Being transferred to a non-Verizon Market

Hey everyone,
My company is transferring me to a market that at this time is a non-Verizon Market. I will be exiled without selling VZW for about 4-5 months when the newly acquired market is activated.
Once I am transferred I will probably not post here until I can sell VZW again. (probably 1st quarter of next year) Until then I will see about livening up one of the sleeping forums.
Until then keep up the good work and remember: Friends do not let friends use GSM.

tri-mode vs. all digital

Is there a general consensus regarding weather to get a phone with tri-mode or all digital? The sales reps say there is no difference, at least in the area (NJ), but some how I think they are told to say that. The phones that have the tri-mode seem to be the older models, such as the Samsung 650, which I feel are lacking key features, like an outside display. The more advanced version, the 670, has more features an outside display and camera ( don’t need or want) lacks the Amp signal. Do I really need this signal?

Is it me or do vzw’s phones suck compared to the competition?

Hurricane Outages

I live in central Florida and we were hit pretty hard in my area by hurricane Francis. I just swapped out my StarTac for a VX 4500 on Saturday the day before the storm came through and I'm now having some trouble having no signal where I had signal before. I commute once or twice a month between two major cities in Florida and while my coverage is fine when I'm at one of my homes I just noticed today that I had several dead spots on the turnpike where I could have sworn I had signal before.

I'm trying to figure out if this is something with the phone or if it's due to towers being out because of the storm. (Lots of areas are still without power, I wasn't sure if cell towers had backups or anything.) I won't be commuting again before my ...

My Final Input after this I'm Done!

Fine, well you know what they say about opinions there like "%#@*%$~", everybody has one. Yall make yours, and everything is peaches & cream. I say mine & a hammer drops. Being a csr for any wireless company, or any company period has it's ups & downs. All people make mistakes, though some are more avoidable than others. I made one wrong statement about bogo's and I get dis-credited here. I made my apologies for that mis-information like 3 times. And like I also have said, the most important thing to me in my job is to help the cust. If I give bad information during a call, & then realize after the fact, I always call the cust. back, apologize and give them the correct info, "always". I like see just how many of you know it alls do that. Pay...

Walkie Talkie Phone for Verizon

Does anyone know if verizon has or is going to come out with a walkie talkie type phone that you can use even when it's closed? I'm thinking kind of like the silver nextel. Thanks!

Class Action Lawsuit Status?

Late last year there was a Class Action Lawsuit filed against Verizon, and I remember reading that they lost and will have to pay to current customers and former customers.

Does anyone know the status of this payout, or where I can find out about it?

What are they giving former customers? Think it was supposed to be LD calling cards.

Phantom Voicemail

I ported my number to Verizon from Sprint in early July. Ever since, I get a voicemail alert everytime i turn my phone on, or everytime i leave and come back to the service area. There is never a voicemail and the only way to get rid of the indicator is to manually delete it. Verizon cant seem to figure out what the problem is.I have talked to many people and have had my voicemail turned off for a few days but as soon as they put it back on it started again. We filed a trouble ticket with Tech support 2 weeks ago but the issue is still not resolved. Also, i dont think it is the phone becuase i have had 2 different phones and it happened with both of them. Any thoughts?

Repair Pricing Quote Kyocera Slider SE47 SCREEN

πŸ‘Ώ
Well, my brother ended up breaking his slider screen the other week and it is cracked and bleeding bad. I spoke with a VZW rep on the phone and they said something about $15 for a replacement screen. (If find the previous hard to believe), they also talked about getting a FRU unit under MFG WRTY? I know people in the repair business and they said it would be more like at least $100.

So the other day I bring it to a corporate Verizon store and they say that they do not fix screens at all. I mentioned the notes in the account about a FRU unit, and hey said no way. (Now I didn't expect to get a FRU unit truthfully, but I did expect to get information on me paying out of pocket for a repair, not a free one) I find this hard to be...

How important is Analog Really?

Just when I thought I had made a decision...

For the past few years, I've been traveling around Florida working as an account rep. for a publishing company. Some of my accounts were in pretty rural areas so I thought it necessary to have a phone that had the ability to go into analog mode. Though in retrospect, I can't think of a single time my phone actually did go into analog mode. I occasionally would force it into analog mode looking for better signal strength.

My circumstances have changed, I've gone back to school and am enrolled full time in a law program. I spend my time now commuting a few times a year between my school in South Florida up to my family's home in Central Florida. I take the turnpike all the way up and was plea...

Attn: I could use some help, Please.....

I could use some help in making a decision about camera phones.
I am in my 8th month of a 1 year contract with Verizon. I own a LG VX-6000 camera phone that works perfectly 100% of the time..
I am interested in getting a new camera phone in thse order of choices. LG VX-8000(if it ever comes out), Moto v710 and LG VX-7000.
A friend of my owns a moto v600 and he has had many problems with it.(he has ATTWS service) I have heard a lot of "bad things" Motorola on several different forums. So I really don't trust their phones. The LG VX-7000 is not that much different from my LG VX-6000.
The price of a new phone is of no concern, I always go with one year contracts. 2 year contracts will always cost you more, no matter how much you th...
