My wife and I just migrated over from AT&T, and she absolutely hates her phone. She got a Nokia 6230, and everything about it is fine-- except the multi-directional/select button. She has a hard time pressing it in to select anything, without accidentally hitting one of the directions. I'm thinking about exchanging it for a Moto v551, but I vaguely remember somebody saying something about Cingular coming up with some new phones at the beginning of July. Any specifics available on that?

(btw-i got an s710a, and aside from the inability to use MP3's as SMS alerts, i love every part of it)

"$200.00 is alot of money. You'd think that cingular would be nicer and give me $50 off since I have to sign another 2 yr contract for it and I'm on social assistance. I don't have alot of money so cingular should give me a bigger discount!"



OMFG! Getting a $600 phone for $200 is not good enough.
BTW I don't know about you but in Canada if your on social assistance you can't really AFFORD a $200 bloody cell phone! ...

My Nokia 6230 is supposed to have call restrictions (it's a menu item that lets me do, among other things, program in numbers that will get routed directly to voicemail -- effectively blocked from making my phone ring - it is a phone based feature, not a service based feature according to what I have been told).

The owner's manual (page 30) and the nokia website both indicate the phone has "call restrictions", yet the menu item is missing from my phone. When I check at the Cingualr store, ALL of the nokia GSM phones have their "call restrictions" menu missing.

I called Nokia. Nokia says "Cingular removed it". I called Cingular. Cingular says "we did not remove it". So I call Nokia again. They inists Cingular "removed it". I went ba...

Jeepers! We're drowning here in Alberta! 😳 The river is so high in my area that it's only 4 or 5 feet below the bridges! Whats the point of having a phone to TALK on if all you're going to do it text mess on it? do we all live in a world where "talking" now involves some type of text i.e msn,yahoo or text mess? Are we all so afraid of making someone mad that we must now write down everything proofread it and then and only then will we allow the person that it was ment for to see. What is up with you all? If I have call coming in and I don't pick up my phone and let it go to voice mail, does cingular charge me a minute for letting the call go to voice mail?

I was just on the phone with cust. serv. and their rep was adamant about being charged with time when connected to voice mail. That is just insane. Doesnt make any sense. ahhhhhh

I would like to give a big shout out to all of the customers who have made my day a complete hell. I came in thinking this would be a great day, and right out of the gate I get a person screaming at me that her service has been horrible since Cingular took over AT&T Wireless. I have had nothing but whiners and complainers today. I know Cingular is not perfect, but comeon people, you need to take just a little responsibility for your service.

Cust call in with text problem, can't recv. For some unknown reason, there was a block on incoming text mesg. So I removed it and sent a test message to the cust. And so the cust says "Hey I recved a text message!" He reads it and sees that it's from me, I tell him there was a block and I removed it.

So he asks me, "When can you fix it?"

I know he can hear me, I know he can read the message I sent him, but I guess there's nothing going on. This is "almost" as bad as "How much is the $29.99 plan?"

Oh yeah, they're starting to write up folks for PAR in my center. That will open up a can of worms, because some of those stats are undocumented. And no, having someone "explain" to me a third-hand story does not cut it.

Does anyone know when Motorola is going to update their interface (OS) on their phones? I mean cmon, theyve had the same boring interface since the first edition of the monochrome v60. The only difference between that and lets say the Razr is that its color. Im so bored with it. I had a black Razr but just got bored with it because it was nothing new to me. The Moto line, IMO, would sell alot better if they changed it up a little bit. Any opinions?

I'm moving to Dallas in the next couple of months. I currently have Verizon in NJ, and I'm very pleased with coverage, reception, etc. Can anyone tell me what carrier has the best coverage in the Dallas area and in Texas in general?

ok, i was letting this go sort of but thi this now has to be said. Customers are the reason we have our jobs, whether they are very knowledgable of telecommunication or not, remember that some of us would probly be in the same boat of not understanding if we didnt have the training we do..
HOWEVER customers, if you have a problem, whether it be service, equiptment, billing, or jsut something simple, call us in with respect, treat us how u want to be treated, because honestly, if there is something that can be fixed we will do it,
however when u call in and call us every name in the dictionary the last thing on our minds is " HOW CAN I GO OUT OF MY WAY TO MAKE THIS CUSTOMER HAPPY AND FIX HIS ISSUE" we are thinking " oh i wish i was able ...

You people on the IT internet team for CINGULAR, can shove those sites were the sun dont shine. Some of the sites we used were really helpful, and when you werent taking stressful calls, they helped relieve the tension pretty good.Then one day I come to work and there blocked. What the F*** are we supposed to do now. One of my TLS told me we can review the cingular websites. What kind of **** is this, come on now, please.
