

Several months ago, it was said on this forum that people were told by Motorola that Verizon would be coming out with a software upgrade to enable more Bluetooth features on the V710. Anybody from Verizon have any info on this yet?
