V365 Camera Lens Cover

Ok, fellow Cell phone lovers, bad news for those that are thinking about getting the Motorola V365. I was cleaning the phone when all of a sudden the cover to the lens fell out exposing the lens. So, if you have or are thinking about getting it remember this small yet big flaw. Thank goodness it fell out in front of me and I was able to find it. I "super glued" it. It's good as new. Other than that, this is still by far the best cell I've owned.
Glad I was able to help.

PC Card - Which one and what speed?

Any recommendations on the best pc card - reception and durability?

Also, I have seen the Option 3G Max (7.2 Ready) card but it never seems to show HSDPA in the Northern VA/DC area. Should it?

Thanks,
Mark

MediaFLO Explanation

So let me see if I have this right. I think a lot of people are talking about this yet some don't fully understand it (especially some of the people I work with).

Media FLO, Media Forward-Link-Only, is a TV-like broadcast system set in the 700 MHz range. Verizon and AT&T are planning to use this, so does that mean you will need a new phone that is MediaFLO capable? Are they going to have to release phones with a 700 MHz radio receiver? And is MediaFLO a seperate company that runs the show on their own?

Cingular 8525 Backup

I just purchase my 8525. Before I had a Seimans SX66 which ran Windows Mobile 3 operating system. The Sx66 had a program called Xbackup which I thought was part of the operating sys. Does the 8525 have a similar program loaded into it? If so what is it called? If not, what is the best backup solution?

New Star Service

I haven't seen this on CSP or anywhere else, but now customers can use *Services to check their text usage.

There's already the *MIN# for minutes, *BAL# for balance, and *PAY to pay your bill. Now there's *DATA# to check how much text and internet you have remaining.

NEED HELP with mac internet

I have a customer who has a mac that doesn't have a pcmcia or express card slot but he wants wireless internet. I told him that we could use a bluetooth phone and sync it up just fine, but the problem is I don't know where to download software to support the phone. Does anyone have experience creating a viable internet solution with cingular through a mac. I know the other option is to use a pcmcia to usb adapter but I can't find a cheap source for the software to support it.

The New ATT!

I haven't seen a thread in weeks about how Cingy is going to be forced to change into the new ATT and go back to billing like the old ATT did! I just thought I would do some pot stirring! 🤣 🤣 🤣

3G SIM Card Issue ?????

I wanted to upgrade - went for the V3xx - found I still can't get along with a Moto (even though it's a nice phone) - and returned it 2 days later.

Prior to making the move while visiting 3 different Cingular stores and specifically asked the question "will my 6230 still work with the 3G SIM card (so I can have a backup)?" A resounding "YES" from all three.

The 3G card DOES NOT work in my 6230 ("Restricted" error msg on phone) - and apparently Cingular can't re-activate my 6230 SIM card after it's been DE-activated. So now - rather than having a V3xx AND my 6230 - I don't have ANYTHING that works.

I've been to three Franchise Stores, one Corp store, talked to Corp Sales and Cust Svc (twice) ... and basically everybody just says "so...

GO phone problems in Phoenix, AZ

I've been with Cingular for over a year. I have had nothing but complaints from people I'm talking with that the reception from my phone is horrible (Moto flip phone). OK, I got a Sony Ericsson Z300a a couple of weeks and things are worse than ever. The phone's buttons aren't that responsive, I have to keep pressing them over and over again, or they just don't respond and I have to turn the phone off and then back on. The reception is horrible and my calls are constantly getting dropped. I like the GO phone pay-as-you-go concept because I don't use a lot of talk minutes (but do text a lot). I want to take the phone back and get something better. I need advice on a phone. I just want a basic phone, don't need music, video, or camera. I just w...

Best Cingular phone, reception wise.

Hi, CellDawg here. I've been around this site for some time now but just registered. My question is this. I need a new phone and am looking for the best Cingular has as far as reception goes. It would be nice if it had a good camera, bluetooth, and possibly a speaker phone. I don't need a smart phone and don't care what style of phone it is. I've been looking at the Sync, 3125, and now the V3xx. Any thoughts or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and God Bless! 😁

Interesting news that needs to be looked at...

😳 Seems that somebody is getting a little press stating the obvious that some of us have known for some time. Take a look.

v3xx converting SMS into MMS?!

Okay, so after having this phone for almost two weeks I couldn't have been more happy...until today.

Is anybody else having problems with this phone converting all SMS messages into MMS messages? Despite the length of the text--it could be 10 characters or 250--the phone automatically converts the message into an MMS before it is sent.

This hasn't happened for nearly two weeks and all of a sudden it changed. I triple and quadruple checked the settings and everything is as it should be.

Needless to say, I'm very annoyed and would love it if anybody could help me out. Thanks!

Phone prices from cingular.com

I've got a friend who's phone broke. He just got it like 3 months ago. He went into the store & they said it wasn't under warranty. The cheapest phones they had were $150+ and really boring. Anyway, he was wanting me to find out if the phones were cheaper online (cingular.com). I saw where there's an additional online discount for phones, if you're a new customer. I'm curious if anyone knows if there'll still be an online discount if you're not a new customer and not extending your contract??

I've had Cingular for one week now...

And so far everything is great. 🙂 I've had Verizon for the past several years so I'm used to having a good signal pretty-much everywhere. I was a little worried that I might regret switching to Cingular. But if this past week is typical of what I can expect, I'm going to regret that I didn't do it sooner.

Of course, a big part of why I am so happy is the phone I chose to get. I got the Sony Ericsson w300i and it is amazing! I really don't understand why this phone isn't mentioned/talked about/recommended more. It's loaded with features and everything works perfectly. The call quality, reception, bluetooth, UI, and battery life are the best I've ever experienced. And while I don't mess with it much myself, my son says the MP3 p...

Thoughts On New Comp for COR Sales People

Just wondering on what peoples thoughts are for the new Comp. I was a former blue employee that left the company in Sept. and came back in Jan. and saw the new comp structure.

When they first changed it to an opp based structure I thought it was going to be decent because they said it was based on total opps but they later changed that because it was affecting managements checks. They said we still needed to hit a gross add quota plus opp quota which basically meant they raised the upgrade requirements and paid out less. The feature part was nice because it paid 25% more but you had to sell more to break even at the end of the month.

Now they are paying out less on upgrades/new activations as well as paying out less on features...

Can Outlook Sync With "Regular" Phones?

Is it possible to sync Outlook to "regular" phones like the LG CU500, Razr v3xx, or Samsung Sync? I need to be able to sync my calendar, contacts, and e-mail, but don't really want to carry the bulkier smartphones.

Downloading Games, Need Clarification Please

I don't understand how games, graphics, and ringtones work exactly.

What I would like to be able to do is download games, graphics, and ringtones to my computer, then transfer them to my phone to avoid paying for the download on a $.03 per kilobyte charge (if I select Cingular).

I have been browsing the Cingular website, and it seems as though the only way to get the content to your phone is to download them wirelessly through your phone. Amazingly, they don't even state how large of a file the game is, but clearly state that you will be billed according to the file size and your plan.

I have a broadband connection, that I pay a monthly charge for, that is perfectly capable of downloading any and all content from the internet. There...
