Indoor reception

Hi all --

I just bought a prepaid Kyocera kx414. I went with VZW b/c of the coverage area, but now I wonder if I shouldn't go with another carrier. The indoor reception in many buildings is pretty poor. One or zero bars is common. Is anybody else noticing this? Should I stick with VZW?

Thanks in advance

Anyone looking at different carriers....

The world standard cellphone service is GSM. Most GSM phones will work in any "non-poor" counrty. There are only two large carriers that offer GSM service in the US. They are T-Mobile and Cingular. Verizon and Sprint use a CDMA or ditigal network, and Nextel uses a TDMA network with built-in iDEN technology.

There are 4 primary "bands" used in the world, and we use 2 of them in the US. We use PCS band (1900MHz) and cellular band (800MHz). PCS band allows for excellent sound clarity/quality and Cellular band allows for wall penetration and long range calling (overall better reception). Of the 2 GSM carriers, T-Mobile uses PCS frequency only, and Cingular uses both PCS and Cellular frequencies.

Of the CDMA carriers, Verizon uses both P...

Please help ASAP

I work for USCC but am helping an east coast friend choose a Verizon phone. Her only requirement is that it is tri-mode. She currently has a T730 that is beginning to crack and needs to purchase a new phone. I know the phones but would like a Verizon rep's opinion on the best phones. she would like to pick one up tonight, please let me know your opinions ASAP! Thanks in advance!

Playtime with the 6600/HTC Harrier

I had a chance to play with the 6600 for an hour the other day (one of the perks of having a Verizon kiosk in one's store). I was surprised by how well built it feels. It's got a nice, heavy, sturdy feel to it...and the slider mechanism is butter smooth (no wobbles, wiggles or anything of that nature). The screen is absolutely beautiful...colors are bright and clear. And, hey, EVDO works wonderfully, as well (a perk of living in the Miami, Ft. Lauderdale area). I will say that I had a repeater built into the inside roof of my location...I'm sure that helped my satisfaction level. Data moved very quickly on screen...traveling from web page to web page was extremely quick. Overall I'd say my expectations were exceeded. Has anyone else got any ...

Verizon and thier lies...

I know this title will catch the eye of many and hence through my experience through the past few days u will know why i chose it...

I knew from reading peoples threads and replies on this website and many others the people know what is going on with companies, their policy's, and phones. That is why i don't understand why companies such as verizon lie to their customers...I called Verizon the other day and asked them about thier bluetooth phone the V710 and asked information about it such as what can it do, functions, capabilities and so on...They told me everything that it had to offer and must have read word for word what was on the web site...Then i asked them why is it that Verizon has stripped the Bluetooth capabilities of this ph...

Wakeup Verizon and update your rate plans!!

Ok I am a very loyal Verizon subscriber but alas I will admit I was in Cingular today scoping it out and let me tell you, I don't care how many new customers verizon has been adding quartly this will change if they don't.
Roll over, $9 to add a line instead of $20, more minutes for the money, better phone selection etc. The call clarity was incredilbe and i even tried making calls from different areas w/in the mall with a friends cingular phone and it was amazing, got coverage my verizon couldn't in areas of the building and was clear as day. On top of that you get 1500 txt messages, unlimited web adn an insane number of media messages for $19 bucks! Wakeup Verizon if Cingular can do it...So can YOU!
*Just a note 7pm n/w would be nice als...

looking for plaintiffs potential vzn fraud suit

I believe vzn may be engaged in fraudulent and unfair business practices which is actionable in California (Section 17200). When I signed up for my most recent plan (15 year plus customer) I was assured that I could add (or subtract) more minutes without penalties if my usage changed. However, I recently attempted to increase my minutes from (1200 to 2000). The customer service rep, who was very rude, that helped me did not tell me that this would result in me agreeing to extend my contract one year. Just before the transaction went through I happened to ask about my contract term, when I was told of the extension. I cannot change my minutes without a new contract. This is not what I was sold when I agreed to the plan. I am looking for a...

Gotta be a motorola I think

ok like i have posted before i am getting vzn very soon. from all the posts i have read and from the feedback i seen on my posts it seems of course motorola might be the way to go. im now stuck between the 265 and the 710. any comments. i really want the 710 but so far am having troubles justifying it to the misses. kinda sucks not even married and still gotta justify it. anyone who has tried the two let me know. heard anything interesting let me know. sound quality is my big issue, as well as signal strength. i dont want dropped calls. i know if i go with a motorola phone though i can at least get the bluetooth adapter. thats another one of my things is the headset.

Get It Now pricing question -- subscription?

When I look up some of the Get It Now stuff and you check the pricing for the application it gives you two options: subscription and unlimited.

What does subscription mean? Is it a monthly charge?

In responce to posts about different carriers and rate plans!!!

a little in site for anyone thinking of other carriers or if your wondering about who if which to switch to. i have checked out most of the competition as a salesman, and this is what i found:

t-mobile - well honestly unless you are in a big city or at least good sized city, the service isnt that great. ya honestly they give you a lot of minutes for your money but what good are they if you drop calls.

sprint pcs - pretty nice service around cities and interstates, there phones are awesome, pretty descently priced plans and phones. only something like 5% fo their customers actually roam. of course now the system is set up to tell you if your address is outside of their coverage area.

nextel - excellent walkie talky, best in the busin...
