Storm 5.0 Email Glitch?

I updated to the new software. If i am emailing new or replying to someone in my address book I can send. If i am going to email someone not in my address book it doesn't give me the option to send.

Customer service had me reload the OS but didn't help...any ideas?

Storm or Tour

I'm eligible for my upgrade and want to take advantage of the buy one get one free. My wife wants the curve, but I can't decide whether to go with the tour or the storm (especially now that it has a software update.) Please help!

Droid Questions

A couple of quick questions I found someone on the BGR was asking about the droid.

1) Like the IPhone, will the Droid have software to back up the system so just in case the phone crashes or screws up some how, it can easily be recovered?
2) Like the IPhone, with the texting feature of saving the conversations between texts, will the Driod have this?
3) Like the IPhone, on the recovery of the IPhone, all the settings were placed back on the IPhone just like before, will the Droid have this feature?
4) Like the IPhone, will the Driod have unlimited access to either WiFi or internet connection with only the $30.00 data package, or will we they also charge minutes or per data download?

Thanks 4 the help!

Facebook

So I've seen these FB status updates saying something like 'via Blackberry' or via 'mobile web.'

So if someone updates their FB status via an Android handset will it say 'via Droid' or at least 'via Android'? 😕

The next two years

My two years are about up. I have had a smartphone for the last 4 years, now I am reconsidering. If Apple puts an FM radio in their Touch player, I may go back to a basic phone and forget the extra features for a phone, and instead us the Touch. I have wanted a phone with all features, but that has not worked out so well. The Motorola smartphone was ok, but I am not so thrilled with my Omnia, since I think is is a very poorly functioning phone. Maybe the new (is it HTC) or the new Blackberry will give me all of the features I want. I think my most important criteria this time will be a 3.5 earphone jack. Then, at least I can use my phone as a phone and a music player.

Storm 2 or Android

Hey All

I am super excited with the new Blackberry Storm 2 but wasnt sure if its worth waiting for any of the new android headsets making their way to Verizon in the future. I have an ipod touch and am sure the Storm 2's keyboard is better than that but I am hearing the Android is supposed to be pretty sweet.

Thoughts?

Verizon Wireless' 3Q Performance

Wireless Delivers Industry-Leading Profitability, Strong Customer Growth

Verizon Wireless continued to lead the industry with the highest profit margins. In the third quarter 2009:

• Verizon Wireless had 89.0 million customers at the end of the quarter, an increase of 25.7 percent year over year, and 6.3 percent on a pro forma basis. Verizon Wireless is the largest wireless company in the U.S. in terms of total customers and revenues.

• The company also has the most retail customers of any U.S. wireless provider and conti...

3G Data test

Sprint customers keep saying there 3G data network is "faster overall" by PC World.

I was reading and found this:

In Novarum's tests for us, Verizon Wireless demonstrated a good mix of speed and reliability. Across more than 20 testing locations in each of the 13 cities we tested, Verizon had an average download speed of 951 kbps. Verizon demonstrated good reliability, too; the network was available at a reasonable and uninterrupted speed in 89.8 percent of our tests.

Sprint's 3G network delivered a solid connection in 90.5 percent of our 13-city tests. Sprint's average download speed of 808 kbps across 13 cities wasn't flashy (at that speed, a 1MB file downloads in 10 seconds), but dependability is an important asset. The Sprint ne...

Motorola Droid

Well this isn’t reassuring. These remarks from the review of the Motorola Cliq talk of poor signal and audio.
I’m assuming VZW’s Motorola Droid will have some of the same internals kind of like an assembly line, use the same basic design just swap out some carrier specific components
I have been eagerly awaiting this VZW Motorola Android device, I sure hope it turns out better than TMO’s.

Signal

In a word, horrid. Where I live and tested this phone, there is ample 3G coverage from T-Mobile, yet the CLIQ barely connected to T-Mobile's 3G network. Most of the time, it fell back to EDGE. This made for terrible web and data performance. A phone such as the CLIQ needs 3G all the time to really be useful. O

Can I Switch Alltel Phone on Alltel Plan

I just switched over to Verizon from Alltel and have a great plan with Alltel. I do not want to loose this plan, but I need a new phone. If I purchase an Alltel phone from ebay, will Verizon allow me to activate it? Will they allow me to activate it without switching my plan? Will they allow me to activate it without extending my contract? With Alltel, this was no problem, it's just an ESN change.

Thanks for your help.

This is a funny Droid advertisement from Verizon, Scary themed

"It hears. It knows."
Google search by voice.

"It sees in the dark."
Built in 5-megapixel low light camera.

Pretty funny stuff.

Too much hype for the Droid. Other new phones are better.

I am concerned about all the Droid hype. What about the HTC Imagio and the Samsung Omnia 2?
I think they will be way better than the Droid.
I wonder why Verizon is hyping this so much?
Android phones are really for the tech boys and not the general public. I think that Verizon is making another mistake like the big hoopla over the introduction of the BB Storm.

Storm 2

Well I know I've said it before but I think I am going to rescind my first reaction. I want the Storm 2 now. I hated Touch screens but I hear that the touch response thats on the Storm 2 is supposed to blow the iphone touch's screen away. Look forward to getting it. Anyone have any thought?

WoW BGR says the Droid "s the most impressive phone we’ve used since the iPhone'"

That's a pretty big statement to make for BGR!
Btw, does the Droid have a 3.5 jack? I think Droid is the coolest name for an Android phone so far.

"No one wants to listen, but it makes the CLIQ looks like a child’s toy (partly because it is, and partly because the Droid, even in its non-final form, is the most impressive phone we’ve used since the iPhone. It’s positively amazing)."
