Customer Retention Help

I'm hoping someone with experience dealing w/ Cingular's customer retention dept can help me. I've been chomping at the bit to leave cingular due to many bad experiences. I've been out of my contract for a few months and have researched the phone and deal that I'd like with another carrier. I've realized though how many people I know who are also on Cingular and, though they're just as unhappy as I am, they're less likely to change, at least in the short-term. This means no more unlimited m2m. Anyway, I've considered giving Cingular just 1 more year to prove that they've improved (my experience has gotten over the past 6 months), but to get a comparable plan to what I've seen elsewhere (with data service and text messaging) would cost $...

Still having signal issues

Ok I have done everything Cingular has asked to figure out the problem I've been having with the signal in zip code 70633. I have a Palm Treo 650 and I can have full bars on my phone. I go to make a phone call, and it drops to 0 bars, although the call goes through. I used to not have these problems. Sometimes the signal fluctuates between 0 bars, 2-3 bars, then 5 bars (full). So far I've changed my sim card, did a warranty replacement, and cingular put in a trouble ticket. The trouble ticket showed that it was "resolved" with no notes, so that tells me nothing was done about it. Since I've done all this, I am still having the same problem. I am extremely frustrated. Does anyone have any ideas on what else I can do?

The Speed of WiMAX

So I just read this in another carrier forum and I thought I'd share. I know a few of us have been asking this question lately.

CEO Gary Forsee said:
"The 4G network will be four times faster than today's EV-DO network. And at these speeds, it's all about lighting up new devices. Imagine accessing YouTube.com and MySpace.com literally on the fly."

Hey, they're serious about this. It might happen sooner than anticipated, too—Sprint said the network would go live in the fourth quarter of 2007, adding that 100 million users would be on that network by the end of 2008. The best news for us is that this really is going to be similar to cable broadband service if these suits aren't lying, and t

Help Cingular Sales Reps

I switched to Cingular over a month ago. The sales rep promised to waive the activation fees on all my lines if I make sure that he gets the deal. He said he sapproval before waiving it so he has to initially add to my initial bill.

Well, it has been over a month. I stopped by and emailed, no response.
What to do?

Yes- this is also in shoptalk-- Q for Cing COR Reps....

I saw a previous post about how customer care is sending people to the wrong places and such, giving people wrong information... Out of curiosity-- what are the biggest issues when CCARE sends customers to the stores? I'm only asking because I am in a call center and just wants to know specifically so I don't make the same mistakes...

Sony Ericsson HPM-85 Headphones

SO I got a new SE phone & I dont really like the headphones that come with it. I tried using my own headphones, but I found that combined with the mic cord for my phone, it is far too long (like 6 feet of cord).

So anyways.... I was wondering if anyone has gotten the SE HPM-85 headphones? One of my main gripes with the current headphones I have (HPM-70) is that the cord loops to one side, under the chin to the left ear, then goes down to the mic. Do the HPM-85 headphones do this, or do the meet in the middle like traditional headphones? And how long is the cord for it?

I need someone who knows to tell me....

.... is this new Blackjack I just got for Cingular supposed to have this blurred call quality compared to my Treo 700p I have for Sprint? It's so bad that the speakerphone is almost completely unusable. Could this be a lemon or is this normal because I am about to trade it in for a Treo 680 but I'd rather have the 3g capability if this Blackjack just needs to be replaced. Thanks

Phone advice

Ok I have an upgrade due on my account, and I have a really hard time making up my mind what I want. I'm torn between the Blackjack and the V3xx.

I dont really want to pay the PDA Connect $39.99 a month (please, spare me the Media Max 19.99 advice), and I dont use 3000 txt msgs a month either. But I love the cool factor of the phone, plus some of the smartphone features as well.

I like the V3xx because it's capable of 3.6 HSDPA. And, I'm willing to pay the 19.99 Media Max for Cingular Video.

So, having said all that, here's what I want my new phone to do:
1. 3G. This is a must.
2. 1.3 mp camera, at least.
3. mp3 player (no itunes)
4. good signal strength

Given those 4 requirements, I'm open to suggestions on other pho...

Sony Ericsson and Disc2Phone software

Is there a way to get a newer version of it? I have been noticing some glitches that are starting to get on my nerves

1- While uploading songs to my phone. Let's say I just uploaded disc A to the phone. I take disc A out, put disc B in, but then it'll still show disc A in the playlist. To fix this I have to completely close the program and open it again. This is getting on my nerves.

2- Under Music Source if I choose My Computer I can see all my songs from iTunes (can't use them) but they still show. What's the point of that? I wish the songs from iTunes were at least grayed out to let me know which are the one that I can use.

3g availability

How do you check for 3g availability in your area and when it will be available if it's not already? I'm in Fort Myers, FL and haven't gotten the signal yet on my Blackjack. Thanks

customer care makes indirect look bad.

I don't know if it is specifically their fault, but customer care always gives the address to our stores for things that only COR stores can take care of like paying their bill with cash or check, re-setting online passwords, exchanging online or tele-sales equipment, transferring ringtones from phones, bill credits etc.... the list goes on. And when I tell customers they came to the wrong place they are #1 probably never coming back to my store #2 getting a bad taste for cingular for making the run around town #3 making themselves look bad for not knowing what they are talking about. Maybe next time you try to send a customer in, you should call us first mmkay?

Suspicious phone problems

🤨 I have had two very disheartening experiences because I can only surmise that there are other suspicious 'forces' at play. I had purchased two Nokia 6230 phones from Cingular two years ago for my wife and I to use. I had 16 months left on my contract left and her contract had 20 months left. Anyhow, with three months left on my contract my phone started acting strange by dropping calls left and right with constant sender 50 messages. After repeated calls with both Nokia and Cingular I was out of luck. So I figure it was a fluke and got another phone from Cingular. Out of curiosity I unlocked it and let my worker's wife use it and to this day it is working flawlessly on her T mobile... Well, two weeks ago after receiving my eligibility to...

Cingular/ATT needs to come up with unlimited Texts packages...

...and I don't mean the weak cingular to cingular texting, I am talking about a beefy plan where you could get unlimited text period, or maybe 5000 text messages. I have already used 2000 out of my 3000 text messages in two weeks, that may sound impossible, trust me it does to me as well, but its happening right now lol. I have friends with unlimited text from T-Mobile and this one girl i particular is killing me, killing me I tell ya.
