Verizon's V60s

I was on the VZW website checking out the latest deals so I can decide what plan & phone I wanted (I am porting from ATTWS) and I noticed the V60s is no longer listed! 😡 What gives? Is it being replaced? ☹️

Ok Mr. or Ms. Schnozejt

I think we should see just how good schnozejt, thinks he or she is. 😁 Is there a senior rep in this forum up for the challenge, to challenge "schnozejt". I'm not trying to be a smarty, just would be interesting to read. Have a senior VZW rep conduct a quiz on here for "schnozejt" let's see how he/or she does. 🤣

Verizon Speakerphones

Just to let everyone know who is interested, I have started the ball rolling with complaining about the issue of speakerphones on the new flips from VZW not working when closed. I spoke with CS, and asked them to put a comment in about it. Whoever is interested, I suggest you do the same (*611 for CS). Not sure how much good my one phonecall will do, but the rep gave me the impression that if enough people complain about it, they will do something about it. I even told her I'd be willing to pay an extra $20 for a speakerphone to work while closed (about the cost of a headset). I know there are people out there who do care about this, especially those who use their phones a lot during a commute, so if you do care, be proactive about it a...

Getting on father's national plan - questions/Catch22s?

My father offered to add me to his Verizon national calling plan. I pay activation, the $20/month FamilySharePlan fee, and buy the phone... looks like a good reason to switch from AttWs. I have some questions.

Distance
He lives near York, PA; I'm in eastern PA near Philadelphia.
I'm worried that adding me to his plan will upset Verizon (because I'm not nearby - Verizon is significantly more expensive where I live). Is this a problem? If so, what is Verizon likely to do?

Will I lose features because I'm not nearby? Example: Verizon's website says I get "unlimited night and weekend home airtime minutes". I'm guessing that the HOME part of the "home airtime minutes" means that since I'm not nearby, I lose the night and weekend minutes...

Moto V265 Great Phone! Just got it!

I just got me and a friend the V265 and we love the phone. The battery life is great. The phone has a light sensor that only allows the key pad lights to operate when it is near dark. Saves battery life. Also the screen is kind of small but also saves battery. The speaker is very good and most important to me the ear piece volume is very loud unlike my soon to be sold V710! I love the size and the look of the phone. Also the screen sits of the key pad so the screen won't scratch like EVERY V710 out there!!!!! Also wont scratch above the camera!!! Design is so nice.

When I need help!

I have a question, it's basically a general Q. My understanding about over the phone customer service, and technical support is why the constant inconsistency of help methods, & answers to my questions. Is there not some kind of basic guidelines one must follow at a company such as this?

Pocket PC w/ bluetooth

I would like to get a pocket pc based phone with bluetooth and maybe even 802.11a/b comms facility. Anyone know if verizon is planning releasing something soon with this setup. I heard there may be phone (Daxian’s cu928?) might be offered by verizon - Any truth to this?

If not verizon, what other carriers have phones like this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Help with LG products...

I need a new phone. I'm on Verizon Wireless, and they really have the worst phone lineup of all carriers. GSM beats phone selection hands down. Anyway, I'm interested in the LG 6000 or 7000. Can you connect either one of these phones to your PC via infrared or some other way? I want to be able to synch up with Outlook on my computer and to be able to backup my data. The 7000 has MP3 capability, so I assume there is a way to copy MP3's directly to the phone via a computer, correct? But I can't find any information on the connectivity options....help! Also, if you own either one of these phones, let me know how you like them...or hate them. I heard from friends and on the web that the LG 6000 and 7000 are both good phones.

I Am eligible to upgrade. Should I do it now or wait a little while?

I have Verizon and am now eligible to upgrade.
If I were to do it now I would get the LG VX4500.

I am wondering if I should upgrade now or wait a little while (preferably no more than a month or so) for something new with the same basic features?
The features I am interested in are good reception, good audio quality, non-camera flip/clamshell phone with two displays (preferred, one OK), speakerphone and multiple vibrate and ring settings including vibrate then ring (although I will compromise on this as well since the 4500 doesn't have this).
Thank You

PS I really don't want/need a camera phone and am wondering whats up with practically all new phones being camera phones. Some places don't even allow camera phones and yet that seem...

How SECURE Is Mobile Web?

Since I'll be getting a new phone with New Every 2 in the near future, and will probably get one with WAP 2.0 capability, I would appreciate your opinion(s) on Mobile Web 2.0 SECURITY. Right now I'm totally happy with my Motorola V60i as a phone. I've never thought about using it as a web browser. However, the ability to access some of the Get It Now getGOING or getWEB features may be of interest. For instance, no longer paying my occasional 411 Directory Assistance charges may offset the $4.99 per month that's the price of admission to GIN just by using Superpages for phone number lookups.

I've no interest in games, wallpaper, pix, flix, etc. It's possible that I may develop the occasional use of IM or E-mail, but voice is so...

Why buy at Verizon store?

I've been a Verizon Wireless (NYNEX, Bell Atlantic, etc.) customer for six or eight years and have always dealt directly with Verizon's stores for phone purchases and account service. When it comes to hardware cost, I've paid through the nose for the privilege of dealing direct.

In the past I've been tempted to keep my accounts and purchase my phones from independent stores/kiosks where the prices are always so much better than Verizon's direct prices. I've never done so because I've been concerned about warranty service, repair service, being without a phone (or loaner) while the Mom & Pop store sends mine off for repair, potential customer service problems, etc. Are these valid concerns? If so, please outline what I should be aware ...

Some usability questions about AVox 8900?

Just got the phone and in general happy but have few questions:

1. Is there a "vibrate then ring" mode? Manual seems to say yes but in Settings for ringer volume I failed to find this. The only thing I can get is vibrate *and* ring which's obviously not what I want.

2. Any way to make outer screen to show date/time permanently without auto flipping to pointless "Verizon Wireless" message? This drives me nuts since most often then not when I take out the phone to check time it shows stupid message. For display to flip I have either to press the side key or like an idiot to wait when it happens by itself.

3. Any way to get rid of Verizon's power on/off background pics and music?

4. That's not exactly useability but who actually mak...

Software Update

Is there a software update for the Audiovox CDM-8900. I was just wondering because my friends have the LG VX6000 and the Audiovox CDM-8600, and their GetItNow service has so many more programs than my phone..in particular I'm speaking of the mobile IM program available on the 6000 and the 8600. How can I get that program on my phone (8900)?

GSM vs: CDMA Debate is now over, see home page!

Well there you have it GSM and CDMA all wrapped up into one phone, the Samsung 790. So much for the debate over which is better CDMA or GSM. Now it's a mute point if both are offered in the same phone. So now the debate will push to the "5th" Mode phone. 🤣 🤣

? for Verizon sales Reps.

We received a special deal in the mail from Verizon. The deal is an additional 30 dollars off of a phone plus a coupon for 20 dollars off accessories. This deal is only good through phone sales. My question is. If we walk into a Verizon store would they give us the same deal.
