Reception problem

I live in Houston, TX and was in the Baltimore/Wash. D.C. area on Wednesday. My Verizon phone (Samsung SCH 670) usually performs well and don't have a problem with reception or signal strength. But for some reason, I had a hard time getting a clear signal and being able to make calls around the area. I had a hard time making calls at BWI airport also.

I don't know if Verizon does not have good coverage around the Baltimore/Wash. D.c. area? I think Verizon's coverage is pretty extensive, but can't explain what happened on Wed.

Best time to re-up with VZW?

I'm due for my NE2 & want to wait a couple of weeks to see which new equipement comes out. Someone told me to only change your contract on your billing date. Is this true? I'm planning on increasing my minutes. Is it smarter to wait until your billing date or can this be done mid-cycle without a penalty.
Thanks.

Motorola Newbie -- Address Book Question

I just purchased this phone several days ago, and so far I absolutely love it. But I do have a question regarding the Address Book.

I've set up my Address Book to "View by: List," "Sort by: Name," and "View: Primary Contacts." I understand that if I need to access a number other than the primary one for any of my contacts, all I have to do is to use the right navigation key to scroll over to the number I need to call. However, I've noticed that if I do select a number other than the primary number for someone and make a call, when I return to the Phonebook, that last number that I called for that same contact is now in the default/primary view. I would have expected the phonebook to revert to displaying the number I had originally set...

Verizon moving into Cingular areas to compete?

In my area, there are only two cell carriers, Alltel and the new Cingular. Verizon is not licensed to sell in my area...yet anyway. Is it possible for Verizon to begin offering their services in areas where Cingular just moved in, for competition sake?

Or will other smaller carriers like Alltel and US Cellular merge in with Verizon to expand the overall CDMA "digitial" service, to replace the smaller carrier's analog network?

but dummy phones are not out yet.

I couple of posts mentioned that the phone should come out in a couple weeks(user manual on Verizon site). However, to my knowledge dummy phones are not at the stores right now. Since dummy phones always come a couple weeks before the phone, this means that the phone should not be our for AT LEAST several weeks. Is this true?

No New VZW Plans for the Holidays?

Just asking. My friend is FINALLY going to be bailing this week on Cingular (nee AT&TW) to go to Verizon.

The only promo plan that seems active right now is the '1000 Anytime Minutes w/Free Long Distance for $39.99' deal, which is nice (and what I have), but won't work for her as she needs more like 1400 anytime minutes at least plus unlimited nights & weekends... she's a heavy user.

Is the $79.99 Local plan her best bet, or is there something in the plan pipeline that'll be out soon?

Survey - How Many Have You Switched to Verizon Today?

Since there are a lot of Verizon reps posting here (I'm not in the industry), It would be interesting to know how many new customers you have per day. That is, how many are you seeing each day that are switching from other carriers? What are the numbers, by carrier names?

VZW drops LNP fee 100%

Verizon gets rid of the LNP fee completely. Thus giving up $15 million per month. Will any other carrier be looking out for their customers best interest like VZW? Just wondering.

New Verizon Phones (next two weeks)

I'm on day 4 of my 15 day window for returning my V265 for a VX7000. Is there any chance at all that Verizon will release a new phone in the next two weeks that compares to the VX7000?

I understand that the VX8000 is quite a ways off.

thanks

Very confused...renewing contract? NE2?

First let me say that I have been very happy with VZW except for the major customer service inconsistencies. And that's why I'm here. Maybe someone has been in a similar situation and can give me the "real" scoop, if such a thing exists!

Last week I went to VZW store to pay my bill. The rep says to come back on 11/17 because I qualify for a new phone then, through the NE2 program. Great!

On 11/16 I call CS regarding a billing issue, then I have the rep check if the phone I want is in stock in case my local stores don't have it. She verifies my eligibility, and verifies that the phone IS in stock, and since it is $69.99 I will get it for free. She says to call back if I don't find it locally and they'll ship it right out to me. Cool.

Thinking of switching from Verizon to Cingular.

My one year contract with Verizon expires in two months. Verizon knowing this, would they try or tempt to stay with with a special deal? Or do they realy care?
I myself would ever sign a two year conract, they are way to long! At least with one year contracts you can go with another company without having to pay ETF.

finally, a vzw customer

finally jumped the att wireless ship tonite, ended up with the lg 6100, i like it so far. did get the leather bikini cover, but not sure if i like that yet or not, it may go back and i may get the holster style instead.

only thing that bugs me that when in driving mode, when you open the flip, it keeps saying 'say a command' over and over, unless i close the flip (or make it respond to button only)... wish i could just leave it be, and talk at it when i am ready to

Best Verizon Phone

I own the CDM 9900 and think its a great phone. I just wanted everyone's opinion as to what the best Verizon phone is, and why. The reason why im asking is because I think the 9900 could be the best all around phone (great RF, great camera, etc.) and I think its such a shame that is on closeout. Just wanted everyone's opinion........VZW employees, what do your customers think? Thanks for your opinions.....

Nokia 6235 and 6235i

Does anyone have any information about the Nokia 6235/6235i and if that CDMA mid range phone is going to be released for Verizon? On the "News Headline" of phonescoop, it says Nokia just introduced that phone at a conference and it's going to be for CDMA, but did not mention if it's for Verizon.

VERIZON HAS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!

The absolute WORST.

I tried to change my V710 for the third time last week in Burbank, CA.

They wouldn't do it because I didn't have the original receipt from Radio Shack.

The phone has already been swapped out by Verizon, without a receipt about a month ago.

I was on the phone for an hour with customer service who offered to overnight mail me one, yet not knowing it it was a fixed unit or not and without a receipt. However, the customer service in Burbank, CA would not do it!

The camera does not work, the phone freezes up, the caller ID does not always display and I'm fed up with it.

This phone is way overrated as is Verizon. What I'm thinking of doing is exchanging the V710 for a brand new on, selling it and using the mon...

New Phones- Features? + Voice Gear?

Do any of VZW's current phones support the following:
- can hear ringer though headset?
- generic headset with on/off button can
answer/terminate call?

I know that the VX4400 doesn't do either - I'm wondering if some of the newer models do.

Also, it's been about a year since I stopped using Voice Gear, and, I'm thinking about signing up for it again. I seem to recall a bug (or feature?) whereby calls to other VZW phones made thru Voice Gear are billed out of minutes and not considered In network calls. Was this / is this the case?
