Verizon Corporate Discounts --600 employees?

I work in a company with 600 employees. We're working on a corporate discount with Verizon. Can someone tell me what level of discount we might anticipate on this? I noticed that a college had a 19% discount. Wondering what kind of commits are required to get the best discount. How low can we go????

Also, I am wondering what kind of phone deals can be offered.

LG8000 Launch

I went to a Verizon Wireless Technology Expo last week and talked with the LG representative that was carrying the LG 8000. After taking a peek at the cool phone, I have decided I am getting that when it comes out. He says the launch seems to be end of october early November.

Get it Now

I was a loyal Verizon customer for 4 yrs, still like the company and the coverage is very good.

I prefer CDMA - (no scientific explanation for this, it has not let me down so far) so my choices are Verizon and SPRINT.

But I'm not going to get a phone with a tacky
"Get it Now" button.

Who thought of this? some marketing geek who figured it would force the unsuspecting masses to pay for more unnecessary services?

Amazing that no other carrier jumped on that idea !

so when my contract was up, I bolted to Sprint.

IN-NETWORK (verizon to verizon) OVER VERIZON ENTIRE NETWORK IS HERE.

Uh oh...I saw phonepimp in the corner crying. HAHA! yes it is here, I just got the brochures today. Nice heads up by all. Got me wondering too about the threads until I got the brochures today in the midwest. If your not on Verizon you better join, this is an awesome thing to have on the Largest nationwide network with over 40 million customers.

I remember signing something......

when I started my job here at VZW stating that I should not disclose any info given to me by VZW that has not yet been fully disclosed to the public by VZW first.

Does any of the other reps remember this? I think some reps might as well be like some of our customers who'll turn their back on their carrier/employer any chance they get.

Motorola Spinner Phone

I am getting a Motorola Spinner phone from Japan. It is supposedly CDMA. When it gets here, does anyone know if I can just go to my Verizon store and they can just put it on my plan?

670 questions

Just purchased this phone. Excellent. Two questions though. When I am speaking, does this phone alert me when I receive a text message? All my other phones did, but this is not. Is there a setting I have to adjust??? Thanks.

Cnfused? GSM is better but..........

GSM is so much better than CDMA as put so eloquently by the pimp of phones and cainmarko. If GSM is so much better why are they going over to WCDMA? If GSM is so much better why are they trying to become like CDMA?

Anyone who has some excellent facts from sources like www.gsmworld.com or www.cdmaworld.com please inform me.

Data Plans (Treo)

OK, Can someone explain how the data plans work through Verizon. I was orginally looking at purchasing a Sidekick II (A friend has the original and does not have to pay extra for data) Verizon wants me to pay an extra $40 a month for data access through the Treo???

Is Verizon that much more expensive for internet access?

Any new PDA/Smart Phones coming?

Thanks to those who responded to my i700 GPS question.

Next question: the i700 seems to have alot of cool features I want but it is alot of money to drop on a phone/pda. It's been out for awhile now---I'm worried if I buy in the next couple weeks, another better phone will be released. Are there any other phones coming soon? Does Verizon have a policy to protect me so I can buy now and if something new comes out in X days, I get to upgrade? That's probably crazy, right?

i700 GPS???

The spec sheet on the Samsung site says the i700 has GPS capability. But the closest I see to an actual application seems to require extra hardware. What's the real story here? Doe sit have GPS or not? In other words, can I look at the phone and get my longitude/latitude, etc using some app?

Thanks!

V60 Replacement for Verizon

I love my V60 but feel its time to upgrade to a color display, camera and BREW (or equivalent OS). I just received an email from Motorola that showed the RAZR, MPx220, V265, V262 and others but don't know which ones are available for Verizon and when.

I love the clamshell and really don't want to go up much in size for from the V60. What should I be looking at in the next couple of months?

Thanks!

Some Help, Please.......

I have a question, I'm new to phomescoop but maybe you can help me decide anyway.
I am at this time a verizon customer, and my one year contract expires on 1/05.
I am disappointed that everytime I go to our verizon store they have the same phones all of the time. Are the GSM carriers that far advance in their phone selection, that for every phone verizon comes out with, GSM carriers have three new ones?
I keep hearing how verizon does serious testing on their phones before they are released to the public. So are you telling me that the other carriers(GSM) don't test their phones?
Though I like verizon's coverage most of the GSM carriers "footprint" is almost just as large.
The appeal of having a removeable sims card is an exce...

So..Many...Questions

Hey there!

I'm looking into having my dad add a line to his plan for me, but I have some ?'s.

The phone that comes cheapest with the plan (Cheap is very important to me!) is the LG 3200. I hear it's a good phone, but it's difficult to get ringtones, games, etc. Do you guys think that Verizon will make any ringtones or games for it in the future, by adding it to the Get it Now thingy?

Also, when were at the cell phone provider store, he mentioned that Verizon was about to launch a big new plan on the 27th of September ( I live in NW Iowa if that helps at all). Do you guys know anything about this?

Ah, and TXT messaging---now that's cool! My fav. part about it is being able to send messages to friends' email inboxes. Does doing ...

Get together

I propose a get together for anyone interested that lives in the Buffalo area that may read the VZW forums. I was thinking along the lines of meeting a bar have a beers, talk about VZW, etc. Anyone interested?
