For all you people reading this, DIGITAL phones, rate plans, and anything that deals with digital, sucks major a**. Get a damn GSM phone, since they are better. Just tried about 20 gazillion times to program a digital phone, and then find out it will not register cause the phone is reading off of a competitors tower. DAMN DIGITAL CRAP.

I've been a loyal customer of this company for many years, and it saddens me to read these threads where the CSR's are calling the customers names and making fun of some of their questions. If you all would spend more time helping and informing customers then your company wouldn't have so many comlaints filed against it. By the way I thought this forum was suppose to help do just that. If it wasn't for us CUSTOMERS many of you all wouldn't have a job. That's just my $.2

The announcement came that Verizon has expanded their broadband wireless service to now include over 40 markets. Where and when can Cingular customers benefit from any mobile broadband services?

We are left in the dark right now for broadband. Is there any sign of higher data speeds in the near future for Cingular?

answer me this consumers what is the different if we vent on here when the customer vents to us over the phone...

are only customer allowed to vent problems..

*bing!* goes the whats-its-jigger on my head, and lady starts talking. Blah blah blah cancel my service, so on. Ask her for her wireless number, it didn't pull up. She corrected, still no. Went to the computer, where she was logged into OCS, and came back and reported the number as being exactly as she said in the first place EXCEPT......all the 3's she said were 4s, and vice versa

One of the managers is having me do his work again, and i'm having a hard time finding what i need in CSP...

I'm trying to find the Cingular Sounds Song List from CSP, and I can't find it for the life of me...can someone help me? Its for that poster with the slide in sheet holder to show customers what ringtones are currently out or some crap like that...i'm pretty sure every other store my owner has just threw it out, but this manager is hellbent on putting every piece of promotional stuff up in his store...

Any opinions on if Cingy will pick this one up? Rumors have it being released between July 4th and July 9th, and the one leaked image I've seen of it looked pretty nice. The update of iTunes 4.9 yesterday also had connectivity information about linking your phone to iTunes.

Does anyone else agree in sales that this thing is a curse? From all the phones i've been selling i have seen nothing like the complaints this thing gets. now that im done ranting does anyone else have any frustration at this phone?

In the last 3 calls I had, one guy wanted a credit on legitimate overage fees because he believes that he, "should not be charged for these calls because they appear one minute after the other, multiple times to the same number."

I'm sorry, phones can do this, it's called you forgot to tell something to someone or the voicemail kicked in and you hung up to try again.

Next call is from a woman who, she states, had a warranty exchange rep tell her the address book from her old phone would transfer from one TDMA phone to her other TDMA phone. Now this might seem plausible but with warranty exchange phones, the battery is not included.

With this in mind, she has to take her battery from her current phone and place it into the new phone...

Yeah so this woman calls in to cancel service with us, going to Verizon. She got a camera flip-phone for $49.99 on a nationwide plan. I told her that she could have gotten a free-camera phone from us and paid half the activation fee too.

Stupid woman, there was time to correct to, it's called buyer's remorse you dumb horse.

GSM VS TDMA
first things first... gsm is a newer service and may not work as well or better than tdma in every single area,
second tdma will not be compatible with gsm
ie tdma phone will not work on gsm
why... tdma phones do not operate off of sim cards
they are not the same service
former att gsm customers.. i know it is going to be confusing.. hearing the we are switching you from gsm to gsm and having to get a new plan and phone sorry its confusing even for us..
reason being.. phones are locked from manufactuers to specific compaines.. cingular and the former att comaines have ...

My mom ordered a V551 from Cingular and it should be arriving in a few days. I started thinking about it, and it has BT, which I sort of want. I have a V400, and I think it's pretty much the same thing.

The thing I'm wondering about is this... If I decide to purchase it on Ebay, can I still have warranty on it? Will I still be able to do the XBM thing and have Cingular help me if there are any problems with it? I'm just wondering if I'll get the same support as if I had bought it through Cingular. I really wouldn't expect it, since in this case, I'm just paying for the service, not the phone, but just wondering what all I'd have coming to me.

I must say I would have this phones babies!!! (JJ but it is a GREAT phone!) Just thought I'd share my love of this fancy new phone.

I just activated a new V551 and it is displaying an icon in the upper left corner that I just can't find in the manual or on the Cing website.

It looks like a letter "E" on top of a red-green stripe, and it persists even after I turned the phone off. What does it mean?
