Hi Guys < Cingular question please

I understand from time to time with all carriers there are billing problems. I’m thinking about joining Cingular and getting signed up for their 900minutes for 59.99. My simple question is even though every carrier has it share of problems, should I be a little more nervous of over charges going to Cingular. I really need some solid input here guys. Why is Cingular getting such a bad rap for over charging? Please tell your experience with your provider. And also with the 59.99 plan with taxes and charges what can I aspect to pay each month.

I’m new to this phone site and trying to learn what’s best for me to do.

Thanks for everyone who inputs.

Is it MYSIM Card or MY Phone

Current location Johnson City, Tennessee [zip 37604]. Current phone Motorola V551. July 29th-August 7th I was on vacation down in Florida. Areas I traveled while in Florida was DeLand [zip 32720], Orlando [zip 32805], and New Smyrna Beach [zip 32168]

Before I leaving for Florida, I had great coverage in my apartment here in Johnson City, TN. When I arrived in Florida, I also had great coverage down there. My phone signal stayed at 5 bars the whole time. No dropped calls whatsoever. Upon returning to Tennessee on Aug. 7th, I have had numerous dropped calls and a very very weak signal on my phone.

I called customer service on Wed. (8/10) and the nice rep had me turn my phone off and take out my battery and SIM card for 5 minutes while sh...

Online Retailers - worth a try?

What is the scoop on online retailers like WireFly and LetsTalk? Are there any hidden pitfalls that I should know about? I know the rebate process is a pain, but even without that, their prices are better than cingular online.

My main problem with Wirefly is that I can't seem to choose two different phones on a family plan, but are there any other issues to be aware of?

Nokia 6620 connecting to Juno.com ?

I just returned that masterpiece of confusion named Audiovox SMT 5600 and got the Nokia 6620.

I have figured out most things on the Nokia except how to connect to the internet without going through the "MEdia Net" system installed on the phone.

I can compose and send email using the MEdia Net system but I can't figure out how to download my mail from Juno.com. πŸ™„

AND .. the phone can supposedly be used as a modem when connected to a laptop... I can't figure that out either πŸ‘Ώ

ALSO .. does anyone know if it is possible to delete those silly little games that came installed in the phone ?? 😈 😈

Thanks,
John

DC Area

Anyone have experience with the DC area in terms of GSM coverage? I am actually in Northern VA and have a t-mobile phone but it will only show me the AT&T 1900 signals. In addition, it won't show me the strength of the signal as I am not a GSM customer.

Is 850 in this area as well? Is the coverage decent outside of DC?

Thanks,
Mark

subsidy unlock codes

i have found out what the deal is with this, only in certain circumstances will a company offer this cingular will offer this and than a rep will have to fill out a request for it to be done and go through a tech level who will call customer up if they feel should be done to get phone unlcoked

if the phone is
out of contract
going to another company
purchased at full retail price

some of the ways we can unlock a phone

GSM 1900/850 in Chicago with Sony K750

I am looking at getting the Sony Ericsson K750i but I'm slightly worried about coverage since it is a GSM 900/1800/1900 phone.

Does anyone know how much of Chicago and the sorrounding areas rely solely on 850 with no 1900, is there any move to phase out one band in preference of the other?

I plan to hang onto my Moto V600 (the POS it is) for if I'm traveling and need an 850 but I spend most of my time in Chicago and northwest Illinois.

I'm guessing that Cingular is in no rush to get an 850 band K750, W800, or something equivalent to market, but if someone knows otherwise Id be willing to wait.

Huge network upgrade/expansion for Cingular!

Wow.

http://cingular.mediaroom.com/index.php?s=press_rele ... »

They are going to drop more than $6 billion on the network before the end of 2005. 😳

1 billion in California alone. They're adding 730 new cell sites in the state.

Other expansion include:
Indiana
Georgia
NY/NJ
Tennessee
Kentucky
Oklahoma
Arkansas
Philadelphia
Texas
North and South Carolina

Cingular is claiming they will have 40,000 cell sites by the end of 2005. 😳 Definately keeping the promise of the 'Allover Network'.

If I'm not mistaken, this is part of the GSM/EDGE expansion that they contracted Nokia to do. The articles specifically said GSM/EDGE so this doesn't even include the 15-20 cities that will have UMTS/HS by the end of 200...

SIM cards "Non Orderable"?!

Anyone getting the error "Non Orderable" when they try to order a customer a SIM card (on the blue side)? I have asked a few reps about this, and no one is sure if it means we're completely depleted our stock, on backorder, or if it's some weird system error.
I'm not really sure what to tell customers because I myself don't know what's happening here! I have to tell them "I'm sorry, but we seem to be out of stock of SIM cards, can you check back in a week or so to see if we have more, or possibly try and order one online?"
I had an escalation over this, but no one seems to know what's happening. It seems like everyday we are given less and less to work with.

I upgraded to the Samsung p207 over the internet on Saturday. When i go to track the order it says that the order is In Progress. Its been like that since Saturday. Wanted to know how long does it usually take ship a phone? Also i clicked no when it asks if i need another SIM card and it has that I ordered one. Is this going to be a back up SIM card or am i paying for another one?

In comes the client... (Cingular)

So you can tell the client is arriving to the Halifax center tommorow. Things are actually being dusted, cleaned, and tidied for the first time since the client visited us last. It is funny that they only care about things that are important like cleanliness when they know somebody important is coming to the centre. Balloons are being put up and streamers too.I guarantee there will be extra floor support tommorow, everybody will be dressed up like it is normal and our supervisors will be monitoring 2x as many calls.

Radio Shack employee plans for cingular...?

I work at a Radio Shack in Michigan and with the announcement of not carrying Verizon anymore we are going to start carrying cingular I was wondering what the employee plans were for them if anyone here knows and also how they're credit checks were. If they were difficult because Verizon is kinda strict I have them and love it but alot of people come back with a 400$ deposit so if someone could answer my questions i would appreciate it thanks.
