This is great...

So I currently have a customer on the line... He just Migrated, turn the phone on, it asks for the subsidy... Of course, the obvious reason being either the SIM or phone is not Cingular...

The customer swears up and down that it is... Even after we verify the IMEI is a non-cingular phone... Refuses to go into store to verify the phone...

I mean, what goes through people's minds? Do they honestly think we don't know what's possible and impossible... Anyways though... I'm bored and decided to humor him and got tech on the line... LOL...

WTF

Yeah so just got off a call with a customer, he got his invoice 15 days late and is making that his excuse as to why he is behind in payments. I tell him he cannot migrate until he takes care of the past due, customer asked for contract end date and then threw in that we broke the contract that he signed with AWS because Cingular took over. I adv. him Cingular took over his contract so there is no contract breech. Customer then stated I couldn't help him and left the call.

"SORRY that you can't pay your bills on time or get yourself caught up. SORRY that we don't want you having a past due balance from your AWS account."

Good thing his contract isn't over for another year. Time to suck on some ETF.

Thats it, im starting with Customer call backs. I have been waiting on hold with another dept for 30min. Im like "Yeah can i get your home phone number ill call you back when i get in and they need something."

So what's your trademarkâ„¢?

Having been a Res Desk rep for a while now, I've had to come with some different analogies in order to get an idea across to some of our... say we say... less that brillant customers. Over time I've hear other reps rattle off their own humdingers and now I'm curious to hear yours.

This one is my personal trademark.

"So what you are saying is because you've had your driver's license for over twenty years, you shouldn't be charged for speeding?"

just a thought

Ive been wanting to discuss this for some time now. I dont understand why in the beginning "we" were not forcing customers to switch to cingular, yet everyday that goes by it seems like something has changed and the only way to get anywhere and to resolve an issue with equipment or rateplan is to migrate a customer to cingular. I feel that this is really unecessary and if cingular really wanted to do this the right way and I am sure that there is a way to do this...legacy should have the ability to use "cingular" branded phones on their legacy plans. I imagine it wouldnt be that difficult to chnage some system settings to allow this. Also what I would is expire all the existing legacy plans (aws and cingular) and anyone wanting to join aws o...

Free phones and more mins free with no contract

Now I just want to shed some light onto something here. Now we hear nothing but I want a free phone over and over in CC. Fine great if you renew or sign up you should get a deal now what i find humourous and this is in part due to the fact that I live in Canada, but we will take a 3year yes that'sright 3 yr contract and still pay upwards of 200-500 for a fon. AS A NEW CUSTOMER!! as well as an activation fee. And to top it ALL OFF here is the real kicker when we hear customer complaining that they only get 600 mins on a 39.99 plan with LD included nw m2m vm call id for 39.99 plus taxes it blows my mind with companies in canada we get for 39.99 like maybe 150 daytime mins if we are lucky NO LD we have to pay to get taht feature and even t...

Scripting

Holy mother of Mary I am ticked about the whole stupid useless scripting we have. We are now up to at least 5 scripts, Dead Air, Opening, PIR, Closing, and Ending. Come on, I am here to help the customer, not to swamp them with bloody scripts. I can understand the use of some, but ALL in one call?!?!?!? Here is something neat and simple,
ME - "Thank you for calling Cingular, may I please have your 10 digit wireless number."
Customer gives number.
ME - "Thank you, how can I assist?"
Customer gives problem I solve it, end the call, next call.
3 scripts, instead of 5. Right now I have to take a deep breath to spout off my opening because I don't use the verification tool, as that is slow at brining accounts up. I am sick of this useless c...

Snow

Ok - i was just watching the news - you people in california - shovel your roofs!!!!!
I live in canada & i know - the snow will make your roof cave in...from what i've seen you guy's got about 3 -5 feet of snow on your houses & it's probably wet snow......
And it will fall through.
Trust me so go shovel your roofs!!!!

Question

Why is it, that since the merger I have been getting calls that customer are saying their service got worst, extra charges have been charged on account, was charged roaming when they have a local plan?

What makes me mad is that customers use the excuse that we merge and they want a credit for everything.

Has this hapened to anyone?

Nokia6620 and Mac G4

I am looking for information on how to sync the Nokia 6620 with the Mac G4 via the DKU-2 data cable. One question I have is are there different drivers for the Mac vs. PC? Any information would be usefull. I have done this personally with the Nokia PC Suite software and Windows XP Pro, but I am clueless when it comes to Mac.

QUESTION

IS CINGULAR ORANGE SHORT HANDED IN STAFF EVERY TIME I CALL IT IS ALMOST A HOUR OF HOLD TIME . IT IS SO BAD THAT I CAN EAT MY LUNCH AND STILL BE ON HOLD.

Any blue reps have the same issue? what do you do when on Hold?

T-mobile vs. Cingular??

I am currently a T-mobile customer in Boston,MA. Not the greatest reception but not terrible. My question is, should I stick with T-Mobile and get the Samsung e-715 and sign a 1 year contract or should I switch to Cingular and get the Sony Ericsson z500a (2 year contract)? I am nervous about Cingular due to the terrible reviews I have found online... thanks!!

wow....the center im at is on target for a donation of 2000.00! i cant believe how helpful people can be in time of crisis. i encourage everyone to donate something to this fund. even if its only a buck. if everyone at your center donated a dolalr, it would probally mean a total of over 500.00 and with over 50 call centers (im guessing but ill go with 50...its a nice even number) that would mean a total donation of 100,000.00!! think about it....im sure if something like this happened to you, youd be looking for help. i know i would.

superior posting and the relevancy of too much time on your hands

this is directed mainly towards ad and agent debit. now i dont mean to come across as insulting or vindictive, since these people have replied to my own posts. i just get the impression that your coming across as rather condecending and rude. everyone makes mistakes and and can misread information. in alot of cases when it comes to policys it can go either way. its all judgment calls for reps. as an example, the 60 courtesy air minutes stacking with the 30 and 15 promos, in some cases, depending on markets this can be done. but its market dependant. this is from an ops manager and a sup and trainier. granted sometimes people forget to mention certain things. everyone does it. myself included. but when trying to "correct" someone telling the...
