Ring in the New Year with "Service Busy"! Yay!

Anyone else have problems with Verizon's service New Year's Eve? From midnight till about 2am I couldn't make a call if my life depended on it. My first 6 calls or so were met with "call dropped", and my last 20 or so calls were greeted with "Service Busy". I was a bit surprised (but by no means astonished...everyone in America was on their cell phone at the time), especially when I was able to borrow a friend's Cingular phone (Samsung s307) and make all my calls with no problems.

Minute Packs

I was in a VZW store and found something called "minute packs" or something to that effect. The plan was $40 for 400 min. with no long term committment and unlim. night and weekends, this plan looks alot like ATTWS Go Phone plans. They also have $60 for 750 min. with unlim. night and weekends. Has anyone else seen this plan and could someone give me more info on this? I live in the Houston/Galveston area if that helps. Any help is appriciated!

LG VX6100 Software Crash

got my new LG Vx6100 two weeks ago and since then had to replace it twice.
I found on ebay the USB cable and the driver (http://stores.ebay.com/E-Coolcom) and used BIT-PIM to sync my contacts and ringtones.

I also tried to use Digital PIMP to sync my calendar (had it working great on the my previous VX 6000)

During the transfer the phone shut down and would not come up again, I went and replaced it and trying it again it crashed during the contact transfer to the phone.

Any idea why and how to avoid it?
Is it the cable (It also recharges)?
Is it Bit Pim ?
Is it Digital PIMP ?

Itzik.

Early Termination Fees

I am considering leaving Verizon and have only 5 months of my 2 year contract left. If I leave early is the termination fee prorated or would I have to pay it in full.

I could not find my contract and could not find this information on the VZW web site.

Goodbye Verizon

I would have stayed if Verizon had a phone selection as good as Sprint's. Same technology, so why does Sprint get the good phones?

One of these days the complacent exec's who can change things will get off their laurels. Verizon is a fantastic provider, but needs to keep up with the times. I would have paid for my phone if Verizon had a phone I liked. My preference is Nokia's. CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW.

For the experts our there...answer this?

I have the 6600 on verizon network...I have tried to work with Verizon for 4 days on this and here is the mystery issue.

I am on the pay as you go EDO, because I am traveling and will probably never use the service and under this plan they charge per minute...problem is with #777 string there is no disconnect option, so I set up my own connections like my Audiovox Thera with #19788 for express network and #762 for quick2net and then there is a disconnect...every 24 hours I get a text message saying "Your device settings were changed succesfully" then my connections get wiped on the pocket pc...if you try and readd those connections they say they are there but not visable in the connections screen, so you cannot chose a connection.

Bot...

(Weird...) Has anyone ever had this happen to them?

Every once in a while at around 4:30am my phone's voice-mail indicator rings. When I check the message, I hear myself leaving a voice-mail to another person's phone that I left about two weeks earlier! (The other person is also a VZW subscriber.) 😕

By the way, my phone is the Samsung A310. However, I don't believe the phone is the problem. I leave voice-mail to a lot of people but this weird thing only happened when I left a voice-mail for a VZW customer.

Has anyone ever had this happen to them?

Does anyone have any explanation for this?

Thanks

Samsung or Audiovox on VZW??

Just switched over to VZW from t-mobile due to my company. Went out right away and purchased a Samsung a650, what a disapointment compared to my moto v300 on t-mobile.

Bought thru Costco and the only other VZW phones they carry in my price range is the Samsung a670 or the Audiovox 8910.

My current a650 is going to get returned, about 18 hours stand-by and about 20 mins of talk and the battery needs recharging...ridiculous, had a similar problem with VZW several years ago....chewing up the phones battery.

Does a tri-mode phone (a650) chew up more battery than a fully digital phone a670 or 8910?

Whats the better choice here Audiovox or Samsung?

Help True or False.......Help1

I went to the the Verizon store today here in Gainesvill, Fl.32614.
I asked a sales person that my contract expires on 1/05. I asked them if I were to buy the Lg VX-8000 after my contract expired they told me I would have to pay the non-contract amount(the highest cost) or renew my conract and get for slightly less.
So they are telling me though my contract were to expire and I were to go month to month I would still have to pay the full cost. Were they being truthful to me?
If that were the case I stick with my present Lg VX-6000 or jump to Cingular. It seems I would do better with a greater selection of phones, I like the idea of a sim card, and I'm not sure but I think GSM signal gets into buildings with metal roofs than CDM...

Verizon Pay?

I currently work for a wireless company and was interested in exploring other opportunities. What does a top sales person at Verizon make a year? I work in the Chicago/Milwaukee area if that helps. Thanks for your responses.
