Cingular Lovers...Help?

I would like to know why should I choose ? I live in San Diego. Why should I choose them over Verizon or Nextel...which are the 2 that I am debating between...? Any help with which carrier to choose would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Also, I think you should know that I do not travel a lot, none at best/ So having network all over is really not a big deal. I do like to txt alot..but not to a lot of cingular users, if that matters. So anyone want to help...?

Thanks so much,
Matt

So much for consistancy

I'm in a call center for the pre-merger ( ATTWS)customers. It's general care, so we get calls from every other department. I could not believe the conversation I had with a rep from the post-merger Cingular 'orange' side. She was trying to help a customer upgrade his service, but keep his existing phone. The customer was a TDMA customer, and when I inquired about the phone, I was told it was a Nokia 2260. I tried to explain to the rep that phone could not possibly be used to upgrade. 1, it's a different technology ( TDMA, not GSM) , and 2, was created to work with ATTWS network, not Cingular's. The rep said that was fine, she just needed to add on a GAIT feature.

Anyone see something wrong with this?

GAIT is a separate type of p...

Brand new Motorola Razr V3 + Hot Tub = Repair? or need a replacement?

😲 My daughter dropped her new Razr in a hot tub for a second or two. After some drying out time (close to two weeks) screen and everything looks perfect, but it will not ring, it will only vibrate. Other problem is that it runs the battery down quickly and is warm to touch. 😳 Any advice?
Also: any ideas where can I get a replacement phone for her without purchasing a service plan and spending too much money? 🙄
It would be nice if someone out there had a phone they no longer needed...It's hard to know who to trust on ebay.

Hello Cingular! A First Aid Kit to the New Users

The purpose of this post is not to draw pity rather it is a recount of my still going torture quest of “just activating my “fricking” phone”. No, no… do not take me wrong there were no complicated issues such as transferring my old phone number to Cingular or anything of this kind. No! I was starting anew. Like no cell phones before. Ever. Cingular was my first experience with cell companies… EVER. So you can perhaps understand the following predicament that I was faced with: (keep a close watch of the dates, it gets funnier as it goes... Oh… and I will give a courtesy of Cingular Customer Service employees and will change their names):
10 Feb - I order my super sweet Family Plan and my equally sweet Nokia phones (It is a Valentine’s gift...

I have to admit......

that Cingular have made some improvements in some key areas, but still have some way to go. I used to work for ATTWS/Cingular so I noticed the changes. First, the signal in the NY Tri-state area has made a tremendous turnaround since the merger. My friends and I finally agree its rare that we drop calls or receive signal strength below four bars. Secondly, the CS has improved because they have started to follow up on mistakes so I don't have to call. When I do call the issues do get resolved now. Although the data side is lagging behind some Verizon and Sprint as far as broadband, the revenue seems to be consistent and I think they should take their time get it right when its fully deployed. The ad campaign seems to be unmatched at the mome...

Help from someone who works with Cingular..Please!!

😢 Ok so I got a phone from walmart the other day in Florida and love the phone hate that I cannor use my phone in Nevada. I am not in town right now and only have 3 days to cancel. But I am no where near where I got it and I won't be home for another week. I left right after I got it. See this is the thing that makes no sense they told me I had to bring it back to the Walmart I got it from. But the reason I got it at Walmart is because I wanted to be able to deal with someone all over the usa. I travel all the time for my new job and it is mandatory that I have the phone. What should I do. Is there any way to cancel with out bringing the phone back till next week? If not I will have to pay the fee to for activation. I don't know. I feel ...

8125 or IPaq

Hey all--

I'm considering getting either the Cingular 8125 or the IPAQ 6515. If anybody has any recommendations I'd appreciate it. I'm specifically interested in signal strength, application performance of the software on the phone, and overall usability. Thanks!

UMTS Phones launching anytime soon?

Here on Phonescoop, the Samsung zx10 and LG cu320 are listed as the planned availability of February, so do any reps know if we might see these phones anytime soon?

We are in need of better higher end type phones and high speed data services, and these two new UMTS models are a start.

For the year of 2005 for Cingular

They ended the year 2005 being in first place with 54.1 million subscribers and they signed up a total net adds of 5.06 million subscribers for the year of 2005. (this net add total was in 3rd place behind sprint and behind verizon)

Should be an interesting 2006 and a great job for the wireless industry as a whole in 2005.

Cingular, RAZR, Bluetooth and my Palm Zire 72

Greetings!

I need some help. I'm currently with Verizon and I'm bailing because they don't offer a bluetooth profile on the new RAZR that supports a connection to the net via my Palm Zire 72.

I'm wondering if any of you wonderful souls can assist me in my quest to find a new carrier that allows me to utilize these devices together.

Basically, what I want to do is use my Palm Zire 72 - via Bluetooth - to make a connnection to the Moto RAZR which will then simply make a connection to net - hopefully utilizing just my regular minutes - without incurring any additional data charges. I'm doing this now with Verizon, but alas, their new RAZR's Bluetooth profile only support the very lame option of using a headset.

Please help if you ...
