Total, complete morons

I have yet to quit being astounded at the sheer level of stupidity I witness on a daily basis as a rep. Like today. Guy calls in and says we've charged his credit card multiple times for the GoPhone he ordered. I say ok, and look up his order. Order was just placed 6/23 and there was a cancelled order from 6/21. I advised the customer that those are temporary holds on his credit card and that they will drop off, and in the off chance they don't, that we can definitely help him. He asks me what I'm talking about. So I explain to him how credit card charges work. About how a company sends in an initial "temporary hold" charge, and then the final amount. And how if a "temporary hold" charge never gets a final amount posted, it simply d...

"Let me speak with the President"

I was on the phone with a customer that had issues with the merger, and I as explaining the entire process to her. She was really upset about it although she didn't have to switch yet since her phones were working fine. And she kept yelling and yelling, and telling me about how she has contacted the FCC and all the regional managers. Finally after she badgers me if I'm happy working for such a horriable company, and if I can sleep at night (very well thank you), she asks me to speak with the president. I tell her that I'm not really sure what she means and she wants to know who the president is and how to contact him. I direct her to cingular.com where you can get all the information to e-mail the president, and get her off the phone. Do you...

Cingular geographical issue resolved!!!

Those who are involved with Cingular, either as employees or customers, know of the long standing dispute concerning our nationwide geographical coverage. I wont go into long detail, but I am pleased to inform everyone on this board that this has been resolved.

After careful research and consideration, we at Cingular Wireless have discovered the following:

Alaska and Hawaii are included in the United States.

Canada is not included in the United States, and is therefore a foreign country.

I hope that this clears up any misunderstanding or miscommunication about the coverage area provided by our nationwide plans.

Profanity

OK, I have to admit, reading the threads late at night tends to keep me awake and usually entertained, and I agree with every 'rantin and 'ravin rep out there, but I have a quick question for you all..

Can you not possibly express your emotions without the help of profanity? So many of you take such extreme measures to come up with various alternative spellings for profanity, and all for what? There are customers out there reading this stuff, and while I TOTALLY agree that we have EVERY right to free speach and the ability to get the day to day frustrations off our chests, reducing ourselves to such a level leaves us sitting around with all the cranky customers that think we should give them the world with a few credits attached!

May...

I HATE THIS BUSINESS!!!

I am sick and f-in tired of some of the egotistical, self centered bastards that we have as customers!!!

I was havin a damn fine day this morning until some asshole rolls up in his Range Rover and walks into my store, of course carrying a POS phone. "What brings ya here today?" I ask. To which he replies "we want a new phone". Ok that's fine, so I go find out how long he's had his phone (bout a year) and how long his contract was (2yrs) and then ask for his phone number to look up his account and see if he might possibly be eligible for an exception upgrade (doubt it but ya never know). As soon as the words "wireless number" are out of my mouth the dude starts screamin' like a little child.

"I'm not going thru this stuff with you...

"I want a free phone with out the contract."

She was real winner. Shes been with us for three years! And always paid her invioce on time. Her phone however is broken and she needs a new one. She does not want to pay full price fr it on the other hand. Becuase she is specail or something. Everyone else has to pay for their phones, except her. Anyways so she wants a discounted phone, read free, ok fair enough i can do that. (I have the samsung x427m for $20 after mail rebate, or samsung cp07 for free) Excpet she is so specail that we should give her a phone with out the contract. becuase you know three years is a long time and all, and shes specail.

Hers the thing I should give her the contract becuase her freind has T-mobile and they gave her freind a phone for $20 without ...

Looking for a work around.

OK RSD is a fun job. Really lots of yelling screaming and RAISING THE F*****G BAR. My biggest escalation cause is the contract terms not met. WEST and NORTH EAST markets. It's the FCC's fault, not Cingular's. I understand that customers cant grasp why we don't want to sign them on new contracts and take more money from them. If someone out there has a work around (since apparently now the customer's cant pay full retail in the stores and migrate that way) how can we fix this issue if the phone is broken or otherwise out of warranty or lost/stolen with no insurance because not everyone meets the Blue Upgrade Exceptions. I'm tired of this escalation how can we get around this dumb FCC regulation? I mean I had a customer with over 12 yea...

OMG LMAO I WISH YOU COULD HEAR THIS CALL

Customer calls in disputing overage charges on his bill. I advise him of his overages and that they are valid calls he starts telling me niether phone gets ANY reception wherever he goes.

We change the IMEI number on his account pow cyc his phone and VOILA he has a little better coverage (by the way he was one both of the phones during our convo)

Well that wasn't good enough, he says its not full bars etc etc. I ramble of verbatim statement "sir I do apologize but we cannot guarentee...blah blah blah"

He still continues to dispute, I finally tell him sir, with the amount of overage on your bill you have to have some type of decent coverage.

He threatens to cancel, I adv him of etf, noted account and asked, "sir, I have explai...

Which one do you want?

Just a paragraph from an article i read...

New York Sun

"City Council Aims To Regulate Cellular Antennae"
Under a resolution introduced by a Peter Vallone Jr., hundreds of applications for cellular antennae each year would face increased scrutiny by community boards and the City Council. Cellular companies argue that the more laborious permit process would limit their ability to provide service.

These are the same people who call in and complain about how bad their cell phone service is, whining about dropped calls and bad reception.....grrrr
