ok heres the deal. i am in ky but my mother thinks she can get all the answers from me. i need help from someone in upstate nys help. she has a v220 on 39.99 nation plan. she has been making calls from clayton ny. she just received her bill and has been charged international roaming from toronto canada. when she called in to get answers about this she was told there was nothing that could be done. she was escalated and again told that the toronto tower was the strongest in the area and it it picks that one up and uses it she will be charged. mind you she is in the usa in the calling area covered by the nation gsm plan. is there anything that can be done because she doesnt want to pay the cancellation charge of 175 or get wrapped up in a piss...

I work in sales & I gotta say, the automated system SUCKS!!!!!!! I spend 95% of the day being directory assistance.These Customer's push whatever button just to get to a person. Well guess what? I don't give a dayum. I WILL NOT transfer you to the right department. I will give you the number,tell you how to navigate the system & that's it. I'm not here to transfer every freakin call. I tell ya, they need to either make the automated system easier or let us go back to 1st call resolution for all call centers.

Is there not an option for a spanish speaking rep in the IVR? Don't come on the phone speaking english and asking to speak to a spanish rep. Just select the spanish option off the top. I feel better now that I've got that off my chest.

do they usually get bad reception? i am noticing from 3 motorolas i have used, that none of them have ever gotten as good reception with cingular as my other nokia or samsung phones....

my nokia seems to pull more signal then any other brand of phones i've used in the past...

Ok, my new location is located on the same street at the Lubbock call center, albeit the opposite side of town. I get at least 3 calls a day for the call center. Most customers are usually out of my area so I can't pull up their account on POS and attempt to answer their question. Whether it is a lazy 411 operator who didn't realize there is now a second listing for Cingular on University or whatever, people somehow reach me (I am so new I am not yet in the phone book).

So just now I get this call, a very old woman wants to know if we are open on Sundays, to which I reply no. She then wants to know why is it the Abilene store/call center (I am not sure) has to be open on Sundays. She wants to know if she can speak to the President of...

Lets say I wanted to have a prepaid account, can I use any cingular dual band gsm phone or do i need to buy one of 4 of their GoPhones?

When I try to send an e-mail using the included e-mail software on my SMT-5600, and the e-mail address has a special character in it like an underscore or a period, I instantly get the e-mail back as failed citing an invalid e-mail address. However, I know for a fact it to be valid.

Have any of you heard of such a problem and perhaps know the fix?

I see people coming on here bashing Cingular all the time and the Reps they talk to. Some people have to understand that Some of your problems and things, the reps cannot solve due to certain Cingular Policies.

Some Areas will have better service then others. Thats just somethine we have to deal with. If you are really not happy with the service, its not the Reps fault eventhough they are the ones getting all the angry Customers. (Very brave Reps) If it gets really bad then Pay the Early Termination Fee.

I have a customer who has travelled to Greece, and wants to use a local prepaid card in his Cingular Moto V551. The phone is telling him the SIM is not accepted, and to contact his provider. Does he need the unlock code in order for the SIM card to be accepted? Any help greatly appreciated.

I have been a cingular customer for years and am getting ready to upgrade from my current SE T637 to a Treo 650. I would love to be able to have a secondary phone to use on the occassion that I dont want to carry around the larger treo..either keeping the SE of maybe getting the Razr. Is it possible to purchase the treo so that it is set up where i can remove the sim card and pop it in a Razr or SE and everything still work rite? Thanks for the help

So I got my laptop station finally set up in my store. I tested my connection speed via cnet.com bandwidth meter. 221.1 kbps average speed. Not too shabby for a nationwide network.

Anyone else have something like this set up in their store? A laptop demo to show customers how fast they can expect their Cingular data connect to perform?

Recently reading of Cingular's many network outages really came as a shock to me. Knowing that they are undertaking an incredible task of combining the old ATTWS network with the current Cingular network, I still do not believe that such problems are solely due to the integration. When Maverick posted about an outage in Chicago & Chicagoland someobody had thrown out the idea that Cingular may be purposely shutting down the networks for upgrades. However, Maverick replied saying that a friend of his called customer service to find what the problem was and the rep insisted that they had no idea what was wrong with the network.

most rate plans for cingular include mobile to moble and long distance(with in the calling area) also have unlimited nights and weekends

My plan doesnt come with mobile to mobile EXCPET between the 2 phones on the plan BUT my nights run from 6pm to 8 am for 5 bucks a month

I hate people who take their cell phones WAY to seriously come on people its a phone nothing more nothing less. some have cameras and you can take movies with them and stuff like that but what it comes down to is its just a phone. I have a cell phone and it is the only phone I own..but if it was to break today I wouldnt care at all. I dont have a phone that takes pictures or movies or anything. When I set up service I was offered a freecamera phone and guess what...I turned it down...I have things in my life that are alot more inportant to me that a phone.......there I feel better
