I have a moto that is out of contract and every Cingular corporate store in town refuses to provide me with the unlock code for the device. What exactly is Cingular's policy on phone unlocking and where can I find a hard copy of this policy? I know the policy at T-mobile is 90 days, and I thought Cingular's was once the phone is out of contract or, if bought a full retail price, immediately. I just don’t understand why Cingular reps give me a puzzled look and act like I'm asking for a hit man when I ask for these codes. All I ever hear is "No, Cingular doesn’t give unlock codes. Do it yourself" ☹️ . I know knowledgeable reps exist, so please guide me to a hardcopy of this policy. I need some evidence for my next battle at my Cingular co...

I just noticed that my phone has some dust under the screen. has anybody else noticed this? it's not that bad, considering that my phone is always in my pocket. it's just you'd think that on this day and age phones wouldn't have this problem...

Does cingular data service works while the phone is roaming? and is sprint data service faster than sprint. looking to switch and doing some research. i live in Baltimore.

i am now eligible for upgrade. i hate doing 2 year contracts. i called cingular and asked how much the krzr would cost on a one year. they told me it would be $329.99 then i called the store around the block from my house, they said $250. That is a lot of money for me to spend just to have a one year. so i called around and best buy has it for $129 on a two year. that is a lot better for me, but idk if i want the phone for two years.

so basically what i am asking is, would i get bored of the krzr after a while if i signed up for two year? or should i just wait for the price to drop on the one year? thanks.

my problem .... i have found a way to build quite a collection of unique FREE ringtones (sound effects, script lines from movies, commercials, etc ) for my phone using various Wav file sites, then converting them for my phone (long story). now i have a family member in another city who has Cingular service, (Moto V551 phone), and i am trying to figure out how i can send (?) quite a few of my tones to him. does the V551 have a Transflash card ?

what type of file extension (i.e. .mp3, .mid, etc.) does it use for ringtones ?

I have been getting a lot of dropped calls in the Chicago area. I thought maybe it was my phone and was going to bring it back. But right before that, I was telling the story to my friend and they were having the same problem with a different phone. So I called a couple more friends with Cingular and they all had the same problems as well. When I say a lot of dropped calls, I mean from 4-10 a day. Its terrible. We have never had this problem until the last month. Anyone else with the same problems?

I currently have a moto V551. My contract is up and I am just paying month to month. I want to buy a new, unlocked RAZR V6 maxx online, but I know the SIM card I have can't take advantage of the 3G capabilities of this phone.

So how do I get a new, updated SIM card through "the new at&t" with my current phone number and info on it, that I can put in my new maxx?

Why can't I download this Java application on my w810i? I've had it on all my phones... Even on my recently passed w600i 😢 I did I Media Net search and it came up, but when I tried to d-load it it said that the applications is not supported by the type of phone I got. WTH? I know the phone is not crippled (a la T-Mobile) cuz I have Opera Mini on it and it works wonderfully.

I have a 6102 Nokia and the volume button will not work, its at almost the lowest volume and no way to turn up. I cannot hear hardly anything, but can see the volume almost to the bottom of the gauge.

Secondly, frequently the phone whites out - or blacks out and freezes up. Nothing to indicate why. The phone is about 16 months old. Would these be covered under the insurance for a replacement?
