Beware of this phone

First let me state that I believe that most
of the positive reviews for this phone are
from Samsung employees.
I added a phone line to my account. On Thursday I received two a670's. In less than
2 hours I called Verizon to inquire about
returns the phones.
Phones were exchanged that evening....
Pro: did not have phone long enough to find
any.. except for the size.

Cons: Reception in New York City is poor..
Not user friendly...
Battery became warm.
Volume is poor....

Sorry Samsung... But this phone is not for
adults... It appears to be build for
teenagers needs.

Are these 'Cellphone Myths' or Not?

Had an interesting talk with a T-Mobile/Verizon dealer the other day. Among the things he told me...

1) Car chargers (ANY car charger) DAMAGE cellphone batteries. This is apparently due to the rapidness of the car charge. He maintained that car chargers should only be used for emergencies.

2) Reception-wise, it doesnt' MATTER what phone you have- they're very much all the same. Expensive phones have no better reception than cheap ones, and he himself used a very cheap phone.

Any confirming/contrasting opinions or facts on this? It'd be nice to know if they're 'cellphone myths' or not.

Why is VZW not #1?

To the people who hate VZW or just plainly love the company they work for or love the wireless service provided to them (which is relative to where one works and plays).

Why does VZW keep adding a considerable amount of new customers to their current base and have the lowest churn rate out of all the customers?

I read all this quantitative data about how VZW's CDMA network stinks and all great quantitative data on how Cingular's GSM is awesome, yet the net adds and churn #s don't add up to the unbiased quantitative data provided.

One can easily point out that there is direct correlation between network superiority, net adds, and churn rate GIVEN the average consumer isn't stupid.

Given the prior statement, why is VZW not #1 as st...

Suggested Phone ..?

I'm looking for a solid phone with most or all of the following options - any suggestions are appreciated. I currently have the VX6000 and think its great just wanna upgrade.

-The most important thing would be a message waiting indicator. The VX6000 has the front screen but only for 3min max. I would love a phone with a lamp indicator/reminder.

-A camera isnt really all that important

-Good address book options, multiple numbers per entry, sort alphabetically

-Good 2nd display outside .. customizable?

-Sturdy, small, lightweight.

Thats about it .. any help is appreciated...

I agree with all who feel deceived by Verizon about Bluetooth

For most people (especially those who had a chance to experience higher level of cell phone functionality that can be seen in Europe, where you can pay for a parking meter or get a soda from a vending machine using your bluetooth enabled phone) this phone is very crippled. If the phone is "bluetooth enabled" you should be able to expect some basic functionality. For example, my local CVS allows you to print prints from your camera and accepts a CD, all flash cards varieties as well as a bluetooth connection as an option to upload the images. It does not work with V710 as the file transfer is not possible. Also a very basic expectation is that you will be able to sync with Outloook via BT. And too be honest most of users expected that they wi...

NEW PRL

According to howardforums.com, there are new PRL's that include Bluegrass Cellular digital, analog and pcs.

I have learned that by dialing *22891 + send is the easiest way to update your prl.

For sale: Kyocera SE47 Slider for Verizon

Changing service providers, so just posted my Slider on eBay. The phone is in excellent condition and the package includes a lot of extras (extra battery, travel charger, car charger and holster).

Switching to a Promotional Plan?...

To VZW reps:

Currently I'm on a Promotional VZW plan (LDC 1000 Anytime Minutes, no unlimited anything, Free LD for $39.99). Its pretty nice, but I'm getting more calls than I anticipated, especially on nights/wkends, and while I'm not going over on minutes, I'm coming a lot closer than I thought I would. ☹️

I'm considering possibly switching to ANOTHER Promotional plan, the LDC 600 Anytime w/Unlimited nights/weekends/IN calling (I do have a close friend on VZW)

My questions:

1) Will VZW let me switch to a promo plan, or is that a no-no somehow? I've already switched plans once to a promo plan (going from the 'LDC 1000 Anytime/no unlimited anything/NO free LD' TO the 'LDC 1000 Anytime/no unlimited anything/FREE LD').

2) My pre...

Help Selecting a Phone

My New Every 2 is up and I'd like to get a new phone. I'm having problems figuring out which one I want and I was wondering if people could give me some recommendations.

I usually stick with Motorola, but it looks like the camera phones offered by Motorola at Verizon really suck right now. I don't need/want BlueTooth, so that rules on the V710 (plus cost is too high). I actually have the Slider now, but it's slow and I can't stand the stock ring tones (which again, I liked Motorola's stock ring tones when I had the T720).

So what phones are solid, have a good UI and good reception with a camera? Should I wait?

Thanks for your help.

Nokia 6015i - America's choice VZW

I'm about to go with VZW with a Nokia 6015i and 400 minute America's Choice Plan:

I Need to connect phone with laptop for email and I'm a Full time RV'r
who travels the country extensively

I still have the AT&T/Cingular One rate and will continue minimum
minutes plan as a hedge to test Verizon's service for awhile. (email
with my Nokia 5160 is now broken - modem problem)

Plan to buy Nokia 6015i phone ($59 for 1 year contract) and 400 minute
America Choice plan, at a Verizon Company Store. I'm aware that there
are *3rd party deals* that will provide the phone *free* and even throw
in some other goodies but because we travel so much, dealing with
returns/warranties/service would be a monumental issue, if we do have
pro...

VX-7000 vs MMA-700

Could you give your opinions of the best performing phone between these two models. I know one is Verizon and one is Sprint service. I am interested in reception, battery life, sound clarity and ringer volume with camera performance secondary. Just noticed the MMA-700 is no longer listed on the Sprint phone list? Thanks for your opinions in advance.

NE2 & radio shack

This is to confirm that radio shack does not participate in the program.

Thank you for taking the time to write. RadioShack does not participate in that plan. To take advantage of the "New Every Two" promotion, please visit your local Verizon store.

Thank you,

Small Light Tri-mode?

I am one of the guys who was holding their breath for the Moto V810 on Verizon. It seemed perfect. Do any of you moles out there have any intell on new SMALL tri-mode coming from/for Verizon? I want a 3 ounce phone with decent data compatibility. Camera is optional. I am about to break down and get the V265, but frankly it feels like a brick and has a tiny screen and everyone says the camera is not worth the weight. My Startac hasn't died yet so I can hold out if there is any hope.
