PTT code provisioned

I was just messin around in POS.com and noticed that the Unlimited PTT code has been provisioned and placed in the system. It's provisioned as a $9.99 monthly charge.

This would suggest to me that they're on track with the launch dates they've provided us for later this year.

questions switching from AT&T to Cingular

I’m an AT&T customer and my contract is about to expire. My reception is horrible. Calls drop all the time and my phone shuts off, then turns back on. My AT&T phone is a Panasonic GU87 (you can stop laughing now). I hate the phone, but it was the only flip camera phone at the time and this has only been an issue for the last 5 months! I also have a Nokia 3200 (has broken 3 times in the last 18 month) and Samsung phone (not sure of the model). I’m thinking of rolling into a Cingular plan.

I have a few questions:

Will I be able to transfer numbers saved to my sim card to the new phone without doing it manually?!

Will I be able to take my downloaded rings to my new Cingular phone?

Is there a site you guys go on to check r...

Cingular in Pittsburgh

After 11 years as a loyal Verizon customer (going back to Bell Atlantc Mobile) their customer service is forcing me to seek divorce. How is Cingular coverage in the Burgh. Interested to know details of SW PA in general and Western Suburbs/Airport Area in particular.

Any help would be appreciated!

Handset insurance

Good morning everyone. I lost a handset this past friday due to a burglary of my apartment. It was a silver Razr v3. Gone. I have a black Razr v3 and want to insure it. Just got off the phone with Cingular business care and they will not insure it. A phone of this value was insured with the former AT&T (I really miss their customer-friendly policies): a v600 which at launch cost $199 (same price for black Razr) and I was able to insure it after 7 days. My question: is there anyone here with knowlege on how to insure this handset outside of Cingular? I find it amazing that they break their neck to seel you this phone but offer you know way or information on how to insure it. Any help is greatly apppreciated and thanks in advance for your help...

recommendations for phone

I'm a current Cingular customer using a motorola v600. I and many in my circles are very unhappy with the phone. This is the second one most of us have had and their performance is poor. Poor reception quality, poor speakers, various problems.

My question is what would everyone say is the best choice now of phones that cingular offers that has basic camera and bluetooth cabilities. Features on the Motorola have been fine if it just worked better.

Ringtone choices...a lack there of!

I have been a customer with Cingular for the past two years. I've been very pleased with the service so far, BUT...I STILL HAVE NOT SEEN ANY HARRY POTTER RINGTONE!!! WHY? Book 6 "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has been VERY successful in sales EVEN WAY BEFORE it's release on midnight of July 16th, and is continuing to break records and also with the upcoming November 18th release of the 4th film "Goblet of Fire", and beginning in early January book 5 ,"The Order of the Phoenix", will commence filming...THE COMPANY'S DEVELOPERS HAVE STILL HAVE NOT SET UP A RINGTONE FOR CUSTOMERS TO DOWNLOAD???

I have had no luck to find an alternitive website that has compatiable software apart from yours that even accomidates my present LG4010 ph...

Good Cingular CS experience

I have for a long time seen the posts bashing Cingular CS on this site and now I had to actually use it. I had some software issues with my phone and it was still under warranty so I called the warranty line. I had all my info including IMEI # and such ready and after a short (5min.) wait, they were helpful and are now mailing me a replacement. Easy. New phone and I don't have to pay for shipping or am I inconvenienced by having to send my phone to them first. Good job!
My guess most people who complain don't have all the info they need ready or don't understand how to convey their problem well to the staff, but what do I know.

Good basic phone

I'm contemplating switching over from Nextel and the selection of phones from Cingular is a bit confusing. I don't really need bells and whistles, I just need to talk on the phone and get the best signal possible. I'd also like the phone to be as compact as possible (for sticking in a pocket) without being so small as to be unusable.

Definition of Customer Service

Posted this in Shop Talk forum but that forum is dead, so here goes:

As of late, the entire paradigm of Cingular has shifted with regards to billing and crediting charges. Before this shift, if you went over your minutes, got charged for roaming/long distance, and disputing your final bill after porting out, customers would call in and we (CSRs) would tell them, too bad, pay your bill, etc. Even when a customer has escalated a call to a higher-up, they would defend our decision and quote policy to the customer explaining why the charges are valid.

Fast forward to today now. Cingular's customer service has been "branded" the worst in the industry from every which way imaginable. Now, the primary reason why customers complain about a w...

While at my Cingular store.......

I decided to post here instead of Howards place since more reps watch this site. My belt clip broke, so I went to get another. Although I was first in the waiting line, the store personnel were busy with other customers. Then things got interesting.

The store manager and an obvious new hire trainee were helping the customers. I recognized neither person from 3 prior visits. Anyway, the customer the manager was helping was purchasing a two year plan and getting a Samsung model. The manager was reading the paperwork and then asked the customer for a driver’s license. The customer said he didn’t have one. The manager then asked the customer for a credit card. The customer said he didn’t have one, but pulled out a wad of cash and offered to ...

The Shady Tree

Tell ya what kiddies.....
This whole deal with reps from all departments saying just about anything to get a sale.....or to get off the phone. Ohhhh a free v3 razr black huh? strange never heard of such a thing without selling your soul to the big man in flames. Who knew that there were some shady ass reps selling free high end phones, free yearly subscriptions, free priority, free.....what have you. Its a plague on my conversion. (number of calls/number of sales)
It seems that when the preverbial representative was being trained or "born" by our fantastic training program, they got dropped on their little 4 IQ/lazy eyed/3 toothed head. Retardation is common when consuming alcohol during pregnancy. I wouldnt mind hunting down these little ...

Cingular PTT and v540

Just spoke with a Cingular rep about the V540. She said it would be available when the Cingular PTT service is introduced on October 15.

So, if I get one phone now, and then a v540 in october, will I be able to get the current $59 famliy plan, or will I have to go up to the new $69 one?
