Blue Rep's Last Names - Update 1

We just talked to our National director and he said that ALL call centers nationwide HAVE to use their REAL last names and not fake ones.

We find this to complete BS, becasue when we call other centers for transfers we have been asking them if they are allowed to use fake last names or not, and we have not found *1* center that can not apply for fake last names and/or use them right now.

We are now compliling a list of such calls to give to him to show he's wrong. If you work in such a center and don't want to be giving out your real name to wierdos then we suggest you do the same.

3rd Party Vendors

I was wondering what people thought about third party call centers (ex. West Teleservices/Convergys answering ATT calls). Personally, I think that they are a bad idea. Employees for these types of companies usually don't receive as good as benefits as regular ATT/Cingular employees, and they are treated as though they are disposable. There is a lack of corporate loyalty and enthusiasm when you work for a 3rd party vendor. I have worked for a third party vendor for two years now and it is the worst job I have ever had. Any thoughts?

Why is it that ATT or Cingular can not unlock phones? WHY!?

Loophole?

Hey check this. If a blue cust in contract migrates to orange and then cancels under buyers remorse,are they not getting out of there original agreement? 😕

This forum is supposed to be relevant to At&T Wireless/Cingular and the surrounding wireless industry. I know not not everyone has access to the general discussions and Lounge Forum from work(I know I don't), but that doesn't mean we have to post it all here.

The above remarks are a very simplified, condensed version of the sort of drivel that doesn't need to be here. If you want to make someone else look bad or unintelligent, do it by showing some maturity, intelligence and class. Changing Rate plans

It used to be that with ATTWS you were able to adjust your rate plan up or down within the billing cycle and that change would be effective for the whole billing cycle. I just called to adjust my plan (lower it) and they told me it will be in effect starting tomorrow but not from the beginning of the cycle.

What gives? is that true?

would rather cancel than pay his deductable?

I just had a customer who stripped out the threads on his antenna for his Motorola V60. It is still under warranty, but warranty wont cover any physical damage. Told the customer to get a new phone through his insurance, but he doesnt want to pay the deductable. Also he doesn't want to move to cingular, plus there is no blue upgrades available. Customer is very angry about this and doesnt want to continue service with AT&T if he has to pay his deductable. wow, $40-$50 dollars for a deductable. He would rather move to an entirely different company and pay the ETF. like what is wrong with some people's thinking? 😕

Raiding Party

You know what I find amusing? These people who are diehard loyalists to whatever service provider they like going into other carrier forums and posting defamitory, and argumentative statements trying to incite some sort of angry response from the loyalist in that camp. It reminds me of some futuristic, apocolyptic tale where these different clans are all raiding each other fighting over the water in the last clean river or something. It's funny. I'm not saying stop. These incursions into each others Turf is at the most basic level amusing and in general beneficial to all communities in creating discource between the carrier minions that we all are.

waiving etfs

i replyed to a post prevoius with this same text...but its burried under replies so im reposting as its own thread.


for someone who craps policy and berates other reps for handling business calls or not proper call flow etc, you sure seem willing to violate the same policys. seems to me your a hipocrite. (etfs are NOT waived unless a: death of customer, military leave, migration to preferrd site - gsm with cingular/aws or in last month of contract when a port out occurs. ie, contract end date jan 20, bill cycle ends jan 26th, cance/port out on jab 17th. etf gets waived. also in some cases if your service has no usage (not even 1 minute) for the last little while, so a few months....and then its up to the sup. NOT because guy here is pi...

I HEARD THAT THE V3 RAZOR IS GOING TO BE A LIMITED EDITION PHONE. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHEN IT MIGHT GET DISCONTINUED. AND IF ANYONE KNOWS ANYTHING BOUT THE V3 FEATURES PLEASE POST.

yay, some easy calls, at least for a little while

Today I had about fifteen calls which I had to fix vm. Thanks to that new change with the alpha tags (at&t-cingular) at least I was able to take a little bit of stress off at work.

Why do customers have to do this? Why must you spell your name out to me when I ask for it? I don't care how it's spelt, I asked you for your name, NOT it's spelling! I can see how it is spelt on your account that you are verifying. If your doing this because people mispronounce it then you pronounce it correctly for me to begin with and lets move on. RAWR!!!

GOING DOWN WITHOUT A FIGHT/BLAME CINGULAR

I just had a customer call in and ask why ATT went down without a fight. He says, "you guys didnt even try to fight Cingular, you just kinda bent over and took it in the ass. Whassup wit that?" As you can guess I didnt have an answer for him.

I do have a question though, why is it that everyone wants to blame the merger for every little thing that goes on with the phone? All I hear all day is:

"My phone was working just fine before the merger, and now I dont remember my voicemail password!"

"I never had roaming charges before ya'lls mergered!"

"If you hadn't merged then I would've never gone over my minutes!"


OK, so those are exaggerated (sp?) examples, but most of these calls are for problems that occured before the merger ...
