Help with accessories for the CDM9900

😕 I bought a CDM9900 and had to wait for delivery. I ordered the phone, car charger and flip-case (not the stupid pouch or holster). I was told that they didn't have any cases in stock but would be getting them.

That was two weeks ago, no cases and no idea. Nobody at the VW store has a clue. I went on the VW site the day I bought the phone and saw the case with the Out of stock banner on it. I went back a few days later and the case isn't even on there.

Was the case discontinued? I tried ordering from another place and they were out of stock too. Did "they" stop making the case period? Will the Sprint Toshiba V----- (9950) case work for this phone.

Does sending text messages thru vtext.com cost you a text message as though you were sending it directly from your cell?

Release dates?

Since people are saying that the Koi will be release 22nd-24th on the west coast do you think that Samsung will have the SCH-N330 out by that same time?

Wireless Video Phones

Back in the 1980's video phones were first invented by Bell Labs, but never hit the commercial market for numerous reasons, including high terminal costs and low bandwidth of existing networks.

Question: Would you be interested in seeing wireless video phones (Not Video on Demand, but actual point-to-point video and audio calls) released to the cellular industry, and, if so, what would you be willing to pay per device? Service Fees?

Should my Dad expect service in his area?

Hello!

I emailed customer service and asked if there is a tower within the normal range of expected service from my Dad's house. They came back twice with the same canned answer that "Verizon Wireless has many wireless towers throughout the service area...." and "For this reason, as well as for security purposes, it is not possible to release the requested proprietary information regarding the exact location of our towers."

I never asked for the exact location. I just asked if he should have any reasonable expectation of getting good service, based on his location in relation to Verizon towers.

He has been to the local Verizon store at 2428 Las Positas Road in Livermore (350 yards south of the I580 freeway) to have his Motorola V60s...

X8000

I MUST get rid of my T-730 (before my NE2)so I know I must pay full retail whatever I do) and am teetering between the VX7000 and the Samsung 670.
Now a friend said the 8000 might be out for the holidays?
Any advice, comments or what to stay away from?
I know a dixie cup and no string (hey, its wireless) would be better than the Moto 730 so I'm looking forward to making the purchase.
I would have done it last week but my friend told me to wait for the holiday deals.
Help is appreciated.

Verizon vs. Cingular

What do you think Verizon will do since Cingular and Verizon have merged, beating the amount of voice and data customers that Verizon used to have? REply you results, please.

They don't list many specs, but it looks like a pretty durable phone from the picture. Maybe it will be offered from VZW next year after the V710 has been out a while.

9500 Accessories

Can anyone recommend a place to get an extended battery, car charger, and holster for this phone?

I called VZW and they said they no longer carry anything for it.

I would prefer OEM.

Mot V265 versus Audiovox 9900?

I qualify for NE2 and am debating between the v265 and Audiovox 8910/9900. The attractions for me to the v265 are the price (now that it is has been revealed), the GPS capability (direction finding, beyond E911), and the camera. I've read at least one post saying the camera doesn't work so well. How about the GPS location feature? How does that actually work? Does it require a data subscription? Is it fast? I'm a big Mot fan and would like to stay with it. I also have the 270c and 2868 accessories, so presuming the v265 maintains at least the 270c line (charging connectors) I'll be ok.

If neither the GPS nor camera are that great, I'll likely go with the Audiovox and test it, as I've heard its camera is decent.

I have read a bit about ...

Sprint mis-information!!!!

i was just reading a few posts on the Sprint board......WOW do they have some info wrong or what. Apparently Sprint is the "largest and most reliable" cellular company in America. Didn't know that.

Also there phones are way better, eventhough most of them are just diff designs of phones VZW offers.

Also people are claiming they are the best in the NT/Tri-state area....looking at Consumer Reports....
VZW-71
NexHell-62
T-UNmobile-59
Sprint(away)-58
AT..Cing..whatever-58

Apparently there customers dont agree with the fan boys of Sprint.
