Verizon Wireless Rules!!!

😁 So it's slow at the call center tonight, no escalations, customers that actually understand what we're telling them, and we're resolving concerns on the first call!! For all of you that talk so much crap about the Customer Service with Verizon Wireless I invite you to call in and have an engaging conversation with anyone of our highly trained CSR, and then come back here bragging about your combination company, haven't you ever heard the saying that two wrongs don't make a right???? Well if you haven't now you have, and soon enough Cingular will realize the mistake that they made, and I'll be here watching their customers march over to Verizon Wireless,so that we can provide them with a wireless solution for their mobile phone needs. (--...

It seems to me.....

That alot of people are saying " Why doesn't Verizon do this or why doesn't Verizon do that?.....Company X does and that is why I am with them." Well, if your company is THAT good and you are that happy with them.....why do you even care what Verizon does or doesn't do? You obviously want a BMW for the price of a Yugo. The wireless industry is always changing and more than likely, Verizon will offer some of these perks for their customers when it gets to the point that they have to because everyone else is offering much more. Until then, you can only utilize what is available.

If it were up to me, there would be one charge for unlimted use, nationwide and no roaming nationwide for all companies. Then you would truly see who wins with q...

VX6000 run over by car!

My daughter dropped her phone and a car ran it over!! 😳 Talk about a rugged phone -- it seems to be working ok, but the camera lens is broken. Do you think that she can get a refurb 6000 thru Verizon at a discount or perhaps they can have it repaired at a reasonable price?

when will we realize...

that CainMarko is nothing more than a fan-boy with unsubstantiated claims that he can't back up. He calls VZW's claims bogus but the Supreme Court has upheld our right to claim to be the best, and to advertise it. Cain is an over-zealous kid with too much time on his/her hands. He does not provide any credible information and contantly gets pigeon-holed with his seemingly thoughtless comments and lies. When confronted about his discrepencies in his posts between his reality, and actual reality.

Verizon Wireless Withdraws Opposition of 800Mhz Plan

Verizon Wireless withdrew its opposition to a Federal Communications Commission plan, which would give Nextel Communications valuable wireless airwaves in exchange for reducing interference between its network and communications for public safety officials.
In exchange, Nextel Communications has agreed to forego ownership rights to the "push-to-talk" phrase used for walkie talkie features, which Verizon Wireless and other wireless carriers have added to their services.

Missing the POINT On Verizon VS New Cingular...

Sigh. The current VZW vs Cingular debates on this forum go something like this...

Cingularhead: HA HA HA! WE'RE #1 !!!

Verizonhead: SO WHAT? You're so DESPERATE, you had to BUY #1 !!!

But neither of these arguments REALLY MATTER. 🙄

Cingular being #1 in customer count matters little if they can't STAY #1... at best it would be a short-term marketing talking point. And no consumer really gives a DAMN who merged with who to get what... duh.

What DOES matter is the COMPETITION that these two companies are about to enter into, namely:

1) Who's going to market better and attract new customers faster?

2) Who's going to do a better job of holding onto old customers?

3) Who's going to have the better plans and ph...

"In" calling

Ok, I am no cellphone pro. I had verizon going back to before there was verizon, it had switched companies a few times.

Anyway, I took a break from cellphones as I was getting way too many stupid calls. I just signed back up with verizon and my plan has the unlimited in calling.

Does the in calling apply to anyone I call with verizon, or only if they are on the in thing?

How do I know?

My wife is on verizon, but it is through her employer and I dont know if they have "in".

Thanks for any clarification.

Which phone

I am trying to decide on which phone to get. My local place has the audiovox 9900, it looks nice and the reviews on this site are pretty good.

The other phone I am considering is the lg6100, not much info on it yet though.

I want a tri mode, dont really need the camera, but thought I might like that feature. First and foremost it needs to work well.

I have a lgvx4400 that I am upgrading from. I have been pretty happy with it overall.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Paul

Verizon Wireless and new phones

What kills me are these "new phone" topcis. It's not that VZW doesn't want these new phones... Carriers tend to make them for GSM.

Carriers making more phone designs for GSM has NOTHING TO DO WITH SUPERIOR NETWORKS!! (shush Cain I can hear you breathing) There are just more available retailers to sell GSM since it is a free standard in the USA and in other countries.

The biggest reason that VZW doesn't have phones like the v3 RAZR and such is simply this.. Manufacturers have to design a phone and make the firmware (software) and the hardware. Now hardware is really easy to retool. What kills them is that CDMA technology is Qualcomm based. For a handset manufacturer they have to pay Qualcomm a fee to be able to use their chipsets. This ...

TXT question

I live in Wichita Kansas and frequently travel around and out of my home state. I live within the National Enhanced Services Rate and Coverage Area, but I am basically isolated when it comes to travel with these features. (Wichita is the covered area right in the southern central part of the state).

My question is:

Why can I receive TXT when traveling to Kansas City (which shows no coverage from Wichita to KC) and not receive TXT when traveling to Oklahoma City, the next large city to the south. I understand that OKC does not have any coverage but on the other hand it is only 160 miles from Wichita and KC is approximately 190 and I get service the whole trip. Any technical information would be helpful. Thanks.

Mobile Web questions

Hello!

Here is Southern CA, zip 92683, the Mobile Web choice is gone from plan options, at least for America's Choice plans. What happened to Mobile Web on the VZW web site?

What's up? Could it mean the pending release of the VX-8000? (Sorry, I just threw that in there to feed the impatient).

Once the VX-8000 gets out, I want it so I can check email during the day or check traffic reports. Any idea if the "Mobile Web with MSN" option will allow checking mail on my Exchange Server? I can browse to my server with a "/oma" at the end of the URL and it gives a text-only version of mail...no frills.

Do you have to get Mobile Web to use the phone's web browser?

Why VZW? Why CDMA?

Well, I said I'd do this, but I have been extremely busy and haven't had the chance. i still don't, so this will be abbreviated.

Many people wonder what carrier to go with, and you'll see arguements over coverage and features from one carrier to the next. Most don't even realize what CDMA, TDMA, or GSM stand for, let alone the advantages of each. So while my expertise is in the CDMA World, I'll let other experts of TDMA and GSM offer a technical discussion to their advantages.

CDMA- Code Division Multiple Access! What does that mean. In Analog, there is one voice call (one user) per channel. So in each sector, you can only fit the number of users as there are different channels. In TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access, as used by AT&T, ...
