Ok, so my phone dropped in the toilet.. will insurance accept the claim?

Hi Everyone. I dropped my cell phone in the toilet lol yeah.. it was an accident. I have insurance on the phone, but if I call insurance will they accept my claim or do they not cover liquid damage. Thanks. Also, the phone that I dropped was a Samsung X497, with my sim card in it, but the phone I had insurance on first was a Motorola V220. I added a line to my family plan, gave the V220 to my son, and used the X497 for me. Which phone would be covered? And if it is the v220 that is insured, would they give me a v220, or since it's discontinued theyd give me the next best thing? Thanks for the help!!!

Can you use a Sidekick/HipTop on Cingular?

i was under the impression that as long as you got an unlocked phone, or got an unlock code you could use a GSM handset on any GSM provider. my friend was looking into getting one and someone in Cingular Customer Care told him that he could use the voice, but not the data because the "imaging" was different. i know Care used to tell customers the same thing when we had the RAZR and T-Mobil didn't and then the story changed as soon as they got it as well.

i just don't want him to buy a phone that he can't use. any ideas for a proper replacement?

xoxo

The game has changed

the program is called the Customer Rules and is a simple set of guild lines designed to take care of the customer with a regard to operations. Store Managers also can make decisions based on the individual situation. In a nut shell if it makes sense for the customer then get it done.

It has nothing to do with your credit limit or Telegence/CARE/POS II/OPUS or any other system access. If you cant do it, your manager will, if they cant their manager will. However, you own that customer and you will make it happen, regardless of what needs to be done behind the scenes. If it makes sense. Take care of the customer.

This has nothing to do with AT&T brass as someone pointed out. This is issued directly from Stan Sigman and is being done to...

SLVR and Walmart?

Has anyone else bought their SLVR L7 from WalMart? I know that ant1171984 bought one, but I haven't found the phone in my local Wal Mart. Has anyone even seen the SLVR in their local Wal Marts? Also, I don't really care about being right or not about buying from Wal Mart. I'm going to get mine from them anyways. Even if it means feeding the "Corporate Machine" so please save those arguments (either for or against) for another thread.

Thanks

um, like were we not supposed to sproting our spiffy new 3G UMTS/HSDPA handsets by now?

Like, WTF? There is *no* mention of 3G on Cingulars web site, there is no info on this site, engadget mobile, which seems to taking the place of phone scoop has at least a little info, but its almost March. I thought February? I live in Los Angeles, so I am thinking this can not be a market that would not be at least in the initial roll out.

Any ideas? What it the holdup?

They are building a cell tower on top of my building (literally) in the West side of L.A. & I was talking to the engineers. What they told me was that Cingular is wayyyyy backed up on the UMTS side of things, that they are having software / hardware integration issues & that this brand new, state of the art tower they are putting up will be EDGE only. It is a "super t...

SE Z520 for free and $10 back

Cingular.com currently has the SE Z520 discounted to an online price of $39.99. After the $50 rebate, found at:

http://onlinestorez.cingular.com/cell-phone-service/ ... »

the phone is free with $10 in your pocket.
Nice phone for that price.

Not sure if all markets can get that price.

Will QTek 8310 Work With Cingular?

This is the Faraday 2125, basically, but with a larger keypad and 802.11. Since I've never purchased unlocked phones and acquired service after, can someone tell me if (a) I can do this, and (b) if it's complicated.

Thanks in advance for your consideration.

upgrade to razr v3 but failed .... bye cingular.. hello tmobile.

I've been with cingular for 8 years now. I've been out of contract for a few months now and recently lost one of my phone. Lockline wants $50 deductable to replace my old samsung phone as usual and so I decided to upgrade my phone to razr and sign another 2 year contract. But before I had a chance to call, my friend told me I can get 2 razr for FREE (no rebates) on family plan with a Tmobile agent store with activation fees wavied. I called cingular.. talked with the retention department.. told them about my situation and after a long long hour of talking witht he rep.. she offered me 2 razr for $120 + tax each with $50 credit on each line for a total of $100.. so basically $85 each including tax and shipping. I was extremly dissapointe...

Upgrade Rules Quirkiness

Like all cell companies, Cingular has "rules" you have to follow to upgrade your phone before your contract ends. However, in the last week or so, I've encountered the two quirks in the system. And to be honest, they both suck.

Quirk #1: The Exception Upgrade
You can technically upgrade at any time. The downside is you can ONLY take on a 2 year contract. As I'm in the middle of my 2 year from the ATT migration, I can honestly say I will never do a 2 year agreement ever again (phone hardware is not designed to last much more than a year).

Quirk #2: The $75 Rule
This is the one that really hacked me off, and actually, the story behind it is why I found all this out.

My Fiance and I were at Wal-Mart. She and I both are under 2 y...

Cingular Furniture

Attention fellow Cingular Agent reps:

I am in the process of opening my 2nd Cingular location and I was wondering if any of you have any stores that have closed or an agent principal that would have a warehouse full of Cingular fixtures.

I know most premier agents are switching to "work station" set up, so many of you may be rebuilding out your stores. I would rather not purchase this set-up from Midwest Virtual.

I will pay cash and pick it up if need be. My first store's furniture came from a location in North Richland Hills. I am in the Dallas Market. If you have any leads feel free to PM me, or call me at 469.955.5555. Yes that is my real number,

Thank you for your help.

8125 service question

What will you have to have to get the internet on the phone? Is there some sort of data plan you have to pay for extra? If so, how much and what is the best one to use?

To have this phone at full function, what do you need to add service wise?
