Question on phone exchange

About 2 weeks ago the charging port on my LG Dare broke. I went in to a Verizon store to discuss my options, thinking that since my phone was insured I could simply swap it out for a new Dare. Well after the guys told me about the deductible and how the Dare replacement would be a refurbished phone, I decided my best bet would be to just look for a new phone altogether. Since I'm a Verizon VIP, I was eligible for an annual upgrade in about a week, which the guys at the store kindly went ahead and approved for me to upgrade early because of the situation with my phone. Not having done much research on phones (as I wasn't expecting this to happen), I got a BlackBerry Tour for $270 and a $100 mail-in rebate (which I have not sent in...the box i...

how much?

How much is a basic Verizon family plan with let's say 2 lines and 2 smart phones.

We typically call each other and call other people on the weekend or nights?

Doing some research at work where I'm firewalled.

Please and thank you.

Who needs a key? IPhone app unlocks and starts car

By Chris Woodyard, USA TODAY
A California company Tuesday will announce an iPhone application and car receiver that will enable users to lock, unlock and remotely start their car with the phone rather than the car's key fob.
The Viper SmartStart is the latest example of automotive electronics functions migrating into Apple iPhone and other smartphones, including turn-by-turn directions or locating the closest gas station.

Such ideas are a challenge for automakers and aftermarket suppliers for whom advanced auto electronics have been highly profitable.

"The days of these dedicated products we could put in our cars are rapidly coming to an end unless those products e

Questions about switching from Alltel to Verizon.

My phone has been messing up on me recently and I would like to upgrade. I'm still a 620 alltel customer and went into Verizon today and they said the earliest they will have that info would be tomorrow but most likely later. I would like to get a Rogue, but am on a family plan where my brother has a smart phone. Would that effect me being able to get a Rogue? Would I have to pay more per month for the data plan you have to get with the Rogue still?

Basically, I need a phone with HTML browsing, but figure a smartphone would be overkill for my needs since I will only need the browser and texting capabilities.

Also, my line isn't eligible for an upgrade just yet(I don't think), but I have heard that Verizon will upgrade Alltel cu...

straight talk

Is it true that straight talk is using Verizon for its backbone? If so, does that mean that for $45/month, I can use a "basic" phone (eg: moto razor) and get the same (unlimited) service that I pay verizon $100/month for? If this is the case, why should/would I keep verizon? Looking for input before I make a money saving move!

Anymore Blackberry Models coming to VZW besides the Storm 2?

I currently have the 8330 and will be elgible for my 1 yr upgrade in April 2010. Just wondering if there will be something else besides the Tour or Storm 2? I don't really care for the look of the Tour and I don't do all-touchscreen phones. If you have some info then pls do comment. Thank you. ๐Ÿ™‚

Storm 2 Emulator now available for Employees

Well look what we have here, a little Storm 2 surprise on a gloomy Saturday night (sorry, its raining in WI). Im sure an official announcement and concrete release date is around the corner.

I like sometime in early November for the release, thats when the BOGO blackberry promotion ends. Cause lord knows verizon is not letting nab two storms for the price of one!

Storm vs. Touch Pro

I am trying to decide between these touch phones. I need internet access to check emails and love the touch concept and have been wanting to try it for my upgrade from a great phone LG 8600 that has reached it's retirement age. Also, I live in Wyoming where Alltel is going to stay Alltel and not switch over, which means that we don't get Verizon and the Storm is only carried by Verizon but Touch Pro is MUCH cheaper through Alltel. Any and all suggestions are welcome!

Page Plus

I understand that Page Plus uses the Verizon network. If I am a Verizon customer on a month-to-month (contract long expired) and I am using the LG-8300 - and I usually go no more than 200 minutes a month (many times less) - is there any reason why I wouldn't go to Page Plus and get their 300 minutes for $25 - that only needs to be replenished every four months?

What is Sholes?

I have been doing all kinds of reading recently on all kinds of things. Following 1 article to the next I have encountered the name "Sholes" a few times now. "Sholes" is suppose to be a threat to Android?

Is Sholes a phone? a Operating system? What exactly is Sholes?

I ask the Verizon forums because "Sholes" is associated with Verizon on every article I have encountered the name.
