Just lost data

I just lost data on my Env Touch. 😲
Is there an VZW EVDO outage?
I was using data earlier today just fine, now my phone only has the 1X indicator and when I try the browser it tells me to call 611 for data. 😕
Just checked my account and it still shows Vcast VPAK on it.
Power cycled phone, updated roaming, no help.
I wonder if this has anything to do with the new enhanced media pricing, maybe we won't get grandfathered in? 😡

Interesting Article

I am not a Verizon basher however the article raises some valid points on the way Verizon decides on what smart phones they want.

Enjoy the read

BREW app store

Over the past month or so I have heard rumors of a better app store will come to VZW (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content /article/2009/07/28/AR2009072802699.html).

I currently have the EnvTouch (perfect for apps) and I love it minus the lack of applications that Get it Now provides. Actually GIN sucks for apps and I do not want to get a blackberry or a win-mo phone to utilize apps. This phone would be much more enjoyable with more options and apps. I personally think that VZ should create a BREW service or a separate VZW online app store would be fantastic. Are any of the rumors true? If so, when would they release this potentially awesome technology? Thanks

In-contract trick to get new blackberry for cheap, possible?

Ok, so here is the deal. This all may sound like a lot but work with me here…

My gf has a storm and can’t take it anymore, its just not for her. We just got it swapped out for a refurb so it is in new condition. What she wants in the blackberry tour, however given the price they are going for ebay minus the price her storm would go for still makes her spend around $200 after everything. I think this would work to get it for cheaper:

1. Add a line to her account = Tour cost $99 at best buy (have to wait for that deal to come back, this was the last weeks price though, it increased to $150 since then)

2. Sell her new “refurbished” Storm on eBay for around $250-$275

3. Switch the ESN’s to put the new Tour...

America's Choice plan

I guess Verizon is trying to get all the people on America's Choice plan to drop it or forget a new phone. I have a Curve for that exact reason, I can use it and keep my plan. If I go for the TP2 to upgrade it won't let me without changing my voice plan. CS told me I cannot order that phone with AC plan. Sucks..........

Anyone have an Idea when?

I know......I know..........BUT

I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about the new Samsung Omnia II being available this month?

The one thing i HATE about Verizon is the top secret nature of the new releases! Ever since i first read about this phone i have wanted it.

Any idea when it will be available?????

Thanks

Verizon vs. AT&T

My contract has expired with Verizon and I'm looking at new phones. I'd prefer to stay with Verizon for it's coverage and customer service, but there are two things that make me want to switch to AT&T.

Java:
I understand that you can download java applications, such as Google Maps for free on AT&T phones (not just the iPhone and Blackberries, but all handsets that support Java). Does anyone know if Verizon has plans to drop the overpriced and limited availability Brew software for the widely available and often free Java software support?

GSM/World Coverage:
I occasionally travel internationally and would like to be able to use my phone abroad. I know Verizon offers a few phones that support GSM through Vodafone internationally. Does...

Verizon TouchPro 2 to land September 11th at 199.99!

http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2009/09/04/verizon-wi ... »

As if an Android handset and a couple of Blackberry handsets weren’t enough, Verizon Wireless customers may have yet another handset coming quickly down the pike. A trusted ninja let us know that VZW’s Touch Pro2 is slated to launch on September 11th for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and the obligatory 2-year contract. If this is in fact the case, and we have no reason to doubt it, it will be a massive slap in the face to both Sprint and T-Mobile as each of their Pro2s bear a $350 price tag. Wow. Go and revel this long Labor Day weekend, Verizon fans — and when the week is out, don’t forget to hit...

Recommended BT car kit brands?

Hello!

Given the choice between Parrot, mrHandsfree, or Motorola, which would you recommend for best compatibility with a Verizon XV6800 phone?

I have Googled until my brain is oozing.

I have looked at these units so far:
Nokia CK-7W
Parrot CK3000 Evolution
Motorola IHF1000, T605
mrHandsfree Blue Compact Pro and Blue Smart

I want a kit that integrates with the stereo in my truck (2002 Ford Exploder).

I am looking for anyone who has any of these models working well for them.

Thank you.

Hey RIM, Where Is the Love? Storm 2 camera love that is.

Another phone blog reports that T-Mobile's BlackBerry Onyx 9700 (BOLD) will launch with a 5-megapixel camera. Where is the Storm love? Last year, I finally went with the Storm, only after trying out the Omnia and its better camera 1st. I only went with the Storm b/c I didn't like the small qwerty keyboard presented on the Omnia.

Its getting harder to choose RIM, whom I've come to like, when other phones like the Omnia 2 and Motorola Shole are getting ready to drop. After all of the Storm's OS trials and tribulations, they've finally gotten a tight OS together (wow I can't believe I just typed that, and boy do I deserve some sort of medal for not sending the phone flying into the flippn' ocean while RIM and Verizon left their clients t...

Blackberry Curve 2

🤤

I was reading a little online and heard that a BB Curve 2 is going to be coming out soon. Though not listed for Verizon on Youtube I have a video that shows someone unboxing what he calls the Curve 2 for T-Mobile. Does anyone know of anything like this coming out for Verizon?
