What?!?!? Everyone else can add a line for 9.99 but not our own stores?

We just went through our training for the new rate plans. It was stated in our job aid that afiliates aka wirefly and amazon can still offer the additional line for 9.99 whereas we have to offer it at 14.99.

WTF!?!? Are they trying to make my job harder?

On a side note...our entire training was basically devoted to comparing us to Verizon.

WOW

You guys are just nasty in here. All stories about how someone is going to sue and the other person tells 'em off then it gets personal. Chill. I'll never understand why people get so uppity-up on each other so easily. Terri Clark Said it best "The World Needs A Drink!"

GAIT

Hi all i hope someone can help me with this question.I purchased a 6340i nokia gait and called and gave the esn ect.I was told that this was all that i needed to do and that the phone would work as it is supposed to.I looked on the field test screens and saw that the acch which is tdma i think only had xxxx someone said thismeant that the phone would only pick up GSM.My question is to get the phone to function properly do i have to do anything else like get gsm-tdma interoperability added? 🙂
If it needs to be added is there someone here that can add it for me?When you call the customer service line some of the people are so clueless.

A630 is real!!!

Ok so on the a630 forum someone claimed they have a Cingular branded a630. Well someone is also claiming they are selling one on ebay. So I checked it out and emailed the person to send me pics and they did and it is in fact Cingular branded. I also got a picture of the box that had the Cingular brand all over it. Are there any other reps in here that have any news on this?

Cingular, Motorola A630

Hi. Wonder how popular this forum is? :-) I want to rant :-( See, I just got the Motorola A630 from Cingular two days ago. I got this in exchange for my old HipTop because Cingular took over SunCom, which supported HipTop, and Cingular would no longer support the HipTop so they were offering me a choice of two free phones - the LG F9100 and the Motorola A630. I chose the Motorola A630 because of its size and its features. The screen on the Moto A630 was bigger than the LG...

However, somehow, applications are very easy to delete. My 7-year-old son accidentally deleted a feature/application on the phone - AOL IM, or some kind of IM application. I think I figured out how he did that.

See, when you get into menu while in the IM & Games se...

In response to "AskJack" Assumption about QUAD BAND

Per The Phonescoop.com Glossary:
Quad-Band

Designates a GSM phone that supports all four major GSM frequency bands, making it compatible with all major GSM networks worldwide.

The four bands include the 800 (AKA 850) and 1900 bands - used in the Americas - and 900/1800, used in most other parts of the world.

This leads me to believe that you are not very knowledgeable in the wireless world. Keep in mind that there are people on here WHO DO NOT WORK FOR THE INDUSTRY (such as myself) who knew the proper answer. You obviously did not. I suggest you do some research. Don't play in the arena if you don't know the rules.

Cingular CSR's Who trains you?

I am on hold with a csr right now as I type this, who is trying to tell me the Nokia 6230 is a QUAD BAN phone. I tried to tell her Nokia don't make quad ban phone but this is, she just know it is, and I should listen to her, cause she is a rep and know what she is talking about. 🙄 🙄

my cingular delimma

i have an att account/number and the number is a different area than my billing zip code.

ok well, i called to migrate and purchase a new cingular phone, the samsung e317...well apparently, cingular phone sales no longer carries this phone so in order for me to get it, i needed to go into a cingular store and purchase it.

not a problem at all. or so i thought

well i get to the store and theres two problems, 1, i can not use my military/national business/foundation account discount of %39 of equipment. ok fine, i'll pay the $120 vs. the $62 with my discount. the cingular stores dont allow you to use a foundation account discount. ok fine.

next problem, because my billing address is in maryland, and my number is a local NYC number,...

7290 Discontinued on Cingular?

While attempting to swap my 7100g for a 7290 (Sure Type is driving my crazy), several of the Cingular stores I have spoken with here in LA are saying something that sounds like either Cingular is going to stop supporting this phone or RIM is discontinuing it.

Anyone have any info? Would be appreciated.

Ive always wondered about Mail In Rebates

I see alot of company's other than cell phone companys giving rebates, but mail in only. Whats the difference in giving it in store or at time of purchase opposed to mailing it in? Are they in hopes that people will not mail it in and make the money or something along those lines...?

for those who dislike cingular's service...

i suggest forking out the $200, break your contract and switch carriers!

why constantly complain, when if you just stop being a F-ing penny pincher a break your contract if your so unhappy.

would you continue paying for a car if it did not work? wouldnt rather save some money and buy a new one?

every carrier is going to have thier problems.

you think your going to escape wireless problems by jumping ship to a new carrier?

i'm gonna go with nooooo

its one thing to post questions or concerns, but concerns dont need to consist of a b***h-fest you know?

we know about problems, but i mean if something major happens, sure let us know, but dont come on complaining about minor stuff that happens to everyone once in awhile.

l...

A simple request

I have one and ONLY ONE simple request for Customer service reps as an agent. When you tell a customer to "go to any Cingular Wireless store" please PLEASE PLEASE specify to them that you are referring to a Cingular owned and operated location. I'm constantly bombarded by customers with only this to say: "But the girl on the phone at customer service told me to come to ANY Cingular store and they'd _____! You're a Cingular store, why can't you do it?" That blank is usually filled in with something like "exchange my phone" "give me a new SIM card for free" or "fix my bill" and an insistence that I look at thier account. (I don't know why, but from our systems I can't view account notes in POS 😕 ) If I hear this come ...

Why do people feel the need to do this????

I'm in a call center. I take calls all day. So I get a standard call...cingular messed something up. Alot of times, it's a mistake that is VERY easy to fix, either by myself, or by calling customer care to assist me. So I tell a customer, yes this is the way it appears to have been set up, but it can be changed. Then I get a tirade in my ear. I don't care if it CAN be changed!!! You are GOING to change it!!! It MUST be changed!!! Why would, after hearing the rep automatically tell you "we can fix this" so to speak, would you get all pissed off and start yelling??? All thats going to do is make the person who was just more than willing to take care of you, not want to help you at all.

Also, on a side note, I DON'T CARE WHAT THE S...
