entering phone numbers

sorry for asking so many questions, but I had another one.

specifically for the s710, when entering phone numbers in the address book, I know that there is a "p" for having about a 2 second pause before sending the next numbers and stuff, but is there a way to have a total pause? Like, with my old phone, I could put in a 'p' or a 'w'. The 'w' would wait for me to press the designated key to send the next line of key presses.

Thanks for any help that anyone has!

Phone upgrade question - existing Cingular customer

My friend is thinking about upgrading from a Motorola V400 to the RAZR. She is out of contract with Cingular and has been a customer with them for a number of years. The account is current and she pays her bills on time.

The question is are there any additional discounts or rebates that she can get for being an existing customer with a good account history?

The store wants $200 for this phone with a 2 year contract.

I would appreciate any suggestions.

Switching over from T-mobile to Cingular

I'm preparing to switch over from T-mobile to Cingular. I'm in a sort of weird position as I would like to come on without signing a contract. Both my wife and I are bringing our unlocked phones with us. She has a Moto V600, that is T-mobile branded, but has since been unlocked.

Here is the rub, in my conversations with Cingular reps, I get conflicting reports. One says that they are unable to bring the V600 on, because it is not in their system, the other says that it is no problem as they just take my word that it is unlocked, and it is my responsibility to make it work (which is fine). Does anyone have any experience bringing unlocked phones onto the network? Further, any experience making things like web browsing, txt and pict...

Nokia phone reports "Roaming"

Hello. I have, in addition to my normal Cingular phone, a Nokia 5190 I keep for backup purposes. It's been unlocked (which I verified), but strangely whenever I put my SIM in, it finds the signal but tells me I'm roaming. From what I gather, I'm connected to AT&T (US 3😎 and Cingular doesn't seem to be billing me for roaming, but the message still appears. I've also connected my T300 from T-Mobile using the same SIM and get no message at all. Has anybody seen anything similar before? Thanks!

Does Cingular provide 2 lines on one phone?

Hi all:

I'm trying to figure out how I can keep two lines - 1 for personal use and the 2nd for business use.

I have a Nokia 6620, and the manual says the phone supports 2 lines, if the feature is enabled on the SIM. So, ideally, I'd like to sign up for two accounts, with 2 numbers, and get a SIM that supports both numbers.

The plan would be to have my employer pay for one line, and have a personal plan for the other.

Question: Does Cingular allow these dual-line SIMs? If so, how do I convince them to give me one?

Thanks for the help.

Direct Numbers?

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has posted or knows a list of Cingular's Customer Service number...specifically if any direct numbers to help. I just switched from Sprint, and I had all the direct numbers for Sprint CS so I didn't have to wait in queue. I was just wondering if anyone knows/has these numbers for Cingular.

Thanks!

Cingular Price Match?

I have been quoted a much better price on a phone with 2 yr plan that what the regular Cingular store is offering me. If I can show proof of the offer/phone with a 2 yr contract, is a Cingular store able to match the price for the exact same phone and term? (I am ending my ATT commitment and going to straight Cingular, My ATT commitment ends Dec 31, but I am willing to agree to another 2 years with the new phone.) Can a Cingular store match that?

Best Approach

I am currently a TDMA customer and am wondering what the best approach is for me. My contract ends on August 9th and my service is really becoming unusable in my area. I am not sure what happened, but I get Analog Roam a lot and if I move (i.e. in a car), my signal will go from good to poor to dropped and then I'll get full strength again. It is as if I can't switch between towers easily.

Ironically, I got a flyer in the mail about how my service in my area is "better then ever." Greater coverage, fewer dropped calls, clearer call quality. All of which I lost, so I assume the flyer is for the GSM service

So my question is how should I handle the switch as I have 650 bonus minutes and free incoming text messages. All that I lose...

GOPHONE ACTIVATION QUESTION

Quick question for anyone that handles the pick your plans. I work in retail and i've come across where i will activate an account in the store and it shows up fine in our systems (care, opus, and pos.com) however when i call gophone care (vesta) to setup payments they dont have it in there system and they cant process the payment. this happens a lot and is annoying as hell. is there a way to push it through or a department to call to fix the issue? half the time the customers account wont update and you half to activate another number or the customer will wait a few days get frustrated and return everything.

Cingular question please

I need a real accurate answer please. Only answer if your 100 percent sure. Thanks

Anyway

I have a verizon account that expires in 3 months and I want to port my number to Cingular. The bottom line is I'm a very impatient person and I was wondering if I could get a new account/ number with Cingular and then in 3 months time port my verizon number over. My verizon number is very important to me, that being the reason for accurate answers only. Thanks guys

Is there a fee? How would this work?
