Sony Ericsson W810i

I was wondering if anyone had any information on this phone at all (release, carrier/s, price). It's listed on the Sony Ericsson site as coming soon but I'm not sure when that was posted. I'm going in be in the market for a new phone soon and I love my T637. I'm assuming Cingular will carry it since it's the 'i' version.

Switching from Nexthell....

in the next few days and putting 5 phones on the family plan. I can't wait if you really want to know.

Anyway, I'm looking for those with actual experiences with the Cingular 2125 and how well it performs. I'm pretty familiar with the Window's mobile applications and just curious on how well the phone works in the field on the RF side of the house.

Thanks in advance...

Mark

How do I change the content on the Media Net Ticker?

I just got the v557 and would like to change the content that scrolls across the screen. In particular I would like to add weather. I don't want to do it from the phone because I don't want to incure web charges. When I go to the ticker content page on the cingular website, the only one I can click on and add is the traffic info. Can anyone give me a dummy guide on how to add weather?

New commercial.

I just saw one of Cingular's new commercials boasting their fewest dropped calls claim. It's actually a brilliant concept, the way they did it.

I tried to find a link to it online but--no luck. It's good though.

Warranty on my Audiovox 5600 gets me the new 2150....???

A little under two months ago I needed to have my Audiovox 5600 replaced by Cingular under the 1 year warranty. They said they no longer carry the 5600 and would have to give me the 2125 (wasn't complaining after hearing that news!). Sadly I received the 5600 in the mail and figured they still had a few leftover. Does anyone have any clue how much longer they'll have the 5600 in stock??? I know I'd be cheating the system by faking a problem but the reception in my area is HORRIBLE and I would rather not pay for the 2125 which has better reception to my knowledge.

I figure the 5600 has been discontinued for about 4 months now...how much longer must I wait for this phone??? Any insider knowledge would be very helpful, thanks.

The Annoying Buzz.. Old topic, sore subject

How does cingular sell phones with this annoying problem...

I can't believe their is not a sticky on this forum.... Had I know about this... I would have passed on cingular or any GSM carrier..

When I do a search their is not a lot of people complaining about the buzz a cingular/gsm phones make

When my wife and I first got our phones I thought a land line phone at a clients site had gone bad. When I realized it was my phone causing the noise I was embarrassed to tell anyone.

You probably won't notice the noise as much if you don't use a Data phone like a smartphone.

When I am trying to connect to the internet or checking my email the buzz is pretty noticeable. It's even worse when I use the phone to connect to the inter...

Am I supposed to care about this?

When you have all these people talking about how Verizon and Tmobile are better than Cingular...are we meant to care? Because you know what, my phone gets service...EVERYWHERE i go with cingular. So that phone that this website and that magazine says that carrier X is better than cingular. My phone still works everywhere i need it to, and thats what matters.

Lowering the bar. . .

So, Cingular's b2b depts. pull in just over 50% of the profit for the whole company, even though it's only about 20% of the customer base. These are the huge companies, end users for corporate lines, employees with sponsorship discounts, and the like. Until now, AT&T/Cingular has had a live help desk for reps who deal with this customer/end user base. Have a question about a discounting issue? Call the Resolutions Desk! Customer is upset & wants to speak to a manager but one isn't available? Call the Resolutions Desk! Got a general question that no one seems to know the answer to? Chances are, someone at Resolutions will know what to do.

This WAS a highly specialized group of teams that handled all the difficult issues that regular ...

MediaNet vs Data Pkg and Bluetooth DUN

I posted this on the 6682 forum but there are not many people checking that form recently so I'm hoping someone over here can help.

OK Guys and Gals. I'm at a loss.
I have read every thread on the DUN fearture on the Nokia 6682 and I still can't get it to work.

I have tried the [email protected] and [email protected]. I have tried the *99***1# and *99*1. I have downloaded different modem strings. I have tried every combination of all of the above and more and I still can't get it to work.

When I call Cingular they tell me that I need to have a Data plan. Right now I have Unlimited MediaNet. I have a friend that has an s710a with a MediaNet plan and he is able to use his phone thru bluetooth as a modem.

Please tell me I'm n...

For Anxiovert Only

(This was originally posted in the VZW forum yesterday as a response to the trolling activites of Anxiovert)

Hey Anxiovert - I'm a Cingular customer about to leave Cingular for VZW. You know why Cingular sucks? They would rather sign up new customers than save the ones they have, like me. The service is awful. The customer service is horrible (CSRs like yourself). I made the biggest mistake by leaving VZW for Cingular because I liked the idea of "rollover."

I've never worked for any wireless company, so I don't understand everything about these companies. However, why does Cingular offer rollover, early night & weekends, free phones, etc - and VZW doesn't?? Is it because they have to do this? Is it because they are trying to compensat...

I find it extremely odd...

...that Cingular was rated a TWO dot rating in all regions of the JD Power survey this year when just last year they were ONE POINT from #1 (they had a five dot rating just as Verizon and T-Mobile) in the northeast region. They had mostly fours and threes throughout the rest of the regions.

Now explain to me how network quality can have dropped so dramatically in less than a year.

Sounds like disgruntled AT&T customers who are missing their minutes to me.

I live in Pittsburgh and I will tell you that Cingular has made dramatic improvements in the old AT&T network. No degradation there.

JD Power surveys are bogus...it's truly unbelievable.

SLVR Memory

I posted this on the SLVR forum, but no one responded...

Has anyone been able to get a 1GB micro-SD card to work in the SLVR? Or is a 512mb the only one that can work?

I'm contemplating purchasing this phone, because it's so small, and as much as I ADORE my 6682, I just don't feel like carrying it every day.

If the SLVR can store 1GB like my 6682 can, I'm certainly going to purchase it.

Aloha! Cingular Recognized as 'Best Network' on Islands of Hawaii, Oahu

Much of Hawaii now joins the growing list of markets where Cingular operates the "Best Network" among wireless carriers.
Drive testing by Telephia, a leading independent research and advisory firm, recently confirmed that Cingular's network on the islands of Hawaii and Oahu has fewer dropped calls than any other provider.
Ed Maruyama, Director of Sales – Hawaii, said that being the best is a good feeling.
"I'm proud of Cingular and proud of all our employees who helped to make this happen," he said. "Now our customers all over Oahu and the Big Island can know they have the best, most reliable wireless service on the island."
The market recently launched an ad campaign promoting the findings.
In 2005, Cingular invested more than $20 mill...

"was" thinking about switching to cingular

But, I guess it true about the bad customer service from cingular. Even the people in this forum are somewhat un-helpful and rude. Ive been frequenting this forum to see how the cingular people like their phones and service. Based on this forum I think I may be better off staying with Alltel.
