Only Trimode Phones ?
a new contract last year,for 2 years.I have
the America's choice plan.Wife's contract is
over.So I called to see if I could put us on
a family share plan.Same America Choice plan.
I asked about the lg vx7000 for her.I was told
I would have to get a Tri-mode phone,because
we were getting the America's Choice plan.
Now my brother has 3 lg vx6000 on his family
share plan.Also America's Choice plan.So were
they wrong when they sold him his package,
or is she wrong telling me I have to go Tri-

A deal in which Sprint will pay Nextel shareholders a price equivalent to 1.3 shares of Sprint stock, which while made up almost entirely of that stock, will also include a small dollop of cash.
Sprint and Nextel will also announce their plans, after their merger closes, to spin off Sprint's local exchange business, which currently comprises roughly 7.7 million access lines.
And tomorrow morning, officials at Verizon Wireless and its parent Verizon Commun...

600 Minutes, Unl N/W/IN the 'New Standard'?
I was sort of interested in switching to a VZW promo plan (LDC 600 min, unl n/w/in for $39.99) from my current plan (LDC 1K min, no unl anything, free LD, $39.99). So I asked a store rep how much longer the promo 600 plan would be around.
He says , "Forever. Its the new standard." I'm like, "Huh. Really?".
Now, I've had bad experiences with VZW reps in VZW stores before, but fortunately, the reps on this forum seem to be quite honest and open. Do you think said rep is correct? 'cause if he his, that means that the price/minutes wars might be starting to kick into higher gear, which is great for me the consumer (but tough on carrier profits).
And *if* the $39 pricepoint is getti...

Verizon to Merge with Alltel?
Do Not Register for DO NOT CALL LIST
Here's an article from the Washington Post:
"Verizon Wireless and the smaller U.S. Cellular have decided not to participate. Their customers won't be able to list their numbers through the new service, even if they want to.
"There's more reason today than ever for the wireless industry to protect customers' privacy," V...

Sprint and Nextel Considering a Merger?...
http://www.rcrnews.com/news.cms?newsId=20722 »
At first I was like "iDEN and CDMA? How does THAT work?", but apparently Nextel could be adding some CDMA to its network:
"Analysts noted that if Nextel decides to install a CDMA-based network using the 1.9 GHz spectrum it's likely to acquire from the Federal Communications Commission as part of a re-banding effort designed to reduce interference in the 800 MHz spectrum band, Nextel could set itself up for a possible deal with either Sprint or Verizon Wireless."
Merging with Sprint seems like its something that could be done without setting off any regulatory alarms, but with Verizon? Wouldn't that combined company be so large that the regulators would be agains...
